Hi, In mission 4, I am the leader of White Transport. I take off and begin to orbit above the airfield. My wingmen took off but the blue transport and yellow transport planes were on the runway threshold but did not take off.

Yes I have aerial photographs taken vertically of these airfields during 1944 and others too. I will publish it on my post that I quoted above.

It's very beautiful, the detail of some buildings is superb but allow me, this is a constructive criticism: There is not much historical research on these WWII airfields! The layout of the taxiways and runways does not conform to what it was at the time, the buildings (Blister Hangar, Blast pens Type E or Type B) do not exist or are badly placed and this is very unfortunate. The airfields on the channel map are more faithful to what they were during ww2. I think DCS wants to be as realistic as possible. Don't take this the wrong way but that's my opinion. I opened a discussion post with info on the arrangement of airfields with their buildings here: Otherwise, it looks like a great map ! Thanks a lot !

Hello, I allow myself to give you some informations about the airfields of Normandy 2. It's up to you to see if it will be useful to you or not, if you want to create the most historic airfields or not! it's for you to see ! The topic will be fed regularly by me or by others, why not! I start with the Advanced Landing Ground (ALG) on English soil which will be present on the Normandy 2 map: Needs Oar Point ALG, Funtington ALG and Chailey ALG. First of all, it must be understood that the Advanced Landing Grounds were temporary airfields, so they only had basic constructions (wooden huts, huts, tents, etc.) Funtington ALG: I admit that I do not have much information on this ALG but with what I have, I was able to draw a plan which seems to me to be the most probable historically: Funtington was mainly used by Spitfires as well as Typhoons. Hi all, Maestro thank you with your team for your awesome stuff! I notice that Funtington airfield does not have the layout of the time! I don't have much information about this airfield. Just some pictures and diagram on this website: http://www.atlantikwall.co.uk/oldsite/atlantikwall/sussex/funtington01/html/page02.htm Apparently there were 4 blister hangars plus basic barracks like all the Advanced Landing grounds in 1944. If you need information on other airfields I will be happy to help you!

I think Dieppe-St-Aubin and Triquerville would be very relevant for the Normandy 2 map!

50 airfields for such a large area is not much! There were at least three times as many! Moreover, I hope that there will be no more generic airfields like on the normandy 1 map but rather airfields reproduced as faithfully as possible... I know, I'm dreaming ... LOL !

It would be nice for "The Big Show" campaign, it would be on a single map !

I calculated the number of airfields on the channel map (12 airfields) and on the normandy map (38 airfields): that makes 50 airfields! We'll see...

Could you, for example, implement the following airfields: "Cairo Intl", "Sharm El Sheikh Intl" south of Sinaï and "Taba Airport" (formerly Etzion Airbase).
