  1. This particular FM maybe, but the physics engine certainly does not. Fly the Mi-8 f.ex. for a while, and you'll notice there's plenty of inertia.
  2. Carb icing is modelled and AFAIK at least the Mi-8 has dust ingestion modelled as well. So the capability is there at any rate.
  3. First, it means you should use the ailerons against the torque whenever your airspeed is low but there's still sufficient airflow over them so that they're effective; second, it means you should use the elevator for keeping the tail down if the airspeed is still too low for adequate directional control.
  4. IIRC, ram air open is what the real-world manual says as well.
  5. I'm also almost 100% certain they did not, because I haven't noticed any differences whatsoever. The OP must've had a placebo experience.
  6. And BTW, lack of original spare parts and no new production was why the Turkish post-war Anton A-3 fleet was grounded after only two years of service in 1947 as well.
  7. OK, so that's how it went down. No wonder some folks didn't like the Mustang, because it indeed is pretty vulnerable with its Merlin...
  8. Right. Would you consider making a bug report about it perchance?
  9. Indeed! But whether they'll implement any kind of weapons and/or damage functionality remains to be seen regardless. It's been a long time since they last did anything having to do with aerial warfare... But one can always hope.
  10. OK, will check. Thanks. EDIT: looks pretty impressive indeed, thanks again.
  11. A good question. Would like to know as well.
  12. That is to be hoped, but has, ahem, this particular civvie sim competitor said what kind of tech they're using for their physics engine? Am asking since I'm very much out of the loop.
  13. This board used to have an upvote button with a PM comment option. It was removed and no-one even noticed. Why bring it back?
  14. I'd say this is a matter of controller setup. A common garden-variety JS has absolutely nothing to do with a RL control stick or column as it comes to feel, displacement forces, moment arms and such, so you'll need to trick it into thinking that it's actually longer than it is.
  15. OK. Kind of thought so myself, TBH.
  16. The thing is, we don't know ED's priorities and thus, can only guess what's bubbling and what's on the back burner at any given time. But I still believe Newy when he says it isn't dead, because he's in the know... whereas punters, such as you and me, are anything but.
  17. What's wrong with its FM? An honest question. I've got the plane but haven't really flown it at all yet, so I've no clue.
  18. Bah. Gimme a Nanchang CJ-6 and I'll fly the buttcheeks off it every day. Your loss if you won't.
  19. Well, that's true up to a point at least. Which makes me wonder why exactly didn't the U.S. use whatever P-47 stock they still had available instead of Mustangs in Korea...
  20. A Lightning? Yeah, why not? The Mossie is a good testbed for ED's twin engine tech, so it could actually be a suitable follower once the implementation matures.
  21. Yeah... but... since the A is out already, we'll get the F much sooner than we would a Tempest or a Tiffie. As much as I'd love to see both in DCS as well, mind you...
  22. Yeah Graf, the new DM may make it more challenging, but because the guns are so good it'll still stay in my operational hangar ;)
  23. Wow Voyager, that sure was an education about its quirks. Thanks for sharing!
  24. Thanks guys, gotta check it out. S!
  25. After the Thunderbolt? HELL YES.
