My Dilema- How do you Handle Your Time to DCS?
Inseckt replied to dne48's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I never have the time, but I play all the time anyway:) -
Indeed:)
-
I made this up real quick, a chart showing the munitions in respect to warhead and guidance. Type of guidance wil give further clues as to CCIP vs. CCRP... Hope it helps, I for sure needed it in the beginning, its alot of unintuitive numbers/letters to remember:) Ps. Training and inert munitions is left out. LBMC.pdf

How long did it take you to learn the A10?
Inseckt replied to Flacracker's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Understanding the logic of the HOTAS in correlation with the SOI logic, was a pivotal moment in the learning-curve for me wich occured at about 8h. At that point I was handeling the A-10. I now have 80h, and I am still not mastering it.... -
Search for Jack bauers a-10 profile, and you shall find an x-52 profile wich have all functions of the HOTAS in on mode!.... SST only for speedbrake... All set up inside the sim....:)

The notes are seen in the ME when you have the dynamic weather edit window open.... BTW, in my own missions the weather is the same every time even though I use DW. Are you sure you have experienced such randomization, peraphs some random trigger is causing this change? Could someone confirm? Edit: one note one the turbulence; to me it seems like that the number you enter in the turbulence field is not multiplied by 0.1 like with normal weather. Ie: 0.7ms in normal weather becomes 7.0ms in DW.(!) I have not been able to confirm this yet, perhaps someone else has noted this?
-
me too, it feels most natural too me, but then again, I've allways had it since (forever?) and might be biased...
-
^^Yes, for my missions, when dealing with theatre-sized sams, usually deciding where the player SHOULD'NT be, I use a trigger zone about half the size of the engagement range envelope witch the player must enter for the sam's ROE to go weapons free....:-)
-
This might seem like a stupid suggestion, but if your using trackir, your view center will sometimes move a litte during operations, and this again can affect the portion of the hud wich is visible. This is confirmable by raising your chair... This is probably not it, but I thought I should throw it out there. We have seen Murphy a couple of times since the release of DCS...:D

If you keep "forcing" the mavs in this manner to exeed their recommanded active-time, is it modelled so that they will eventually become damaged/degraded? I think I have experienced degraded lock-capability, but that could very well be becuse I am biased to expect such an anomaly... I <3 this sim.

Hei! The pov hats dont have curves, they act as buttons, perhaps this is the reason? I am aware that prolonged pushes will have a greater effect, but even my gentelest tap seem to have a certain increment. But its not THAT bad really, the precision im missing is only when refueling or formation flying, regular flight regimes trimming is mostly executed sucsefully... BTW, is the trim hat on the THWH functioning by axis?
-
im using x52 with jackBauers profile, where the trim is on one of the povhats... (Saving for TMWH though:))
-
I am also intrested in a answer to chops's question. I to experience the trim "Increments" to be at bit big. My desiered trim is regularly between two of these increments...

If you need to sustain high-g turns, you need to slowly initiate the turn versus "yanking" the stick wich will rapidly drain the aircraft of energy (see energy management in the flight manual). If you do, witch by your post seems to be what you are doing, you will end up without speed and a very high angle of attack wich is what the "boop boop" is. Slow speed and high AoA is the reason of the unstability upon disengaging the turn... smooth is more! :) Sniped...

In LO, there was a lua option to turn off camera limits to har surfaces, the option is probably still available il DCS, but I cant remember wich file... Should be easy to find out however...
-
I agree with the OP and wish to add my own:worthy:... I guess its easy to forget how lucky we are....
-
I tend to disagree, but I dont know where to begin...

How do you start up in the dark if you can't see a dang thing?
Inseckt replied to Bahger's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
There is an emergency flood switch to the right of the inverter switch. If you cant find that, try tuning your screen... Prepare mission is for setting up and storing settings in dsms/cdu/radios and so forth, it will still be a cold aircraft when you start your mission... -
1. DCS creates a folder in your deafult windows "games" folder called DCS Warthog. The screenshots lands here, not in the systems folder... 2. Yes, you can render tracks as avi files, but its a pain. There's a program called Fraps you could check out...
-
yes, in the wiki theres a good powerpoint-guide to how to do exactly that... (if you did not already know..)
-
yes, it will simply disconnect me again, as if I were already full....
-
So, I read all documentation on the subject on the wiki, and tried several times over, but I still cant fill my wings... Has no one had ever had similar experiences? I think I will try the pacth next week...
-
yeah, found the charts I was looking for altso, seems i have undereestimated this wiki-thingy:book:

Ahh! got it now. Thanks, lot of info there:)
