  1. Taken place from the 23-26 of September it was based at AFB Ysterplaat in Cape Town. This year we had a fairly large USAF presence, with them brining along a C-5, C-17, C-130J, Pavehawk,Kiowa & Predator although the C-5 wasn't displayed or flown while the predator was just displayed. The C-27J Spartan was also there, brought along from Italy it was flown before the SAAF just prior to AAD to test its capabilities as a possible replacement to the C-47TP & Casa Transport aircraft. I must say that aircraft is a most capable replacement, the display it flew was the most amazing I have seen in a while and did things I never knew a transport aircaft could. It was also a time to celebrate the 90th anneversry of the South African Airforce as well as the 75th year of operation of the C-47. Here are some of my pics: Pilatus PC-7 "Silver Falcons" "Damn that tanks close." HH-60 Pavehawk C-17 Globemaster L-39 Cessna Caravan Hawk Mk120 "Vlaggie" Gripen D Rooivalk Ratel-Command Rooikat Olifant Mk2 Leopard 2A4 Will be posting more photos and videos in due course. In the mean time here are two other threads with photos of the Airshow by some more capable photographers than me: http://saairforce.co.za/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2846 http://saairforce.co.za/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2853 PS: Shout if you want any of these in Hi-res I will PM them to you.
  2. Thats absolutly amazing, I never expected so many improvements other than the A-10 itself.
  3. hmm whys the view on the Port side better than the Starboard?.....Oh ****!
  4. Thx but they aren't mine, I was unlucky enough not to attend but will be attending AAD 2010 at the end of September which is shaping up to be a great show, with a particulary big US presence which includes C-5,C-17,C-130,Blackhawk,Chinook,Kiowa and we will be having some mock dogfights between Gripen & Hawk. So when that comes around ill be sure to show off some of my own pics and not that of others.

  14. Oh well at least we beat France who was in the Final 4 years ago, plus we had a hard group and you can't really expect much more from a team ranked 85th
  15. As long as SA beats France I'll be happy, because then no one complain that we are the first host nations to go out in the first round as there seems to be alot of big nations that aren't fairing well at all ie. France, England
  16. Was at the Germany - Australia game, pretty intense but the aussise should of been awarded a penalty for a hand balll, it was pretty obvious. Otherwise they seem pretty shattered afterwards. Even all the aussie news crews outside the stadium didn't look to happy with the germans.
  17. go!!!!! Bafana Bafana...doubt you guys saw that one coming,we could of even won! Funny what happens when then pressures really on they seem to become really good.
  18. There is a bit of a debate surrounding that issue. Most belive that it is a Frigate but the goverment is calling it a corvette so as not to sound as threatening. Politics you know.
  19. some pics I took of SAS Spioenkop a Valour class/MEKO class corvette traveling past my house.
