A slider to scale back the number of unimportant buildings

I agree with them being added as assets but an option for some random traffic would be nice. Having the ships around while creating anti shipping missions is distracting and unrealistic if the mission maker can’t control their positions.

Buy some more memory. It might sound harsh but it’s the better option all around. -
I really like the Hormuz map but would like to point this out. I think civilian vessel traffic should be adjustable in the ME or options so as to give more options regarding mission making.

AIM-7 Performance
dimitrischal replied to HawkDCS's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
I think the radar is heavily wip and that affects the tracking. It definitely feels a lot more realistic albeit unpolished. Patience is definitely needed. Does anyone know if the a2a radar use a raycaster model? -
Four Additional Flaming Cliffs Aircraft
dimitrischal replied to Vampyre's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
If ED wanted they could add different planes to FC4 to increase variety and avoid confusion in multiplayer while still giving players an incentive in the entry level market. A dynamic campaign both single player and online would pretty much skyrocket everything. And no it’s not the same as complaining about ww2. -

Huge dissapointment. Dumbing the core of the game to attract the wrong audience... -
So we make sure absolutely no FC3 fan ever buys it and the franchise hopefully dies, good idea.

Almost everything has problems with the dm now. Mig21s stroll around happily after 3 missile hits all the time. Patience people...

F15s didn’t have thrust reversers and relied on arresting hooks for emergency landings. Get your facts straight on the basics first. Why would increased roll deflection cause tyre damage if the plane touched down normally? After that control is mainly retained by rudder anyway. Also tires don’t go boom with anti skid brakes, they might deflate if brake temperature exceeds a point due to fusible plugs.

May I ask what is the point of this thread?

Which full sim modules you'd like in FC3?
dimitrischal replied to Katmandu's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
Very bad idea to turn century fighters into fc type modules. They are prime candidates for full fidelity modules since data is publicly available and systems are not so hard to recreate. Considering SA2 and other period assets are coming we can set a true 50s -70s air war scenario that a lot of people are asking and is bound to turn some heads. -

Most people are in this game to blow sh!t up or play airquake. A lot of stuff they don’t know and a lot they don’t care to know. The really sad thing is most can’t even appreciate the hard work and love going in to the full fidelity modules. Proves my point exactly. -

Simplified typhoon with simplified meteors? I’d like to see that and forget it right away. Bad idea -

Everyone can play whatever they like of course but it’s like owning a Ferrari. Wonderful product, beautiful and can be enjoyed in many ways even as a living room decoration. Someone has to remind people though it’s meant to be driven and driven fast above all else. -

There are other offerings out there that are simply better at what you want. Why are you tormenting yourself with DCS? It’s full of bugs, bad optimization, few planes and worst of all elitists whose idea of entertainment is entirely different than yours. -
You don’t know if it takes a day or a week to implement this option, it doesn’t matter anyway but if you don’t know exactly don’t put a timeframe on it. Like others said departure from realism in any way is a slippery slope. One small concession isn’t much but where do you stop? Skip INS align on the M2000? kh66 on the Mig21bis? IR reticle in the Mig21? Am I the loser who has to wait for the A10C INS align when a mirage guy is airborne in under a minute? What about the F14s low speed characteristics? Maybe simplify these too so people can land easier? Heatblur just showed of their INS model for the tomcat. Should we add a skip align option on it as well? Maybe a zero drift option to make some people feel happier? Where do you stop?

You tread where others fear to and make history! Can’t wait for the moment i install this module. Congrats and please take my money!!! You guys rock!

As someone wisely said earlier too much time is spent catering for people with wide discomfort zones and short attention spans.

You know you can turn the hud off if it bothers you. Problem solved. You can find everything needed for flight in the flight instruments.
-
What do you mean? Should we make it so that people with a personal -desire- get what they want instead of being true to what it is supposed to be all along? It’s a simulation.

Even the Ability of the SU27SM to guide 2 SARH missiles simultaneously would be a game changer.

Apart from the few people who will get motion sickness and have a valid arguement there is a crowd hiding in the back that simply prefer it that way. In that case I also want an F-14D with amraams or an option to do carrier traps with 6 aim54s hanging of the pylons because that would make me feel all nice about it. While they’re at it they can release an fc3 version as well for the arcade loving crowd. I wish heatblur release the best -simulation- of the F14 they can. No discounts or exceptions in fidelity like another dev who make it possible to skip an entire 7 alignment sequence in the options.
