This virtue, I have in abundance. Besides, having just dropped the cash for the Mongoos and grip, I think that the longer it takes, the better :music_whistling: Z...

I hope the VPC throttle is something like that! Z...

Wow, very tidy! Z...

What is that throttle? Z...

Just wait until I take delivery of both (waiting for the MCG so I can order the Gunfighter), already have my Mongoos ordered and paid for, just awaiting delivery. Having two gaming rigs, whilst annoyingly expensive, does mean I do need two HOTAS setups - the grips being so similar is brilliant, and I'll be able to compare the two bases directly. I'm actually incredibly excited! Glad I have lots of work on to keep my mind off the time (and to help me pay off the credit card). I was initially going to buy just one, but the Mongoos having the same connecter as the Warthog won a purchase, seeing as I have a Warthog already, it means I can use the Warthog Grip without having to modify it, and I have a backup gimbal/base, just in case. Argh... More and more I am looking at the Pro as the one to buy. #it'sonlymoneyFML Z...

Believe me, I am very excited - I can't wait, and am counting the days!!! Z...

Don't worry, even having a place where I can have stuff delivered doesn't solve all the issues. Last week alone, I've had 2 TV's, and networking gear for 3 jobs delivered in completely the wrong places - I mean, not even in the right city, let alone the right street address. Always fun explaining to a client why their job is not being done when it was agreed it would be... Z...

Odd - would think it's easier if were attached (like the Warthog grip/base) Still, will wait and see, as I am awaiting my grip and base - very much looking forward to having them in my grubby paws. Z...

As an idea - seeing so much frustration with couriers - may be worth asking your employer to get it delivered to the office of your employment? (Assuming you are not an "on the road" type person for work). OR perhaps to a friend if you're on the road? As an example, I work on the road and am never home for deliveries - which I get 3-5 of a week. I have a client I know well, with an office very close by - he's been very helpful in allowing all my deliveries to go there. He gets discount rates and a nice bottle of wine every so often. It's often worth checking with people you know before ordering, as it may be more convenient to get things delivered to . friend/office than your home. Z...

GPU upgrade advice
Barefoot Bandit replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Fair enough, it's transferable in Aus (by law, actually, from memory). Some even without a receipt (Apple products, and my Intel i5 6600K). Also, that's the Nvidia warranty, isn't a branded card warranted by the company themselves (EG - Asus/Gigabyte etc). Guess it really depends on the level of local support, and local laws. Z... -
GPU upgrade advice

May I suggest second hand? A GTX970 could be had at well below your budget, and, from memory, most cards had a 3 year warranty, so a recent one will still have two years to go. Z... -
An early look at the MCG Pro
Barefoot Bandit replied to rrohde's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
This is not working. My money is bouncing off the screen and back at me. Should I be filing a bug report? Or is it my lack of a 4k screen? Z... -
to be fair, the adapter for the Warthog is about $40, I'd expect similar for the M5 grip. The MCG looks to be about $100, honestly, if the adaptor was any more than $20 shipped, I'd have just bough the MCG instead anyway, the grip on the M5 is a nice enough setup, but quality isn't great. Z... I

Yup, fair enough. I heard talk about such an adapter being made, but seems it got canned along the way - all good, will just order once the MCG is ready to go. Or maybe the space grip will be teased at just the right moment :pilotfly: Z...

So, silly question... If one were to have a cobra M5, and wanted to buy a Gunfighter base and keep using the M5 grip whilst awaiting, say, an MCG, or space grip... Where does one find the adaptor? Z...

This will vary on your situation, however... I order stupid mounts of expensive gear for my business, I'm usually installing said stuff at a client's place when the next bunch of stuff is delivered, so... I spoke to the courier (requires you knowing who will be the courier, of course), and asking for an "authority to leave" form. I then fill out the form, leaving specific instructions to leave said stuff in an open room outside the house, that has a lock. All the courier needs to do is close the door and ensure it's locked. Now, I've also printed a page with the shipping info, my name, date and signature as an authority form once, and it worked - same deal "please leave in room at located at blah blah, please lock door when done". Seeing as they have a signed form, dated, with the required data, they are usually happy. Otherwise, if the depot is not far from your home or work, you could probably elect to pick up from there. Yes... But after I am over flying a chopper, I can go and fly a fighter jet, WWII fighter, or a spaceship, and not worry about changing the stick. Z...

Interesting. Looks good overall, but I must say, I am a tad disappointed by the plug just coming out with bare cables. I can think of much better ways of allowing for twisting the grip into position. Kind of a bit of a let down for what is, really a fairly high end product. I still think it looks good overall, but it seems there is always some little thing that keeps us from the "perfect stick". That video inspired my comment! Seems I'm going to have . cockpit with 3 sticks and god knows how many throttles. Z...

OK - though not sure why France has anything to do with it, or, do you live in France at the moment? Z... -

There is certainly nothing wrong with a high quality plastic. It was Baur's ingenius design of the F3 that won me in the end over the MFG. Honestly, to me all 3 look like a great long term purchase, just need to work out which best suits your needs. For me, it was Baur's F3. For my second rig, it's actually the VKB. Couldn't be happier!
