  1. This is exactly how I fly. Love the combo. Z...
  2. Awesome mod, but geez, how hard is it to add this to the throttle in factory, considering it was mentioned right at introduction? Not sure I wan't to drop that sort of cash on a VPC throttle, only to hack at it... Z...
  3. I bought the BRD F3 a few years back, it’s a beautiful set of pedals, this looks like a nice update. We’re I looking for another set of pedals, I’d be getting these for sure! Z...
  4. I would like to see a metal replacement for that - the analog operation, coupled with the thin plastic makes it feel very vague for me. Otherwise, I think the new TM50 v2 hits the mark. Z...
  5. Yeah... I'm not seeing any issues there, it's pretty typical for high-end, hand made products of any type to be like this. It may not look like an iProduct internally, but, you can also DIY repair it easily if need be, unlike say, an iProduct... Z...
  6. Looks very nice! I'm super happy with my T-50, so won't be upgrading, but I think this is a worthwhile wait for those that did not get, but wanted the original T50. Now, about that throttle with analog thumb stick... Z...
  7. Sold! Warthog can finally be sold, (along with my old T50 grip). Z...
  8. I've got both the T-50 and the WarBRD. Both are a step above the Warthog - the Warthog is NOT all metal, only the grip is made of a (fairly low grade) metal. It still feels great, though, and I do think the Warthog grip has a better layout than the Virpil grip - primarily due to the 4 way + push hat switch at the thumb - it Virpil would only update the T50 grip with a 4way+press hat at the thumb, it would pretty easily beat out the Warthog, IMHO. The Warthog has a very old style gimbal, and it is plastic. The VPC bases are all metal, are adjustable with spring and cam changes, and general just feel so much nicer to use, with no "stiction". If you really like the Warthog Grip (and I do), I'd consider buying the WarBRD base, and buy a Warthog grip as a spare part from Thrustmaster. As a bonus, the VPC bases use the same connector as the Warthog (for better or worse), which means the Warthog grip just slots right on with no issue - no mods, just plug it in, tighten up the collar, and you're good to go. I still have Warthog HOTAS, but the Warthog base sits in a cupboard. I still use the Throttle, as I am waiting for VPC to release a throttle with an analog thumbstick - only because I also play space sims. I can't comment from experience, but based on use of the Warthog throttle, the VPC will be better in that there are more buttons available on the throttle grip, along with just as many (if not more) on the base. 9. Kind of unfortunate - they are not exactly "old" hardware. Z...
  10. Software is by far the only weak link in the VPC system. Luckily, we probably won't have to spend more than 10-20 minutes performing that process over the lifetime of our VPC products, but it really is a disappointment, and there is very little documentation that truly covers what's going on. I hope this can, in time, be improved to be a little more intuitive. Otherwise, the hardware is magic, and I'll take the slight inconvenience of the software to have the privilege to use the great hardware  Z...
  11. Seems most people on the VPC forum want another space grip... :joystick: Z...
  12. this. this this this this and this. Please. Z...
  13. I prefer the Warthog grip to the T-50 ergonomically. If there were a good quality plastic replica of the WH grip, I'd probably prefer it, but I'd still insist on a metal lever, the plastic one on the T-50, especially with the fact that it's an axis, lacks feel. The plastic flxes, and I have a tough time knowing when the button is actuated, and when it is fully at the end of the press. The metal level on the WH feels much more precise in that I know when it has pressed the button. I've been tempted to get someone to make a metal version of the T-50 lever more than once... Otherwise, if the T-50 actually had a 4 ways +push at the thumb, I'd happily ditch the wathog grip. Z...
  14. This is why I have a PO Box. It's just frustrating as hell when people DON'T dleiver to a PO Box... Especially when the courier company delivering your goods is owned by the post office, and the dispatch center is also the exact location of your PO Box... Z...
  15. I actually have a business where shipping is a thing, and international is a killer. We shipped some very small items to a bunch of countries for a specific group (including the USA, UK, and a bunch of EU countries), and due to shipping costs actually being more than item cost, what we ended up doing was simply adding the product cost and shipping together into a single figure, and called priced the item as "includes shipping". There is simply nothing you can do about it if you are not shipping hundreds of items a day, every day. Really can't blame VPC/VKB, or any of these guys for this. In another case, I had a fairly large item I need shipped from Italy for my automation business, it was a motorised TV lift. Shipping ended up being about US$1500. I was very close to simply buying an airline ticket and taking a 3 days holiday to Italy. The only thing that stopped me, was not being certain if I could fit said bracket in my check in. When the item arrived, I confirmed that it could, in fact, fit in my check in. If ever I need another one, I'll be flying to Italy for a weekend... Z...
  16. I'm clearly late to this party, did not realise the T-50 is being retired. My best guess is the next release will be a WarBRD with an attachment mechanism similar to the T-50. Ideally, I'd love to see both options on the same base! Anyways, I own both, and am happy with both, my T-50 is not going anywhere, and it works perfectly for it's purpose. I have a sneaking suspicion the EOL of the T-50 is more to do with parts commonality, and future products will use many of the same parts (or same processes, at least) as the WarBRD, reducing costs in terms of tooling/machinery. Just a hunch, though. Z...
  17. I agree with the 4 way + Push for the thumb. I'd ditch my Warthog grip for that. Z...
  18. I have experience with the BRD F3 pedals, and the mechanism in that is also beautiful to use. It's so smooth and precise. This is why I did not hesitate to pre-order the WarBRD. It, too, is a joy to use, so smooth and silky, a mechanical work of art. I even enjoying moving the stick around with the base removed, so I can see the mechanism working.:thumbup::thumbup: Z...
  19. So, my "very short" review... The thing is amazing, beautiful, well belt, and feels like a hand held magic carpet ride to operate. After the Wathog, and, really, even the T-50, this feels amazing. I love my T-50, but the WarBRD seems to feel even nicer to use. If feel of the Warthog is a 6, the T-50 is a 9, and the WarBRD is a 9.2 (gotta leave room for potentially improved future designs). As a piece of hardware, it's... Worth. Every. Cent. The software, on the other hand, is awful, I can see why many folks struggle. I posted a more in depth explanation of my thoughts in the Virpil software thread/sticky. Regardless, still love it, and I'm glad I bought it to add to my T-50. Z...
  20. OK guys, credit where credit is due, but I also, being a UI person, think the interface is awful and confusing - fortunately made up for by some amazing hardware. I've already had to help a few people in the Elite: Dangerous forums work out their stick, as the software is not really clear, and the naming of the files often makes no sense. This, to me, is an example of an "Engineer's piece of software" - ie - it makes perfect sense to an engineer, especially one that worked on the hardware (I have an electrical engineering background, and can work it out pretty easily), but non engineer background folks really struggle. For example, once I finally managed to upgrade my WarBRD with the working firmware, I first needed to work out which "board profile" I needed to load (which ended up being trial and error, because they are named as "board 3.01", "board 3.02" etc - also, excuse me if I have the names of the software functions wrong, I'll edit this later when I'm in front of my PC with the correct names), and then, and only then, once I load the right board, can I load the profile that allows the T-50 grip/Warthog Grip/Delta grip to work. Then I need to calibrate... Along with constant saving and loading... My suggestion, and I *know* the team are stupid busy, but still: Set up some from of automated script where you select your base, your grip, click "OK" and it performs all those steps for you, then automatically goes to the calibration screen, and then the button test screen "with "done" or "next" prompts when finished). If you want to get fancy with shift buttons and stuff, sure, you'll need to read the manual and work out the software, but to get the thing running out of the box should not be an exercise in mental gymnastics for someone that just dropped US$300+ (with shipping) on a grip and stick. Now, the video, while somewhat helpful, consists of someone waving a mouse pointer around the screen, with no text, and only silence to fill in the gaps as to what is going on and why. Why am I saving profiles between steps? Why am I reloading them? What am I actually doing when those crazy bars are flicking all over the place before they seem to be tamed? Do I move the stick in circles? Or just full deflection from left-right-up-down? Check out the CH Pro calibration software as a bit of an example of something that makes more sense to an end user. No, it's not perfect, but most people get it first time around, without having to raise tickets (which wastes the teams time) or endlessly searching the interwebs (wasting valuable game time). Again, I don't mean this to be insulting, offensive or combative in any way, just seeing it from the viewpoint of a new customer that is not so technically minded, that just wants to start flying with their *amazingly beautiful* new toy. Cheers, Z...
  21. Yup, stupidly tried to update before checking this thread. Same problem... Z...
  22. WarBRD kills the Warthog. If anything, get a Warthog grip as a spare (yes, you can purchase it as such), and buy the WarBRD base. I'm running my Warthog grip on my WarBRD base, and the difference in feel is incredible. Z...
  23. Just picked up mine after it has been sitting at the post office for the last 3 weeks (it arrived pretty much as my flight was boarding to SE Asia). The mechanism feels *really* nice! Z...
