Like I explained, The \ key doesn't work in the I-16 but is does on other planes. So, I assigned a button to the \. Now, when I press my hardware button the Communication Menu appears and I'm able to get ground power. I don't see how I can make a video/track of that.
-
Update. Tried \ again, no dice. Assigned a button for it and whaddya know? The communication menu works! \ works on other planes, just not on this one. Thanks for pitching in.

Sorry I haven't replied. I rather gave up on it. In fact external power was something I tried to bring up but the normal \ key had no effect. So I wasn't able to try it. Maybe the question ought to have been '\ key not working in i-16' I've watched many tutorials and not one of them has mentioned external power.

125 views and not even a 'Works alright for me'. That's OK, auto starts works great!

Yes again! In desperation I've resorting to bringing this subject up again. Before anyone post links to videos I've must have seen them all. All of which are 5 years old. I can now go through the routine in my sleep but still no joy. I even have a double throw switch assigned to Starter power and clutch so the change from in and out is instantaneous. Nuffin. No sound of inertia wind up just the sound of me gently sobbing. Using Win/Home goes through it beautifully. Hey! I do it like that but a little more sedately. Should I throw it away and put it down to experience? Or is it broken somehow?

Right. Cracked it! Malwarebytes took exception to the I16. (Has he tried to fly it to?) My previous install of DCS was on E: which Malware... was aware of. This time I installed it on F: Rectified that, uninstalled the beast and started again. Beast installed and loaded without issue. Now the really hard work starts. Thanks very much for your input. Believe it or not it helps to concentrate the mind when there's someone in your corner.
-
Yeah, I just found that out. Must be a new thing. However...On starting DCS I'm now shown a pop-up saying the I-16 is not authorised and will be disabled. So I went to the DCS products and clicked BUY and quite rightly I'm informed that I've bought it already.

Thanks for coming back. Unless I've missed something, you have the load the plane in order to change/assign bindings, yes? While I'm typing I can feel the answer. I reckon you CAN assign bindings without loading eh? All the other planes I've done so far have been load/assign bindings

It's been a while since I used DCS but I'm re-acquainting myself. So far so good. P51, Spitfire and P47 under control. I thought I'd give my old nemesis a try. It still hates me! Tried to load up a cold start but it loads with an almighty crash as it's dumped onto the concrete with it's wheels retracted! Bits of bodywork flying every where. I then tried a free flight. Spawned with a dead engine. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Same. In the list of installed products the i16 is there but the OctopusG is greyed out. Is that significant.? Maybe it's just trying to tell me not to bother.

Could be, could be.

No, I definitely didn't see anything like that.
-
I did? Well whaddya know. Did it ask me if I wanted them? If so I must have missed that bit. Thanks for the quick service.

This seems like a relevant thread to tack onto. Instead of authorising content I have I get a stream of failed authorisation window for stuff I haven't got! Will it finally get bored with asking me to enter serials for things I don't have? I know, buy more stuff eh? Item !. pictured. And so it goes on...and on...

I've been away from DCS for a while and when I came back I was unable to select the P-51 in either multiplayer or single player. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it...No change. How does one uninstall it completely? It seems as if uninstalling via the module manager only uninstalls in name only.(maybe) I can go on a server and select any aircraft that I have purchased...Except this one! Ideas? EDIT: Ignore this please. A case of poking fingers where they have no right to be. I've covered my tracks, no one will know.

Ditto. Ithought it was an online thing but apparently not. Extremely irritating. -
Thank you Reb. No it's not a mod issue.

...over runways. This is in the mirror. I'm running the smoke mod lua for the P51 and up to now it worked properly. At some point, recently, if for instance you're doing a loop over a runway I alway keep an eye on the mirror to keep track of the smoke trail. Now the smoke disappears over the runway and doesn't reappear until you're over grass. Needless to say I don't do combat only formation stuff so it is/was a handy tool. Any clues?

9 pages of 'Thank you's, but I don't suppose another one will hurt. Thank you Chuck.

Well I'll be darned! All this time I've had the IPD distance set at 65 which is my real IPD. I just had a play about with it and settled, for the time being, on 50. I've now got some elbow room! It may be my imagination but things seems to have sharpened up graphically as well.
