Interestingly, the close up we get of it shows a standard reflector gunsight with backup, but in the videos of Wags flying we see a K-14, which means we might be getting two different gunsight models.

I believe it to be full sweep. From playing the other game and watching pilot training videos, I know that the turbo could and should be locked with the throttle, with the turbo only being disconnected and operated independently at high altitude. I use an X-55, so I'm personally thinking that I will have the left throttle control boost/turbo, the right prop RPM, and I will use rotary 3 to control mixture (though that might be a position mixture, like on the P-51). To operate the turbo independent, I will use the vertical switch on the front of the left throttle. There's a lot of other things to keep in mind with this aeroplane too; manually operated intercooler door, potentially a manually operated oil radiator door and manually operated cowl flaps. Plenty of complexity not found on any other existing warbird.

I don't have either of those

Did the Mustang got the new merlin sounds as the Spitfire?
AndytotheD replied to Eviscerador's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
I didn't know it whistled before 2.5.6. The addition of the whistle is really welcome to me, I appreciate the increase in immersion I've gotten out of it. -
I only blew the engine when I mishandled the prop pitch, more specifically overboosted the engine at 2700 RPM. Once I realised it wasn't nearly as fragile in higher RPMs, I've given it what for without a failure since.

I think the D-30 has a Curtiss Electric paddle prop; The D-28 was the first with that engine/prop configuration which the D-30 shares, plus dive breaks.

Are you gonna get sounds from her too?

Nellie is going to be there. Wonderful article about flying that beast linked in the P-47 discussion.

That's awesome, I'd love to be able to speak to y'all about what you do, but I'm sure this is work for him.
-
Will any of y'all be there at the airshow itself this weekend?
-
No it's not that. I did some testing earlier to see if it was random but I couldn't replicate it. I've come to the conclusion I should just handle the throttle more carefully.

I've had an interesting issue recently: I've noticed a bandit behind me, I engage the MW50 by pushing the throttle forward, the engine goes to 3250 and 1.9 AtA, but then it coughs (typically within a minute of MW50 being engaged), continues making the revs and boost (3250 at 1.9), no change in the noise (sounds the way it would if it was doing 3250 at 1.9 normally) but it's not producing any power and the aircraft won't accelerate. I can set any power setting I want and it will sound normal and pull the correct revs and boost but it simply won't actually generate any power. If I pull the throttle back to idle it stops outright and the prop windmills. Anyone have any ideas what's going on there and what I can do to prevent this happening?

So now that we have the Anton......

That's what I mean! And I'm glad for it, perhaps they'll do the same with the others. -

That's interesting: that 190A-8 didn't appear in it's AI version did it? They just went and outright built it. -
There's a safety on the stick that must be disengaged. The default key combo for this is left shift space. Hope that helps!

I'd really appreciate this one, I'd love to have a go flying it in MP.
-
Oh! Thank you very much, I'll keep that in mind.

Is the server ok? It’s availability has seemed a bit spotty to me since the latest OB update.

Off the top of my head, the 262 and Thunderbolt are the last two original DCS WWII aircraft that we're waiting on, so it's nice to hear some news on that. -
The anticipation is killing me!

I am a prop guy, and the reason we don't complain is that we are extremely lucky to have a home in DCS, and even then only through fortuitous circumstance.

Meanwhile Heatblur produced the Viggen and are approaching release on the Tomcat. I struggle to believe and truly hope that they they'd do something with as little community interest as an acrobatic biplane.

This whole thread has to be bait

I hate this picture, simply because the Turkey was being flown by probably the best BFM pilot ever.
