  1. Do you mean 2 AIM-54s, 3 AIM-7s, and 2 heaters?
  2. I really appreciate this and think it's very Cool, but what does it mean for people's performance?
  3. By Comparison, that bomber at 4:38 is most likely going to go down and that was only a few seconds of fire.
  4. The Spitfire followed closely by the P-51D. It might convince me to purchase the German modules.
  5. Nah an F/A-18 was killed by a MiG-25, despite what the official U.S. line likes to believe. An F-16 was also killed by a Mirage 2000 But I digress, we must return to the topic at hand.
  6. Only a few F-15Cs got AN/APG-70s. It wasn't a fleet wide thing.
  7. So, will they retail for 60 each? EDIT: just curious so I can budget for the next two months, I'm a college student.
  8. I'm having an issue attempting to connect to servers, it just times out randomly. Sometimes it will do a "Server update timeout" and it just occurs randomly. It could be my crap tier internet, but I did not have this problem before updating to 1.5.6 Here's my log if it helps. dcs.txt
  9. I have read that the only Spitfires to operationally carry rockets in the war were XVIs and that was a field modification.
  10. In game it works automatically. As you climb the altitude delivery will increase on it's own.
  11. OK so here's what I found It could be retrofitted although this was done very rarely, typically as a repair. As a production fittinget it didn't really come about until mid-1944. I have found several pictures that can be confirmed as LF. IX by their tail numbers. One of them is definitely an IXc, though I have read that the others are also IXc as well. Sources: http://airhistory.org.uk/spitfire/production.html http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234989598-spitfire-mk-ix-c-and-e-wing-and-the-pointy-wider-chord-tail-inquiry/
  12. The rudder could retro-fitted to the V-stab if I remember correctly. I don't know if this was done on the line for production IXcs or as a common field modification as the only LF IXc I have ever seen with a pointy tail was PT672 belonging the the RSAAF and then the SAAF. I'll try and dig up more info
  13. Would that provide enough flow to support the engine at higher boost settings? I can take off and climb with no issue. I feel like the flow would be restricted if it was running through the lines for the wobble and primer pump alone.
  14. It might be a bit cheeky to intentionally see if things are broken by not performing steps in the checklists but I found that you can start the engine without touching the fuel cock and just leaving it closed. I also note that once the engine is running, if you open the cock and then close it, it does starve fuel to the engine which then subsequently cuts out. Not a big issue, cause if you follow the checklist, it shouldn't happen, just felt it should be pointed out.
  15. No.1 and 165 Squadrons were using 150 Octane fuel in their LF.IXs from May 1944. They were used to great effect against the V-1 offensive in June, July and August 1944, before the role was given more or less entirely to Tempest units. Inded I can get specific references for this, if you'd like.
  16. The problem is not so much why they are in game, rather it is why they chose a mid-late 1943 configuration for the Spitfire IX when they knew it was primarily going up against two late war German fighters with tremendous performance advantages. That said, based on questions posed in this thread, that they may make amends to the performance by adding 100/150 octane fuels. This will certainly level the playing field.
