Dear Flight Sim Community, Due to financial difficulties, I have decided to sell my Flight Sim PC Setup. I am also selling my CH Pro Controllers, Trackir 4 and Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard. I will include, for free, a selection of games, as well as some of the best add-ons for FSX, all on original DVD. This could be a nice early christmas present for someone who loves simming/ gaming. I do not want to sell this on ebay, I would rather that someone from the simming community had the chance to buy this PC. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact me via email at toby23 AT gmx DOT net and I will do my best to help you. This system performs great, I used Windows XP SP3, and it ran Black Shark, ArmA and FSX with all the typical add-ons and mods very well. I built this machine myself, specifically for flight simming and gaming. I have formatted the hard drives and installed Windows XP, the rest is up to you. All of the original cables, the original packaging and instructions are included. The only products that I don't have the original boxes for are the Trackir, the power supply unit, the zalman fan and the hard drives. I also have a hard copy of the Black Shark Manual, which I will include with the PC, for free. I would like to sell this system for: PC Price = €700 (incl. software and games) Extra Hardware Price = €100 Controllers Price = €400 On receipt of payment, I will send the PC/ Hardware with an International Courier (UPS, DHL) to you directly. Please note that I cannot pay the delivery costs, this will be added to the total price. If you live in Switzerland, you are welcome to pick the goods up from me directly. I look after my valuables, these goods are all in excellent condition. See the photos below for more information. I look forward to a successful sale and making someone a happy simmer! Updates have been around as long as the 1.01 update has. You can find them at LockOnFiles
-
Migo you'll need to edit CADAVER.BMP and KA-50 PILOTEJECT.BMP
-
I would think that based on how realistic the rest of the model is, that the dev team also modelled the shkval correctly even if it doesn't match what we find online. As for what you can find online... Ka-50 Su25t Unknown

1. The ReadMe is most definitely not in Russian, I wrote it and it's in English 2. I just redownloaded the mod from LockOnFiles to check, and it's all in English 3. Try redownloading from here http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=ns_dl_auth_full_list&author=toby23#auth 4. This mod is only for DCS Black Shark, it does not matter which version. 5. This mod has not been tested with the Russian version of Black Shark. 6. Maybe you need to reinstall Windows? (Only joking) First uninstall ALL of your cockpit mods, then starting with the Shark Pit Mod, slowly add the mods to Modman, checking each time that everything is working ok. If you have the Shark Pit Mod installed, that will turn yellow but the Pilot Mod should turn green, if you have installed it correctly.

159th Viper, I think that part of the problem is that the tools are slowly becoming available but the fact that ED insist on retaining any rights to any add-ons has pushed professional developers away. Maybe this changed but I remember reading that any add-ons developed with the ED tools remain property of ED. No 3rd party payware developer will agree to this. Plug-Ins 10 months after Wags' original post, as promised, the terrain tool was released in May. The problem is it's not a terrain tool, it's a plug-in for 3ds max7 according to wags, or 3ds max8 according to the wiki. Why can't it be a plug-in for DCS so that everyone can use it? As it stands now, it's limited to 3d modellers, who, with all due respect, aren't always texture artists as well. If I could somehow use a plug-in for DCS to generate landclass or place ground textures and models that I have created, I would have already released a freeware city or airport for Black Shark. Give me a vector based editor that automatically maps textures to existing terrain, or terrain made by someone else, and I'll give you great ground graphics in Black Shark! According to this thread, the two or three people trying to develop add-ons for Black Shark, are having a hard time. A requirement of 3ds max 7/8, is perhaps also a hindrance. 3DS Max has a very steep learning curve for beginners. Terrain Regarding terrain tools, it seems like Hawg11 and luckybob9 are the lucky ones who understand how it all works. I wish them all the luck in the world because I want to see some believable terrain asap in Black Shark. Two worlds collide I am a graphic designer and can find my way around 3d programmes but I am not a 3d modeller. I could make the DCS world prettier if I knew what I had to edit. In FSX, I know what I have to do to change the ground textures, water textures, sky textures, to edit scenery and to create missions and add-ons. I have the freeware tools and utilties to do this. Granted, DCS is younger but being based on the same foundation as Lock On, I had hoped that by now, we would have seen a couple of utilities aimed at developers who want to produce add-ons for Black Shark. In DCS, we can make small changes to specific graphic files but only because we have ModMan. We cannot change the clouds or the position or layout of airports/ runways/ buildings and forests and if we can, where is the instruction manual/ forum to help us learn how to? History How did Teka Teka or Mitch find out how to improve LOMAC so much? Probably through trial and error, maybe they are talented programmers, I don't know. I do know that I have been trying to improve how Black Shark looks since it was released at the end of last year and I have not been able to change much. Some of the biggest improvements for me have been Tango Romeo's excellent Shark Pit, the ENB Series Mod and, without blowing my own horn, my camouflage pilot texture, edited airport frequency and dirty glass mods. Notice how these are mostly visual mods that improve the visual quality of the game. For me, everything else works ok, I don't play online and I am a visual person, so I focus on making a game look prettier. A bad workman blames his tools If we could just have some simple tools, for example: 1. 3d object placement for missions and scenery 2. Spline based airport editor like ADE for FSX. 3. Support for freeware 3d utilities like GMAX. 4. A public forum for developers to help each other Thanks for listening, sorry if I rambled. I just want DCS to look as good as FSX with all the add-ons. Interesting reading what you guys have to say... Feuerfalke, you should chill out, it's just a game... You didn't write it, so don't take the comments so personally... :smilewink: My original point was simply that i would like to see some more variety in scenery and better graphics outside the cockpit or a more open engine that i and other developers could produce add-ons for. I have made various add-ons for various sims and would love to help out making the DCS world a prettier one because for some people, eye candy is as important as a great flight model. Check this thread to see some screenshots showing what I see when I fly in FSX. I'm not comparing DCS to FSX, i'm just using it to make a point. FSX is older than DCS but because it has a relatively open architecture and a solid fan base, developers are busy releasing high quality add-ons for it on a regular basis, see Lotussim L39, Real Air Duke, Tongass Fjords, the list goes on. None of these add-ons come from Microsoft, they are all from external developers. With the demise of ACES and the shift in focus to consoles, who knows how much longer this will go on. I hope at least for a couple of years. Technology has now reached a point where people can achieve very realistic and believable graphics on their systems with very playable frame rates. I need at least 25fps for a game to appear smooth. Maybe for you, 15 is enough... My point is, look what you can do these days, even with older software... DCS needs to improve its looks if it wants to be taken seriously by developers. Unfortunately a kick ass flight model and cockpit aren't enough these days... And neither is a basic sim like FSX. To get the most out of it, you need talented developers to release great add-ons as well.

Feuerfalke, it's not about picking the best bits out of two other sims. It's about providing examples of what I would like to see.

Can we expect a Landclass/ Scenery update some time soon? I love flying in DCS, the cockpit is second to none. After flying FSX with all the add-ons though, everything happening outside of the cockpit in DCS well, kind of sucks... I appreciate that this is running on an older engine and that you guys made some minor adjustments and updates but it still detracts from the immersiveness and believability, which is a shame considering you have the best combat simulator on the market. Q. Will we, at any time in the future, be seeing an updated scenery engine? Perhaps a more open engine that we could also easily develop add-ons for? Personally, I would like to see: 1. More detailed Mesh. 2. More realistic ground textures, water textures and autogen placement, similar to what FTX has developed for Australia. Their 3d night lighting also looks great. 3. Better clouds, no need for hi-def, I would be happy with high quality 1024 textures 4. More AI in game. For example, in ArmA2, there are planes, cars and people going about their business regardless of what you are doing. This all adds to the believability and immersiveness. 5. A preview of skins, when you want to change the skin, before the mission starts. Don't get me wrong, I love DCS but am sure that with all the talent you have in-house and all the talent out here, DCS could be so much more. Keep up the good work, Toby

1. Uninstall ALL your mods 2. Load up DCS, does it work ok? 3. If yes, then it's one of your mods causing a conflict, perhaps one that is not compatible with 1.01 4. If no, then it's something not related to your mods, sorry but you will have to figure this out. 5. Install my pit mod before any other mod, then add the other mods, checking each time to see if DCS works or not. This way, you will find out what is causing the problem. My 1.01 version of this mod works fine with 1.01. I have only edited graphics, so this will not be causing the sim to crash. Good Luck.

Dragon, don't be so childish.. advertising your pit mod on my thread... Tango, PM me your email addres and I will mail you a link for the Pit Mod...

Sorry, nowhere else to post. Maybe someone else can host them?

@Dragon - This is an updated file for DCS BS V1.01, so yes, it includes the new files. @21GT_Tiger - I tried to contact TangoRomeo but he never replied so here is the file with full credit to him, he did a fantastic job on these textures, I just added some final touches. Enjoy

Shark Pit Mod by Tango Romeo - UPDATED for DCS Black Shark V1.01 I have uploaded my edited version of TangoRomeo's Shark Pit for DCS Black Shark V1.01 to LockOnFiles. I have improved some textures and added my original Dirty Cockpit Glass Mod, so remove that first if you had it installed. This Mod is compatible with my other Cockpit Mods: - Airport Frequency and Map - Shkval Mod and Testcard - Russian Camouflage Pilot ----- IMPORTANT NOTE ----- Do not try to use this with Black Shark V1.0, ONLY use it with V1.01 Activate this mod BEFORE installing any other cockpit mods!

that would be great crazysundog.... the more the merrier.

Connos, it's set up to only use bloom. It does affect the fps but it's very very minimal, try it. If you activate Occlusion, for example, it will kill your fps. Leave it as it is and play with the Bloom and Colour Correction Settings only. Don't forget to backup the original first! Regarding Stability, I have been playing all day with DCS V1.01 and no problems... Make sure you use the included d3d9.dll otherwise you will have problems.. Toby

Here are my settings for ENB Series Mod for Black Shark. I have only tested this with the BFG GTX260 Card and the latest Nvidia Drivers. ----- Install Instructions ----- 1. Download the ENB Series Mod that works with DCS Black Shark from HERE 2. Add the d3d9.dll file to your Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\bin\stable folder 3. Run Black Shark Once, press Shift+F12 to activate the mod, then quit. This will create a file called enbseries.ini in your Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50 folder. 4. Replace the newly created enbseries.ini file with the one I provided. 5. Fire up Black Shark, start a mission and use Shift F12 to activate the ENB Series Bloom Mod. Sometimes Less is More. Note - The ENB Mod is created by Boris Vorontsov and is available from his website HERE. I cannot find the d3d9.dll file on his website that works with DCS BS, that is the only reason why I am offering you the download directly. All credit for the ENB Series Mod goes to Boris and support is available from Boris' Website. Click HERE for Full Size - Mod OFF Outside View. Click HERE for Full Size - Mod ON Outside View. I have updated this mod for DCS BS v1.01 and uploaded it to lockonfiles. Happy hunting. -
@Dragon - I have edited the files, added the missing files (3x), repacked them and sent a PM to RomeoTango asking for permission to upload the files to LockOnFiles. EDIT - The CDDS files are ready and waiting for approval from Tango Romeo...
