  1. Sun Textures DCS A-10C 27/06/11 The NEW SUN Files are included in the attached ZIP file. INSTALLATION Read Me included in ZIP. I tweaked it a bit more, see screenshot below.
  2. Sorry but I don't understand that quote. The dotted line was also never removed in the video. ?
  3. EDIT - COMPATIBLE WITH 1.1.0.9, NO CHANGE FROM 1.1.0.8 I've made a new sun effect based on your feedback. Do you want this released as a mod or are you happy with the original sun? PS I've kept the original glow settings for realism.
  4. What is the dashed line with a box on the end coming off the target in that video? Some kind of guide to target?
  5. Just finished watching your video, amazing stuff. Will try this next week when I'm back in the cockpit. Thanks for recording that and for your help.
  6. In real life, the glare is reduced by visors/ glasses/ glare shield etc so I guess that my edit is unrealistic and the original is closer to real life. I just don't like flying with this effect. I will play around and see if I can get it closer to real life through a helmet. If anyone can provide an in cockpit shot into the sun, that would really help? See attachment.
  7. Comparison Screenshot below... It just removes the milky effect that covers the screen. It doesn't remove the bloom effect of the sun (lightening and darkening of screen) You are still affected by the sun but the cockpit remains clear. Each to his own.
  8. Zamboni, how do you get the extended information in the radio menus in your yt video for this mission? eg frequencies for ATC Thanks
  9. interesting... thanks for the video and for the info mustang. what gpu do you have and what resolution do you fly at?
  10. Thanks Zamboni. I guess it must be me but I've tried four times to complete this now. If the target isn't already destroyed before I can get to it (Abort, Abort, Abort), or my wingmen don't get to it in time, I'm being shot down by SAM's at 12,000ft+ I can't get anywhere near enough to drop the bombs myself. i just saw your ytfilm, i'll keep trying...
  11. @Mustang, you can push noise1back higher. I'm running 60000 and only very distant textures are unclear.
  12. Thanks for your help.
  13. During Start-Up (following Memphis Belle's 1.1.0.8 guide), I get a Master Caution warning every time during left engine start-up. I read that this is because the APU is still running when an engine is providing power. Is it normal to get this warning because I need the APU ON to start up the right engine. Thanks.
  14. Wow, in that first video, you can really see how cramped it must be in there. Nice videos people.
  15. Hey Zamboni, I would really appreciate it if you could post your fixed mission. I would hate to not be able to progress due to a bug. I watched your campaign videos on youtube, very inspirational. Thanks.
  16. So, I've made it to Mission 5A in the Devil's Cross Campaign. After going through the start-up procedure, taking off and getting to the Contact Point, I call up JTAC only to be told 'no tasking, clear to depart'... ? What's the point in this mission if only to get me there to send me back home. Isn't that taking realism a little too far? I've tried this mission four times and that happens every time. What am I missing? Thanks for your help.
  17. Yes, I'm seeing this, GTX 580 SLI, and I hope it will be fixed soon.
  18. Since 1.1.0.8, I've been having this problem too. Nosewheel defaults to right turn on entering level. During engine start up, plane will pull and turn to the right. Engaging and disengaging NWS straightens the wheel.
  19. @Mustang, why is it better to raise distanceLevel10 than noise1back? Does your edit affect performance at all? Thanks mate.
  20. I have increased the Level of Detail of ground textures around my aircraft too. In the --Old Noise section, I raised noise1back to 60000 and all distant textures are clear, no noticeable frame hit and no weird graphical errors. Thanks for your very high mod Kuky, much appreciated. Sim looks lovely now.
  21. I found out how to remove the Sun's glare and keep the lovely HDR effects. 1. Navigate to the following folder in your DCS A-10C install folder - \DCS A-10C\Bazar\Effects\PostMotionEffect\options 2. Make a backup of the file hdr.lua 3. Open the original hdr.lua with notepad++ 4. Find the following text and replace 3.0 with 0.0 to remove the effect -- sun glow radius hdr['glow_radius'] = 3.05. Start DCS A-10C and enjoy late afternoon flights without the glare in your eyes... Happy hunting
  22. Nate, thanks for your help but I like the HDR effect, just not the screen glare. Makes it hard to fly late afternoon sorties.
  23. Option to Disable Tree Shadows +1 Option to Disable HDR Screen Glare +1
  24. Thanks Nate, I just completed the first mission. DCS A-10C is really something special.
