$55au minus $15us = $40Bucks You were almost right Cali. Its my fault I did not make it especially clear for our American friends.:helpsmilie: What was understandibly overlooked in the quoted calculations and very easy to do. Zentera just bought the CD Not the manual and the cd. At a very good price too I might add. Now my price... Manual $29 AUSTRALIAN Dollars its a printed manual. Hard copy is not available when you just purchase the CD CD $25 AUSTRALIAN Dollars this is equals to $54 AUSTRALIAN Dollars. Thats for 2 seperate items. plus freight for one package only which would be considerably less than buying each item individually. So lets work this out. Lets say a potential AUSTRALIAN Customer who lives in .. Melbourne AUSTRALIA for example, wants to buy the CD ONLY AUSTRALIAN Dollars. He or she emails me with a link to this thread and is happy to pay by Credit Card. Great! Postage, $5 AUSTRALIAN Dollars, CD $25 AUSTRALIAN Dollars. Thats a grand total of $30 AUSTRALIAN Dollars. Posted to him or her straight away and they should receive it 2, maybe 3 working days later in the mail. Now if we factor that (For the Americans) that the Aussie dollar is at about .80 US Dollars, then its looks even cheaper. just $24.00 US Dollars delivered to Melbourne AUSTRLALIA. I hope this makes it a little more clear.

Unfortunately it doesnt work out less expensive for us Aussies after adding freight from the UK. And it certainly takes alot longer to get here. But thanks zenTera for the valuable post

I am confident that the general community is wise enough to see that its the same handful of people. Namely a few 3sqn members. only a few thankfully and a couple of other Cling-Ons who cant keep a private matter private. Keep throwing the mudd fellas. Its only going to end up on your own faces in the end.

If you think I sell copies of Flaming Cliffs to make money you need your head read. Any small amounts of profit made go directly towards the running of the server. And I promise you Ive spent $1000's to keep a server going.
-
If someones banned cobra from a server I'm sorry to hear it. It certainly wasnt me and it certainly isnt the case on our server. Another one who cant get their facts right.
-
If I was going to buy Lock On Flaming Cliffs id be very happy to pay a little extra knowing that the person I'm buying it off knows what hes talking about. Its a bit like buying a computer. buy one from Chandlers you'll get it cheaper sure. Or buy one from a reputable local dealer who actually knows how to use the computer. Might cost you a little more but you get your moneys worth every time.
-
As for the 29.95 "in stock" someone ordered it from there and after 2 weeks demanded a refund as the supplier did not have it yet then bought it from me and had a copy within 2 days from Coffs to Melbourne.

naa this was 8-9 years ago now. top side of the train station.

For the record. The price for the original Flaming Cliffs as printed by Eagle Dynamics / Ubisoft. As opposed to a second tier company, is $49.00 Australian. It is posted and shipped by Australia Post The Same Day at a cost of around $5.00 I suggest people get their facts right before claiming "Rip Offs" Not that its the norm but one person whom bought FC off me was given my old track IR one at no charge as well. Oh by the way Cobra, what's the price of Fighter Ops going to be again? $100.00US I heard. So Australian thats what.. $125.00 plus postage? Or maybe you could clarify as your a Development team member.

Its a very fair price for a genuine quality product. It was also an agreed price by the publisher. These discs had to be air freighted from england. And only a small quantity were available. Maybe its just another chance to attack me ? Other Australians whom have bought this product from my business have been more than happy with the prompt delivery ,advice and help theyve received in getting things to run properly.

AWACS and the CAS Aircraft on MP Servers
Ice replied to ericinexile's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Hi there ericinexile, Firstly many of us like to think of LOMAC as a simulator more than a game. Secondly if you try our server you'll find that AWACS are far from perfect. Aircraft in the bullseye area (between say Maykop and Sochi Adler) are very rarely spotted by AWACS if they stay reasonably low. The reason for this is the AWACS are quite far away. since 1.12a The AWACS are affected by line of sight and the hills therefor play a major part. For enjoyment weve moved from no externals to having externals on with no padlock or F5 view. F10 view is also disabled. I am sure if you are determined enough you could exploit this to a certain degree. However as AWACS are flying, for the effort it takes it really doesn't make a big difference other than you can take a break and watch your mates fly or the flying skills of others so new guys (and veterans) can learn. -
At this point in time, Jim's link is correct. http://169thpanthers.com.au/sales/sales.htm

169th_Polecat's A2A "Quote of the Month"
Ice replied to PoleCat's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
My absolute favourite quote by whom i dont know but if someone does please say .. In a Dogfight: "A bad decision is better than no decision at all" -
Thanks for that tip Zorlac. Ive seen the MaxFPS = xx; setting in the gonfigd and also in BS files. So i copied and pasted it into graphics.cfg and set to 50fps. Now cpu usage floats between 2 and 4%. Players are reporting better fps in server as well.
-
Interesting. However we get about 570 fps on the server without tweaking.

Our old Server is exactly the same as some other dedicated servers used for Lock On. Same location, box everything. It was or is capable of pushing a steady 3mb/s even though they advertise it could do 10. We found this certainly was not the case. the other limiting factor was CPU and RAM. A lowly AMD Chip, a limit of 1 gig RAM and a very very basic Radeon 9200 3D accelerator Card. Needless to say it is sufficient for up to 30 players with very limited extra objects or say 22 safely as miniwar type mission. Now to our new server. from 3MB/s upload to a steady 50MB/s UPLOAD optical fibre. From a AMD 3000 CPU to an Intel Core 2 Duo running on air at 3.2GHz with 2GIG od DDR800 RAM. We took a risk and put the machine together with Vista business. Overcoming a few minor hiccups and the fact that our website and statistics server have changed location everything is coming together very nicely. The mission we run is a MiniWar thats been developed and tweaked over 12 months and offers challenges for every type of pilot. The settings are All ACE exept I have decided to leave externals on. Some of you dont like that but alot more do. Inlcuding myself. I like watching the F3 view from time to time and watch my buddies run in on their targets. I also believe this gives the newer guys the oportunity to see how the veterans fly. With F5 view and padlock off, the fact that there are AWACS the exploitation factor is limited. No doubt there will be a handful of community members eager to flame my post. Whether it be the mission, the server or me personally. So be it. I however have faith that the majority of us can see through their veiled mud slinging campaign, respect my views and or position. Continue to fly on what can only be described as the best Server dedicated to Eagle Dynamics simulators ever.
