  1. It will be an in person transaction, so I hope I could identify any major damage, but it sounds like even if the electronics are borked I could replace them and still have a pretty decent deal. I'll post up if I get it.
  2. its on a craigslist posting in dallas. full set up.
  3. Just wanted to throw this in, I got on NTTR multiplayer last night and flew the F5 without problem. I'm running windows 10 64 bit.
  4. So assuming it's broken, for $100, is it still worth it? The question is assuming worst case, how much would it cost to refurbish it?
  5. A guy is selling a TM Warthog for $100. He says it works, but if for some reason it doesn't, is it still worth $100 and then just buy repair pieces? What are your thoughts?
  6. I just don't understand how the MiG21 is somehow easier to operate? I am terrible at the game, but I have never had an issue flaming out an engine or releasing ordinance in the F5. Fire up free flight mission on the MiG21 and it will stall the engine in about 5 seconds without touching the controls. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like it's almost unflyable without simple engine management turned on.
  7. Does simple radio have a easy feature where you can just PTT and have your voice sound it's coming in over the air? Currently using discord for voip and it's a little off putting.
  8. Title says it all. What is the best radio mod for DCS? Looking for something that is similar to Task Force Radio for ARMA 3. Any comparables? Gunny
  9. One of the main reasons why I like the F5 is because of the ease of use. Its obvious this plane was designed as an export fighter, and its genius is in its ability to be rapidly employed and operated to its full potential with relatively low training time required. The black shark has been fun as well, just going to require a few more weeks of practice before i can effectively employ it. The MiG21 has been frustrating to say the least. This isn't Leathernecks fault, rather it is the MiG's inferior engineering. The engine wont stay on at 0 g? You have to hit 20 switches to fire the AA ordnance? Becoming more obvious why and which country maintained air superiority throughout the Cold War...
  10. I recently purchased the black shark 2 and mig21bis modules because they are half off, but I keep coming back to the F5. It's really the most fun to fly and fight with. The complexity of the mig21 compared to its relatively rudimentary systems stands out. The American engineering in the F5 is just so much more logical and streamlined compared to the 200 switches in the mig21 to do simple tasks.
  11. just happened to me, forgot about reading this. Real fun to spend 15 minutes starting up and locating targets and THEN when preparing to engage, well I'll just dump the fuel tank and DISCONNECTED.
  12. Shift P turns it on and off I believe
  13. Its very easy to operate, there are no complex systems to mess with, you can crank it up and be combat ready in a relatively short amount of time. It is hard to master, however, so you will spend many hours learning its mechanics. I've really enjoyed it because you don't really have to know how to work a bunch of intricate systems to make it combat effective (unlike the A10C). If you bind the radar functions (DM, DG, and search) to your throttle, that's about all you need to dogfight. Dropping bombs is as simple as arming them and letting loose.
  14. Is this spot light an actual light in real life? Or a bug? It comes off and on with the navigation lighting. I attached a video of it in NTTR 2.0.5. After a sketchy lift off, notice the spot light on the ground.
  15. Couldn't be more well said. Any kind of "balancing" or "nerfing" absolutely discredits DCS as a simulator. The whole idea of a simulator is to depict the performance of the a/c and systems as close as possible to the real thing. The term overpowered should not exist in simulators, expertly engineered would be more correct.
  16. Target showed up as a rectangle on the radar, no x in target box on hud. Said UNK on bottom of radar screen. this was on the 99th 2.0.5 server.
  17. I exploded a friendly M2000 with an AIM 120 last night. Is the IFF a WIP or am I a dumbass? Definitely felt like a dumbass on the server last night.
  18. Anyone else amazed that one little bolt holds the entire force of the plane catching the cable?
  19. Again guys, thanks for the input. I'm looking at picking it up this weekend and giving it a go. As far as the A10C goes, it just has not interested me enough to purchase it over the FC3 A10. I appreciate how complicated the systems are, but fighters are more my thing. The module I look forward to the most right now is the HARRIER. I spent 8 years in the US Marines, including some time on a LHD, and watching them take off and land was a thing of beauty. I was hoping the Mirage module would be high quality, because it should be a good indicator of the quality of the upcoming Harrier module. Looks like good things are coming our way from RAZBAM.
  20. Thanks. I don't have any experience purchasing early access modules so I am a bit wary. I have a fear that the end product may not meet expectations.
  21. Winner!!! Although I'm not entirely sure what aircraft it came off. It's pretty cool though. Makes a good paper weight.
  22. Test your knowledge!
  23. Thanks for your input. Sounds like it may be worth buying now. Currently only own FC3 and F5E. What servers do y'all fly on? I don't play online with anyone currently.
  24. Question for you Mirage drivers: How is the module as it sits today? Do all of the systems work? Have the major issues been patched? I'm looking to get a new plane, but most of the info I can find about the Mirage is dated several months ago and points out tons of bugs. What are your thoughts? Any major deal breakers still out there? Thanks.
