Will they model shrapnel? I've read about splash damage issues with other weapons. I wonder the flak will be simulated.

Anyone know if the sound effects are different for things like the engines and gun from the A-10A? I fully understand the FC3 systems are nothing compared to A-10C, but I am curious if the sounds are the same.

Good info here. I initially started trying to out turn the f4 because of all the info I have read. Every documentary about f4 vs MiG21 says the f4 couldn't hang in a turning fight, instead they would use vertical maneuvers to win. It appears the opposite is true in DCS? MiG is still fun to fly, just having trouble being effective in air to air.

It looks good to me, I just think in Zeus images, the field of view is out a little more. If you compare the video of the Spanish Harrier, the hud is in view without the mfcd. If you adjust the FOV in the sim to reflect that, I bet it looks larger. Either way this is day one buy for me. Love the Harrier.

I haven't tried an overshoot, but how do you make him overshoot? Just kill all your speed?

Share your tactics for fighting in the MiG-21. Personally, I cant even defeat the F4 instant action dogfight mission. I turn into the F4 at the merge and with in 30-45 seconds, my RWR is indicated a lock on because hes on my 6. What are your moves with the Fishbed? I obviously haven't mastered it yet.

Birds are set to zero. I'm leaning towards a random failure. I used them again without issue. The joy of MiG-21 ownership. It might work, it might not! Adds to the excitement.

Experienced this last night on 99th NTTR server. Using SPRD-99 for take-off, engine shut down shortly after rotating. You can see the aircraft maintained 1.1 G, and it just shuts down. Someone tell me what I did wrong or was it just a random failure?

On the Heatblur website it shows Viggen price slashed to 47.99. When I put it in the cart, showed up 59.99. I'm a sucker for sales. Is this a mistake?

Thanks for the info. I did find it odd that after firing a missile, the pilot would have to physically turn the selector to the next pylon. I chalked it up to Russian engineering. Interesting points about the flight model as well. Obviously I've never flown a MiG21, so its hard to know what isn't modeled correctly. I hope these issues are addressed, would make the MiG21 a lot more effective in combat.

Could you elaborate a little more on some of those issues? Specifically the flight model and weapons selector? What about them needs to be corrected?

Mig21 is a great module, i havent noticed any issues in 1.5 or 2.0. I will caution you though, the module itself is extremely well done, but because of this, you really get a feel for how awful the MiG21 is. Systems randomly fail, the engine is very tempermental, sometimes the radar doesnt work, landing slightly rough will break stuff, etc. The plane is touted as the AK47 of planes, but it is not very reliable, and overly complicated. You really have to know what you are doing to get the most out of it, so expect to spend quite some time learning. Its not like the F5 where you can basically just jump in and go. It's fun to fly, but expect there to be problems with the plane, not the module. Aside from its quirks and complexity, the module feels great flying. One of the best cockpit modeling ive seen, especially the lighting. I got it in the fatherland sale and have really enjoyed it.

The Gunny's Take on Normandy Great job on the Normandy Map, I enjoyed the live stream. The following is my own personal opinion, which by most standards, is absolutely worthless. Here's my 13 cents on it: Looks great, but I wont be buying it until its bundled with a WW2 aircraft. The map doesn't look like it would be much fun in a modern aircraft, its relatively flat, no paved runways, etc. Seeing as I don't own any WW2 aircraft yet, it only makes since to wait for the bundle. I did the same with NTTR. You can usually end up getting a module and the map for about $60, which ends up being about 50% off. Here's my main issue stopping me from buying it now: What is really that much different about it than the Caucasus map? I mean fighting ww2 aircraft over the coast of the black sea doesn't really look that much different, honestly it looks like more fun because of the terrain elevation differences (my opinion). I can see the appeal of fighting over a period specific map, but then again, that makes it pretty worthless for anything but ww2 planes. Like I said this is just my opinion, I know many people have backed this map for several years. I just don't see the appeal without some other incentive, like a P-51D/Normandy bundle. I might pick up the standalone units pack, would be fun to have 20-30 B17's bomb vegas.

Sorry I didn't realize you had access to the stats on how many machines it affected. If you jump online, there's plenty of players in NTTR servers. I haven't noticed a drop off. Like I said it was just a guess.

I've had zero issues with it, I've a got a fairly new system. Windows 10 sky lake etc. the issues are affecting a small number of systems and nobody knows why. Even ED said they couldn't recreate the problems, but they don't deny they exist for certain people. I'm guessing it's affecting people with older versions of windows etc. just a guess though

Noticed the animation seems to be missing or messed for canopy glass on ejecting. It just vanishes. Is this a known issue or a new bug? In 2.0.

Well boys, looks like its time to delete DCS World. An in-progress module is not up to random dudes idea of what an F14 Hud refresh rate should be.

so this has always been a problem? I've only had DCS for about a year. Kind of defeats the purpose of even saving a track if it doesn't work though?

Anyone notice Mig21bis acting wierdly in 2.0 on track views? I just flew a quick mission and landed, however, when viewing the track, the plane crashes into the ground near the runway. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

question here. Is there any carry over from ED's A-10C LITENING pod, or are you left creating your own version? I always wondered how much of ED's systems was shared between the modules considering how many of them shared the same NATO technology.

The harrier was also one of my favorites in US Navy Fighters back in the DOS days.

Is that weapon selector page displayed on the pilot helmet? Or is that just because it's being worked on? As a former Marine, the harrier will be a day one pre purchase for me.
