  3. Seems like a shader/lighting engine problem. The light should not penetrate solid steel behind you...
  4. Seems after further testing the problem is mainly occurring on the Caucuses firing range mission in Instant Action for the Hind. Running smooth on Marianas firing range for 'Shark 3, as well as smooth on Syria firing ranges for both Hind and 'Shark 3.
  5. Ever since the latest open beta/live update my sim has unplayable hitching and stuttering. I used to have butter smooth framerates before. Nothing has changed on my system. My drivers have not changed. Literally nothing else has changed except DCS World's version update. That's all. Other games run fine. DCS is porked. Unplayable now. The sim is a paperweight. Help. Please. Specs: Windows 10 Pro 7700k @ 4.5 Ghz 1080 GTX 32 gigs RAM 1080p resolution
  6. The light does not seem to be properly occluded by the walls of the cockpit anymore in 2.8+
  7. My example can be easily reproduced by flying the Shark 3 in the Marianas free flight instant action scenario.

This was never a problem in Black Shark 2, but in Black Shark 3, notice the right instrument console and how it is lit by ambient light, but should not be, and instead enshrouded in shadow given the out of cockpit lighting... The panel is blocked from sunlight due to wall of chopper, yet remains lit with gradation towards light source that should not be there. Instead we should see shadows being cast. The cockpit seems to be rendering light through the wall here.
  9. Yep, ground crew pre-alignment is necessary for proper online play. Homie got no time for 15 minute alignment.
  10. I only carry the anti-tank ones online, and they don't even hit. They sail right past the Hueys. What I think Petrovich does is target the rotor mast pole, which is a miniscule target to hit, which they never do.
  11. Using Petrovich to shoot the human pilots in hueys. I have never had one hit. They miss every time. They also miss against AI.
  12. Eh, the Huey often takes 2 - 3+ to bring them down. Be happy. The vikhr actually will hit a Huey, whereas in the Hind the AT missiles miss 100% of the time. Still, I think these iglas feel a bit underwhelming...

  14. OKAY. This is weird. In the E-Shop when I click on Modules all the ones I own say "BOUGHT" beneath them... EXCEPT for Black Shark 2. Except... I do own this, and within my purchase history the store says I own this. Why does it not say I own Black Shark 2 in the e-shop? I bought every module from ED, direct through this site. However, I do own "Upgrade from DCS: Black Shark 1 to DCS: Black Shark 2" That shows that I own. Is the e-shop not counting this upgrade as valid? Why not?
  15. I have the same issue. Here is a small partial snip of my purchase history as proof I own BS2: Still, I see no option for the BS 3 upgrade. What gives?
  16. Those aren't useful against armored tanks, though? At that point I would use a R-60M instead, which are fire and forget.
  17. Another observation: ATGMs will NOT hit UH-1s or Gazelles when in flight. They fly right past them. I have tested this both online and offline and have yet to score a hit. Offline I made a mission where the UH-1s would hover or fly really slow to minimize aiming issues and still, the missiles whizzed past them. What I noticed was it seems Petrovich is holding his aiming crosshair on the T junction of the rotor mast, where the shaft meets the blades. This might explain why they never hit. He will not aim at the helicopter body. I do not have this issue when firing ATGMs at jets.
  18. Any chance adding Soviet S8 and S5 rockets to script? They are woefully undereffective against ground targets in their current non-splash state.

  20. I would love to see proper splash damage on stuff like rockets and dumb bombs. Especially rockets. The S5 and S8 rockets used in the Soviet aircraft, along with the 2.75 inch FFARs in the Apache are seriously weaksauce. They are pretty much dead weight and rarely produce a useful effect. I should not have to magdump both pods into an area of six Humvees to potentially kill one of them. There should be fire, carnage and destruction. If I fire a few into a formation of paratroopers on the ground, there should be fleshy carnage. Instead, rarely are one of them killed. So I lean on my cannon--which oddly does have a bit of splash to it, and is immensely more effective. What I don't understand is the cannon produces almost no explosion, while the rockets make big badda boom. Like a smoke grenade or a flashbang. And that's about all they do. Iron bombs are similar in that they might land next to a target and nothing happens. This is not what Vietnam footage suggests. When these things explode there are shockwaves and carnage. I'd like the same here. Compression waves that hurt stuff nearby. If I iron bomb next to a bunch of ground troops, they're gonna be dead. Yet they aren't. It would be very nice if ED addresses these ordinance shortcomings and improve the experience. Thanks. Edit: Here's some footage to bolster my request: Watch how they impact. Do they look weak? The journalist said two people were seriously injured. In DCS, that man walking next to the explosion would be unscathed. This simply isn't so in practical real world use of the weapons.
  21. Ah. I don't have a bottom tier setup myself, with a Uber II NXT and hall sensor modded HOTAS Cougar + modded pro pedals, but this gear works best with fix wing aircraft. I fly the Hind fine, though, and have no issues. The Apache, however, has this weird rocking and twitching behavior that actively tries to kill me when I barely touch the controls ever since the update this week.
  22. And what would be these HOTAS settings? I see no settings in your signature. After the update this week the Apache is unflyable. It does barrel rolls without commanding such maneuvers.
