hey man, i have not been able to tune in radio Mayak. UHF-2 125687 Khz AM Im not sure what im doing wrong, when I flip the squelch I get static, but thats about all i can do with that thing. any idea what i might be doing wrong. then how can you use the datalink online? Doesn't datalink only work for members of the same flight?

Hey man, I think there is a section of the forums dedicated to that already. Next time your on the forums here, look above the mods section, and I think it says something like, tracks, missions, and campaigns or something. good times.

Have you tried using the vector clip? In my experience, the Track clip is a piece of junk. it's clunky, its wires get in the way, and it doesnt track nearly as good as the vector clip. What's up with that? I wish I had not bought the track clip, and just bought extra vector clips. Try using your vector clip, I bet it works better.

Its' weird, sometimes I swear the trim responds differently, but i suppose it could be because as you learn, your perspective constantly changes, but for the last few days, it seems like my trim only "half" works, like I will have the nose down at say 15 degrees, and then lets say I balance out the collective and the speed, and i achieve a nice stable flight path in whatever direction im going, then i set the trim and recenter the cyclic, but the nose will pop way up on me. I mean like a horse rearing up, my nose will go like way up, i have to control the beast. I find myself using trim less and less, but flying better and better. Dont get me wrong, the trim is an invaluable tool, but the more flight time you get, the more you get a sense of when you really need it, and when you dont. thats my ignorant two cents.

the small wheel on the throttle adjusts my tracking gate size. the larger wheel adjusts the shkval zoom, and precision slide is of course zoom. For those having some problems programming, when you set up the "bands" set up extra bands between the commands and leave them empty. that way you can position the button back to a neutral position, and you wont have that constant input between the two commands you were talking about.

Is there a way to see what each medal is for?

Hey groove, yeah im using a Westell 6100 modem. I just tried again, and i had the firewall completely turned off, but my friend still gets disconnected after 30-60 seconds. yeah, my PC is hooked up directly to the Westell 6100 modem, and that is plugged directly into the phone line. I also assumed that since I was not on a router, I would have no problem hosting as well, but here we are. :) lol

O.K. I have opened the port for 10308 on my modem for TCP. My friend is able to join the server now, but he gets kicked out after 30-60 seconds. I am assuming this is a firewall issue, so through the control panel, I added the 10308 port for TCP to the exceptions, but he still gets kicked. I know I must be close. i would like to keep my firewall up, so when you say i have to open the correct ports, do you mean through the modem? or the control panel, or both?\ Also I only opened, and created the exception for the port for TCP, do I need to add exceptions and open for UDP as well, or just TCP? Thanks again.

Awesome thank you so much. I am installing ICQ now. O.K. I installed ICQ, but when I go to add you as a contact, and I search by nickname, I dont get any results for you. I tried sending you a couple messages via the link you have there, but I dont know if you got them. I also have the modem configured the way they say to do it on portforward.com, but there they say to just do it once, so thats all I have done. I did it for TCP.

Well im still not getting it to work. My router fried a few weeks ago, and I havent gotten a new one yet, so I am hooked up directly to the modem. When I go into the modem and change the settings, i get these options: Global Port Range: (I put) 10308 - 10308 Base Host Port: (I put) 10308 Then I set that for TCP, and then I repeat the process exactly the same for UDP. Am I doing it right? There is no option there for my IP address. I know you guys said to configure that through the control panel right? This is driving me nuts. Should I be entering an IP into the Base host field?

Hey guys, I use the precision slide for my zoom, and i use the wheels for other stuff, but i have found when you get that "chopppiness" with the zoom, it is usually because you have another zoom function/command enabled, and they are fighting with each other. EDIT: If you find that isnt the case, you may want to try using your precision slider, it works well for me. I use the big wheel for adjusting shkval zoom, and the smaller wheel for adjusting tracking gate size. Make sure you program it to have a bit of a buffer zone, where there is no input.

Roger that guys, Thanks for the replies. When I tried to open a port earlier, I thought I could just do it from the control panel, but that didnt work. I just went into the router and opened them. I hope it works, I will get to test it out in an hour or so. I will let you guys know if it worked or not. Verana, what do you mean "settle your host PC's local IP"? I just went into the router/modem, and opened up 10308 for TCP, and UDP. I hope I did it right. I just typed 10308 into all the fields. Thanks again for the help everyone, I really appreciate it.

Hello, I have been trying to host a game for a friend and I, but he says that when he tries to connect, he gets a "connection interrupted" error. I have DCS as an exception in the windows firewall settings, and I tried opening port 10308. That didnt work, and I really dont know what im doing so i set it all back to default. anyway I have the same problem with lockon, where people cant connect to me. I have a good connection, and the guy im trying to play with just lives a few miles from here. Anyway, can anyone help me out here, do i need to open a port? which one? and can i just do it through the security settings in the control panel? thanks. I appreciate the help.

Jeez what a rip-off. even fifty bucks sounds steep. yeah when i was younger, I went down to the copy shop with a bunch of my favorite album covers, and had them blown up in full color high quality posters. I was thinking how smart i was that I was going to have the coolest posters for dirt cheap. I remember when they were all done they told me how much it would cost, and I didnt even have enough money. I just took off. Then I went to another place and just did smaller lower quality black and whites. Im a bad person. Oh well though I was poor and just wanted something to put on my wall. 700.00 bucks though, i dont see how they can justify that at all. I mean how many of the pages even HAVE color. sorry ED but the most I will pay for the manual is about 20.00 bucks plus shipping, I hope you guys dont get them published at kinkos. lol.
