Thanks Diveplane, at least I know its not just me. What a bummer though, I thoroughly researched before buying, and I decided on mytraffic 2010 because it said it was the easiest one to use...... I cant believe not one single reviewer that I read mentioned the light problem. Thats a pretty huge problem for a traffic program if you ask me...... And on top of that........I cant find anything anywhere about others discussing that they too are encountering the same problem. Seems Odd..... Do you have a link to any information regarding this issue? Anyway I think ill just spring for trafficx. I just want my traffic and everything all set, so I can just enjoy flying for a while without thinking about how im missing this, or i want to add that...... My hdd is about completely full now anyway thanks to all the wonderful FSX Addons ive discovered. Trafficx looks like it only takes up 3.0 gigs hdd space compared to the approximate 10 that MT2010 is using. Before I go ahead and get it, would you mind commenting on how easy trafficx is to set up and get running? Is it fairly automated, or do I have to actually plan all flights for the whole dang world and what not? I really want something I can just install, and start enjoying right away. Maybe later on ill be more interested in customizing settings...........but right now I really just want to fill up my airports and sky with aircraft, with little to no effort. Any comments or insight you have on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Hey guys I have a problem that I could use some help with. I have been scouring the internet trying to find a solution, but so far I have had no luck so I thought I would try here. I recently installed MyTraffic2010, and im pretty happy with it, except that i have noticed that the AI traffic nav/strobe lights dont seem to be working, or working properly. They dont seem to give off any light. its more like a static red light on the wingtip that proves useless for identifying other traffic because you cant see the lights until you can see the whole damn airplane anyway. I cant see any AI aircraft nav/strobe lights. Anyone Know how I can make those lights brighter? I have 3d lights redux as well, but i dont know how to add that to all the aircraft in mytraffic,(the documentation is horrible) or if that would even work if i knew how, so i at this point i dont even know if i want to bother down that avenue. Any help is greatly appreciated. Here I was thinking that I finally got all the addons i could possibly want for a while..............its always gotta be something doesnt it......... I could always see AI traffic lights easily with default traffic, now that I have mytraffic 2010 I cant see the lights. I do see landing lights, and tail lights, just no strobe or nav.

Hey Diveplane, I would like to join you for some FSX flying. I enjoy sharing the cockpit. Do you have ATC on? Because the few times ive tried to fly online with fsx, nobody has ATC on, and I strongly prefer to fly IFR. Makes it so much more realistic and immersive. I prefer to have a flight plan, and all that good stuff, and follow the ATC directions. Im also curious if fspassengers can be used when playing online? not sure if you know or not, but I love the program. Anyway I wont be able to fly for another couple of hours, but I hope I can get a chance to play with you. Ill keep an eye out for your server tonight. BTW what part of the country are you in? k guys im bringing this back from the dead HOPEFULLY for the last time. it appears my post on the vaseline was made a bit too hastily. Long story short the vaseline no longer works. It has its own problems, it evaporates, and in the end it just stops working even after a fresh application. So while I dont use liquid fabric softener, I do use those fabric softener sheets that you throw in the dryer with your clothes. I cut a piece of one off, cut a hole in the center, and placed it under that annoying plastic piece under the spring (re-centering mechanism). Its working like a charm. I have been using it that way for weeks, as I wanted to make sure it was a viable solution before updating this. 159th Viper was the one to suggest fabric softener, and it works!! Good call Viper, :) Again im using fabric softener sheets, so i cant comment on the liquid softener.

I havent played DR, but i had to chime that, I too have started getting that motion sickness on occasion. Its very random, and usually after ive had a few drinks, but it NEVER used to happen to me. Theres literally been times when I had to just kind of fall out of my chair and crawl away to get away from the monitor. lol. Quite embarrassing even if no-ones watching.

YES! YES! YES! YES! YESSSSS! Very good news. Ill admit, I had some issues with FSX in the past, but it was really due to my own hardware limitations. I had some hardware upgrades recently, and now I cant get enough FSX. With the right addons, its just spectacular. Im thrilled to hear the aces are back! :)

nevermind, the documentation i have says the command is "cntrl+" but the in game options show it as "cntrl=" so it works fine now.

wowzers, i just checked out that mechwarrior 5 trailer on youtube. it says its all in-game footage. It looks fantastic! I havent played mechwarrior since i was a kid. There was one I really liked, but then some of the ones after didnt do it for me. This one looks like great fun though. When this game hits everyones gonna want a 14 foot mech in their garage to go play in. lol. hell I want one now. Its a great pit man, easily one of my favorites.

As im gaining more knowledge about the radar and weapon systems, I have been expanding upon my flight sticks f-15 profile. However when I try to add the command "cntrl+" to my profile using sst tools, it will enter this instead "cntrl=". pressing the shift key while adding the command results in "shift cntrl=" which obviously isnt going to work. I tried using the "+" sign on the numpad, but that is not the right "+" sign and wont function. The function itself is to narrow the focus of my radar to 30degrees, for a focused scan of the airspace in front of me. If theres no other way to add the "+" to the sst tools, I guess Ill have to reassign the command to be something other than "cntrl+" in the lock on options. I just wanted to see if there was a way to make it work with the original command before doing so. also if anyone has any suggestions as to what to change the command to, that would be appreciated as well. Obviously I want something that is not going to interfere with any other commands. Oh yeah its an X52 using sst tools.

hey guys, just wanted to update this. I did end up trading in my old x52 for a new one. The new one worked great for approximately 3-4 weeks. Then the exact same same issue came back. I put the gun oil I have on it and it actually makes it worse. (i did not use ballistol as Frazer suggested just because i didnt have it). I did go and buy a thing of vaseline, and apply that, and it seems to be working. Nobody even looked at me funny when I went through the check out line with a six pack of budweiser, a pack of cigarettes, and a tub of vaseline either. These days im not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing. I just wanted to update this as, I am sure many people with X52's will experience this issue. I was hesitant to put vaseline on it before, but after taking my first X52 apart, I saw the guts were pretty well slathered with grease anyway, and that vaseline could be applied to the stick safely without risk of any damage or anything. So there you have it folks. I hope you enjoyed this story about me rubbing vaseline on my stick as much as i enjoyed doing it.

does anyone know if its possible to create a phantom/ghost plane on FSX?

Isnt the reason hyprelobby wont work for him is because he doesnt have flaming cliffs yet, so hyperlobby wont find the gamepath?

Can you guys please add the ability to create a phantom plane or planes to practice formation flying with. I am sure many people would enjoy this feature, myself included. As it is now, you need two computers running lock on to use the "phantom tool" to fly with your own phantom plane. Theres got to be an easier way for people to practice and enjoy this kind of flying.

Wow thats awesome! Ive only had Il-2 a short time, i really like it. Are there servers that allow these planes to fly online? Also was there any kind of terrain mod, or is it just the planes?

Im going to see if i can put a basic/but realistic solo demonstration together. Id love to participate in some way. I just read over the registration, and requirements, i have a question for you Frazer. I dont have a fancy logo or anything, and i obviously dont have a team name or anything, are solo pilots required to submit Logos and stuff, or can i just fly a solo demo without all that? I could just submit an American flag or something. Whats the ruling on that, do you know?

cool thanks frazer, i didnt realize the berkuts server was up during the week. it runs about 9-11 AM during the weekdays according to the schedule, and then about 7Am-3PM on saturday and sunday. (my timezone). Yeah ill have to start using it more. guess thats about the only game in town for me. Its great that you guys provide that for the community, i still cant help but wish there was something up more permanently, so that I can play at my convenience, and for longer durations. Kinda tough for me to get on and fly first thing in the morning during the week, oh well though, ill have to figure something out. Thanks Frazer.

seriously, I really want to do formation/aerobatics so if anyone else reading this is interested as well, speak up. :) I built this computer and everything just for it, and its been over a year, and I havent been able to get much going in regard to formation/aerobatics with other players. Very puzzling, and frustrating. I thought there would be more interest in this kind of flight, as its the funnest, and takes the most skill. So if you are interested people, SPEAK UP! I just found the Phantom tool for practicing flying with a phantom plane, which is great for practice. However, you need a second PC to run it off of so you can fly with the phantom plane, and i dont have a second PC. :( If anyone has a second PC laying around that they wouldnt mind setting up as a dedicated phantom server, that would be veeeerrrry much appreciated. ;) BTW@Bearitall: you keep talking about your wife that way and people are going to start taking you seriously lol!

Hey Funkster, yeah you have to get flaming cliffs before we can fly together. Hyperlobby is easy enough to set up, its basically the server browser. I live in America, pacific time. I Usually play in the afternoons/evening/night.

yeah for sure. What happens is certain days of the week I try to give the misses some peace and quiet at night. She deserves it. I still listen in on TS during those times though. I just dont speak. The rest of the time im good to go.
