ED SIMS SCREENSHOT AND VIDEO THREAD!!!! (NO USER MODS OR COMMENT)
pauldy replied to rekoal's topic in Screenshots and Videos
Somehow your machines remind me of Macross Stuff :) -
Performances aside, wouldn't traditional delta fins be cheaper to produce than Lattice ones?
-
In my experience, The Shilkas will only illuminate you with radar once your close to their firing range. Haven't tried fighting against Strelas though.. I believe it's not really the A-10's job to take them out anyway. It's the SEAD planes that should face them. :)
-
Impractical since the "folding action" of the lattice fins adds to the complexity of the missile.. at least to its mechanical side.. oh well, just my casual observation~ :) Anyway it'll be removed from the R-77 system.. And that's a MOAB right?
-
So they plan to take out the "potato masher" Lattice fins of the R-77? That lattice fin design seems impractical for internal storage anyway.. at least for me..
-
Well maybe some people would be interested taking that "Ka-50" somewhere else other than the Black Sea area~

Would you pay for another Addon to Lock On ?
pauldy replied to 104th_Crunch's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
No for me.. because we already paid for a software that has problems. The least ED can do is fix it somehow.. not another flyable plane that could divert priorities even further... For new airframes, i rather go for the DCS series instead. -
I like the sunset version better~ Same here~ Can't wait for the C-Hog =D
-
needs moar aerial transformers... the other seekers and the aerialbots. Though i kinda liked Jetfire too.
-
I can obtain an IR Maverick Lock at 4 or 5 nautical miles. Although i try to fire the mav at a closer range. I do remember some players stating a map bug in lock on wherein your a-10 can not lock anything.. at novorossiysk area? not so sure... Also take note the the Maverick K is not optimized for night missions since it uses a TV seeker. ---- EDIT: Kuky beat me to it =D

Awesome i must say~ a refreshing look for the eagle pit :) -
Patch 1.13 Requested Features/Fixes List (*Merged)
pauldy replied to Colt40Five's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
forget my sig~ I was supposed to change it.. just forgot to do so.. It was something that came to my mind in a flash after watching those Sulfur Hexaflouride videos.. Though yep, my joke theory as to why missile ranges are short in game ;) .. -
Patch 1.13 Requested Features/Fixes List (*Merged)
pauldy replied to Colt40Five's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
~Fix the Flight Model inconsistencies when restarting/reloading a mission~ This happens when i try to reload a given mission. All aircraft (except the Frogs) feel "heavier" when you load a mission the second time around onwards. The engines also seem to be a bit less responsive than the 1st time the mission was loaded. Though i haven't tried if this also occurs in multiplayer.. -
I was actually considering to disable/remove those tower commands. I believe real world pilots don't hear the above or below glidepath radio messages (except in carriers though..) ..oh great idea~ I'll disable it :D So that i can be more attentive to the runway picture/instrument changes in IFR. I tried approaching by the AoA Indexer, it makes a bit of sense. I don't really porpoise much. Anyway it could be the scripted landing in game. Although it makes the A-10 apporach at low nose attitudes. Kinda similar to the landing profiles of airliners. EDIT: Oh noes, it's not practical to disable.. tower could end up saying "<Callsign> 1-1, tower your ........." :( I wish it could be removed.
-
~bump~ So players don't use it? guess i'll have to use airspeeds then.
-
I was wondering if Hog users are using this in landing. It does make sense when in landing an aircraft. It's the AoA or maybe the pitch attitude that's always constant. The Airspeed will vary based on aircraft weight that's why some aircraft have "Speed Booklets" Maybe this is the indicator i must always take note? and not much the airspeed? I do remember that when landing the F-15 in game, i rarely check the airspeed, I just maintain a constant AoA range in the approach until flaring.
-
That A-10C feature looks nifty.
-
Just let Wags and the ED team work~ :) It'll come when they have it completed for us. :)
-
I never knew the Diamond represents the Pave Penny "Function".
-
I'm getting a bit confused. So the AoA indicator in the Hog tells the pilot what AoA to fly, in not the current AoA of the plane? Another thing, the real A-10 has Autotrim like the F-15?
-
Probably uses target coordinates. It's kinda similar as how to a naval target is displayed in the Su-33 HUD in game. Albeit the real world Hog doesn't have 360 degree target track. Maybe the people who know more about Hog could explain if there's such tracking ability.
-
As long as ED patches our current Flamming Cliffs to fix the major problems, it's fine by me. Although i'm also looking forward to the A-10C. Still i hope for more Fighter aircraft in the DCS series~ :)
-
Sorry if i derailed my own topic~ Anyway, Last Question to the Eagle People, Do you always fly in Military power? or use it only when necessary? Maybe I got spoiled in the A-10 being in full MIL most of the time~ :)
-
Well at least not to think about fuel way too much, as if i'm computing for landing weight based on fuel, etc, etc.. Things that commercial pilots do.. but yah, i'm not really ignoring the fuel of the plane. Fuel is life for the jet. but I'll still enjoy this as a PC Software though. I don't really fly by GS. I just use it as reference when navigating. Of course i wouldn't be using Ground speed when already in battle. I'll be on IAS instead. :) I remember posting something similar back then, 350-400 KIAS was a good flight speed right? Edit: oh nevermind~ I found it in one of my previous Threads~ :)

Do you like realistic mission lengh in campaigns
pauldy replied to jpm1's topic in User Created Missions General
Depends on the type of aircraft to be used i think. Fast action is good for frontliner aircraft like the MiG-29, the Su-25 or the A-10. Long ones fit the Flanker or the Eagle.
