  1. Oh yah~ Why am i worrying about fuel consumption~ I'm not flying an airliner~ :doh: Anyway, I'd just use 25,000 feet as an average operating altitude~ :)
  2. Another LOFC Eagle ailment? Sighs~ anyways what's the ideal lbs per hour value? I think my lil aviation knowledge is messed up but fuel consumption varries at altitudes right? or was it engine oil pressure..
  3. Isn't it when the higher you go, the the more efficient your jet engines are? Thus higher speeds at lower power settings? I've been doing some high altitude Flights with the Eagle. Seems that 25,000 feet is the best level, since i achieve my highest subsonic Ground speed without using reheat at this Altitude. Usually the plane flies at around 560-570 Knots Ground speed or 0.8-0.9 mach. Any higher, i'll have to use burners just to maintain 560+ GS

  7. After pounding the ground so much, I missed the high skies.. "Missile Test" in the Eagle. Apparently, T-80s could also climb walls
  8. Yah, maybe i'm being a noobie here but.. out of all enemy armor, the T-80 seems to have the highest HP. After dropping CBU-97s, other armored vehicles are already wrecked.. except the T-80 After strafing the tank from 0.6-0.3 nautical miles, the T-80 is still going strong.. Now whenever i expect a T-80 in theatre i go "oh boy, prepare to lose lots of 30mm rounds.." or just hit it with Mavericks if possible.. :doh:
  9. This is the first time we had a major incident involving an A330 (excluding the flight test crash) No matter what caused it.. R.I.P. to the passengers and crew of Air France 447. Condolences to the relatives too..
  10. Jane's F-18 is the only one i have in mind. (cause it's the only one i got from the high fid classics..) They say it's avionics is pretty close to the Real Super Hornet. I've been looking at some VRS Superbug screenies for FS2004 and their displays are quite familiar though with more bonuses. Proves that Jane's did a great job at modeling Superbug avionics. About Jane's Flight model though, they say it lacks.. but at least the carrier ops were also detailed~ :)
  11. I don't know any other air combat simulation simulation games besides those mentioned. Although some classics are still around. Falcon 4, F-18, F-22 TAW, etc. Pretty much most people can't dedicate their time to steep learning curves. I only have 2 flight simulation games installed, Jane's F-18 & Lock On, although i own an F4AF copy too... Maybe majority of modern jets are still classified to be "fully" modeled.. Most people would rather have fewer, but fully modelled aircraft than a gamut of "scripted" planes.. That's why sim developers are few.. not? :) Just my thought.
  12. I dunno if this has been stated already but I think some of the A-10's guages are not in sync.. Particularly the N2 Fan and the Fuel Indicator.. and the F-15's missile launch sequence.. e.g. You're loaded with 6 AIM-120s and a pair of AIM-9s When you don't change to Sidewinders before any missile launch.. The First AMRAAM you'll release will come from the Left outboard station. ..but when you change to the AIM-9 prior prior to any missile launch, the first AMRAAM will come from the front or back left Fuselage stations. :)
  13. Sorry for resurrecting this topic but can someone tell me what is the flare height for the a-10? if i just rely on threshold crosses, my flare heights would be quite in consistent. I'm also thinking 120 knots wouldn't be applicable to all weight configs i tried approaching @ 120 knots on a lightly loaded hog, i was like floating longer than it should. And i'm confused.. the tutorial in game says 150-160 knots of approach speed.

  15. i noticed that too. Back in F-18 there's that frag bar on the bomb fall line that i must take not of when dropping stuff or else i'll end up getting damage by my own bombs. and here i am having a reflex of suddenly pitching up away whenever i drop an Mk-82 or Mk-84.. well it's for the better i guess
  16. Thank your very much for the advice Moa~ I'll keep those points in mind :) Although i already installed the Simmod A-10 & the proper compatibiliy packs. Now i'm asking how to fix the mess it did to the Walmis F-15 & 3D weapons as pictured in my very 1st post ;)
  17. I'm just transitioning to the A-10. After being used to fast movers i know this flying gatling gun is different.. -At what airspeeds the A-10 usually flies? especially when on ground attack missions. -How do Hog drivers defend themselves against air defenses like SAMs & AAAs? Back in the Hornet (c/o Jane's F-18 ) i usually jink with speed & acceleration. I believe that's not the case in the A-10 since it's a lot slower -Does the A-10 approach like an airliner? I mean nose low about 0-2 degrees.. back in the F-15, i focus on the AoA and usually land at higer nose attitudes. My current landing technique is to approach at 0-2 degrees then flare passing 25 feet above the runway with nose attitude at 5 degrees. I wonder if i'm doing the correct thing. a more of program stuff: How do i fix these? The sidewinder's rear is missing and it's ignition is way off.. Also it seems that the Walmis F-15 skins were reduced when i installed the simmod A-10. I followed the install order: F-15->Walmis Weapons->A-10->A-10+F-15+weapons compatibility pack. How do i fix this? Thanks for any help~
  18. Ok I tried installing them all. Once again, it ended up borken :D ok so i'll just add the aircraft & terrain mods instead~ but i'm tired now, i'll just re-install Lock on this weekend :joystick: I have a question though.. is that fixpack the one that comes with the Sim mod A-10 package? Sorry i'm just getting into the A-10 :)

Yup, i know it works for the eagle, but in my case it didn't work for the hog. and i tried it in a fresh install situation :) Ironic, the F-15 doesn't have an animated "master arm switch" but "alt+space" can put your weapons system to safe. otoh the A-10 has an "animated Master arm switch" but it doesn't work :doh:
  20. Hi I just re-installed Lock On Flamming Cliffs with the Modman 7 ready, I just want to make sure my install won't go haywire again once i plug in the major mods. The major ones i'm planning to install are: Crimean Air Wars Mod Sim mod Reload (Terrain mod preferably the version for slower PCs) Walmis F-15 Walmis Weapon Pack Simmod A-10 3GO Su-27 My question is, are any of these mods incompatible with one another? I had Sidewinder Problems with the Simmod A-10 in the past. The missile ignition trail/smoke is not aligned with the Sidewinder. I've read something about the A-10 model incompatibility with Walmis weapons.. Thanks :)
  21. I dunno if this was mentioned before but the A-10's Master Arm switch function is not working. Even after pressing alt + space, the munitions will still launch.

  23. I guess i'm also a fanboy if i say the the F-15's HUD Pitch ladder fonts are too small~ (The A-10 also has this problem..) and that the Eagle's back up instruments are not functioning correctly~ but yup~ it's an issue i hope that would also be fixed should Eagle dynamics make a patch..

I second this one~:D at least with the AI, they still shout at you saying "look at me i'm here" no matter how low they are because of their jamming signals~ now about the topic.. well i do that zig-zag snaking drag to the missile.. since the TEWS of the Eagle doesn't give aproximate missile distance unlike the Russian RWR. anyway i'm weak and always get smacked by Activer Radar Missiles most of the time :)
