Absolutely! It doesn’t really matter what’s OP or not. At the moment the damage model is so horrible that nothing is historically accurate. The 109’s can prop hang for days without over heating and that needs to be fixed but other then that the other issues are DM related. One bullet to a 190 (dead engine), one bullet to a 51 (engine dead or pilot dead). 200 50cal rounds to a 109 sets him on fire and he loses a wing. Still flying and combat effective. Saw that happen just yesterday on the MP server. I would normally say that the 50cal rounds are super weak and very under represented for their destructive capabilities. However, with the current DM a 109 is practically indestructible so who really knows? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Eekz I think that would be great idea! It’s real easy to become a full on air quack server. I think there are a lot of players that would prefer a mission objective style of game play. Not to compare other sims but il2 BOS is great this regard. If your able, maybe take a look at some of the BOS server missions and pull from them for inspiration. =BURNING SKIES= WWII Server Eekz the airfield distance on Normandy is awesome!!! Can we have a second target area maybe north or south of the current one. That would be great!!! Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

From what I know the mod is server side. The player just needs to either turn on labels in game or have the labels on by default to utilize the mod. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Eekz your Air start P51’s are to close to hangers. I tried 3 of them and they all ran into hangers before I could take player control. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I think the only time it’s an issue is if you let the engine get overheated. Keep in mine that over heated is not out of the green arc, it’s actually past the red line and almost pegged on the temp gauge. There’s always heating and cooling happening as the auto radiators open and close. If you get the engine really hot on the way up, it will cool down really fast on the way down. The temp gauge will climb well out of the green arc when you climb and come back down into the green arc when you dive. It’s really all about the air flow through the radiators. The 15min is based off continuous use. Meaning nonstop for 15min. If you see the temps rise and your getting close to redline, just pitch down a little and allow more air flow through the radiators. Burning Skies Traffic? That happens from time to time, usually either Eekz has pulled it down to work on the missions or the server has crashed and he doesn’t know about it. I’m sure it will be back up soon. Usually in 2.2 If Burning Sky’s went down then ACG would fill up. But that’s using the Normandy map and I know lots of guys coming from 1.5 don’t have it. However, I recommend it along with the ww2 assets pack. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

Go to the multiplayer section inside DCS, once you select the server you like to play on, look down at the bottom in the description. If that server uses Team Speak, the team speak number will be listed there. Take it and put it into the (I believe) it’s the connect section at the top in TS. Put the number in and hit connect. It should connect for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Times very but mostly evenings if your Europe based and mid to late afternoon for US based. This is kinda of an average but it changes all through the day and evening. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Also don’t wait to start multiplayer. Once you can land and take off then jump in. Yes, you’ll get shot down a lot, but you will speed up your learning time ten times faster. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

[emoji106] alright! Glad you gotta figured out, just remember your weakest in those mid teen altitudes because you can’t produce 100% engine power. Up high 109 and 190’s know this and will try to keep you there. Best to be 10,000 or lower or above super charger altitude when fighting. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

Climbing Beyond 15,000 ft Yes it should always be in the run position (1st notch). Emergency setting is never really used! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

Climbing Beyond 15,000 ft That is strange indeed! Are you sure the super charger is kicking in? You should get a boost in your Manifold Pressure once it kicks in. If it doesn’t then your performance is gonna top out around 13-17 thousand feet. It’s sounding to me like that’s what’s happening, but it could also be something funky with the module install. You may need to remove it and re install it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

Climbing Beyond 15,000 ft Hard to say without actually seeing your actual cockpit setup. However a couple things to check. First make sure your boost pump switch is on, its just to the left of the starter. Second make sure your radiator coolant and oil radiators are both auto. You’ll see two black cover switches on the left just under the canopy. If the black switches are up then your in auto. Also check your heats, the two knobs on the left just under the radiator switches and above the flap lever- make sure there both forward. Next make sure your climbing with proper engine setting and speed. Engine 46’ Manifold that’s top gauge and 2700 RPM, that’s the bottom gauge. (That’s max continues power) Keep your speed 170-200 mph. As you climb the manifold pressure will decrease by 1 inch for every 1000 ft, so you have to continue to ease the throttle forward as you climb to maintain the manifold pressure setting at 46’. If you climb with those perimeters you can easily reach 30 thousand. Your super charger will kick in automatically around 17,000ft. You’ll notice it, its very obvious. Also you mentioned over heating. A common noob mistake on the pony is to try to keep everything in the green arcs. Ignore them, max continues power and combat power are way out of the green arcs. Your temps can also easily run above the green all the way to redline without issues, if you get over redline just level off and get some air flowing through the radiator and it will come back down. Hope that helps! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

Absolutely I concur with both DefaultFace and Hiromachi. The base rush non sense is very Arcade ish and it really takes away from the DCS experience. My recommendation would be to set it up to match a more historical scenario. Example- Both sides usually had to fly to the front lines to perform CAP’s and or Strike missions. Much like you have Normandy setup where the majority of the action is in and around the Delta. Increase the distance between airports from 28nm to maybe 50nm or greater. Create a front line between the two airbases or between multiple airbases. Then more Dog fights will occur over the combat zones because that’s where both sides will meet and not directly over an airbase. Normandy can also be increased. The axis airfields can be moved East of Caen or closer to Le Havre. This would force player to actually put fuel on board and fly to the center of the map. Where you can create a front line. Thanks Eekz just my 2 cents! [emoji13] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I agree, fields are way to close together. We have this beautiful new map. Spread things it out a bit and give us more field options. You can keep the close fields if players really need them but please create a few more fields for the rest of us that like to have some distance. And yes please do away with the weird Blue 51’s. I have no idea why those are even on the server. Thank you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

=BURNING SKIES= WWII Server Eekz what’s your plans for 2.5? Are you gonna rotate maps between Caucuses and Normandy or abandon Normandy? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Thank you! That was most excellent insight and great food for thought. I definitely haven’t been flying like that, I got to work on my mental approach for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Guys, those of you that are good in the 51, how do you turn while staying fast? Had a 109 today just get super slow and doing turns taking away the speed advantage. Any advice? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Thank you, I think part of my issue is not really sensing the speed in the 51. I’ve been flying Spits for a long time and I’m so used to being run down really quickly. I need to relax and realize I have more time in a pony because I have speed. I have no issue being fast and staying fast, just not very good at energy fighting maneuvers . I’ve spent years doing angle and turn fighting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I already knew all that! However it was still good info and I do appreciate you taking the time to post it. Thanks for adding good info to the discussion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I often here people say stay fast. Well I’ve been experimenting lately on MP server. What exactly is staying fast? Today for example I stayed fast but I also spent more time fighting blackouts then successfully maneuvering into position for a gun solution. How do others deal with this? Is there an optimum speed to try and maintain for best energy/ maneuverability or just stay as fast as possible and do very little maneuvering so as not to black out?
