  1. Practiced more with the Hornet and F14, finally was able to take more fuel in a single connect with the F14, here’s my observation. You can move more forward with the F18, move the same distance with the F14 and the basket pops off. Once connected with the F14 I had to stay in the connection spot, I couldn’t move forward of that or it would pop off, seemed to have more play from the connection point and aft a bit, to hold it my formation was slightly further back and not what I would consider in proper formation position. 2. Not me, pure install Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  3. I thought that as well, so I created a mission and slowed every thing down and still experienced the same issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  4. Honestly, I’m doing it the exact same way I do the hornet, I’ve had no issues with the hornet. That’s partly why I’m perplexed by it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  5. I tried it with a custom mission, it was a bit easier but it still feels to me that the amount of play forward and back when connected is to tight. I get connected, pull forward nice and easy, but anymore then a foot or two it pops off. It looks like there’s still plenty of room in the tuck holding formation to remain connected. It appears that my probe goes through the refuel basket and out the other side. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  6. Yea that’s what I’ve been doing, but the hose still pops off every time. I’ve only been doing the AtoA fuel instant action. I’m gonna make a custom mission and try some more and see if maybe it’s just that particular instant action mission Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  7. Interesting!!! I can’t seem to stay connected long enough to take fuel. It’s like there is zero tolerance in the line. I inch up, connect and jester AI will say taking fuel then bloop disconnect. Also seems like there’s some kind of suck hole once connected, I can inch up ever so slightly connect and then it seems like the hose pulls me forward quickly causing me to move out of the formation Spot. Like others the Hornet wasn’t to difficult and I’m having no issue getting connected, just can’t stay connected. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  8. That explains it! I flew online last week in the Pony and had 3 collisions. I was pondering why? I rarely ever have mid airs, then to have 3 in the same flight??? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  9. Operation "Blue Flag Normandy" - 24/7 WWII PvP Campaign - ROUND 1 @xcom How do I switch sides? I selected Red just to balance out the players on at the time. I was thinking I could switch back after the mission ended. Now! I’m stuck on Red, I would have selected Blue it there was anything that would have stated once you select a side you can never go back. That’s makes no sense to me, it states it’s a test server? There’s no current event happening that I’m aware of? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  10. Yes, once you land, eject from the plane. Then you can select roll from the roll menu and it will place you back in the plane at the mission start. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  11. Sounds like you and and your friend are playing different versions. Ie... one playing open beta and one playing the release version. You can check in the main screen lower right corner. You’ll see a version number, both you and your friend need to run the same version to see the same servers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  12. Yes agreed, this same air quick mission over and over is mind numbing boring. Normandy would be more appropriate, or at least change the current caucus mission. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  13. I get what your saying, yes plane spotting is easy, plane identification is very difficult in VR, however that has nothing to do with the server settings and everything to do with VR limitations within DCS. What Eekz said earlier is about the only way to deal with it. You’ll have to map a button to turn off the labels when aircraft get close to help with the identification. Granted, it will only makes the situation slightly better. VR rendering is very different and unfortunately planes don’t really became planes until their within a few hundred yards. It’s gets easier with experience but you’ll always feel like your at a disadvantage with zoom and identification because you are. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  14. Missing Texture? I think what’s actually happening is a corrupt file. Like I said this happened recently during a different update. Everyone that had the issue ran the repair and it fixed it. Just one of those weird things... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  15. Missing Texture? Yea that happened to a few items with the last big update. Run a repair and it should fix it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  16. Confirmed, I’ve seen the same as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  17. Haha you nailed the communications pretty spot on. lol. Well if you didn’t know about WEP then your ok, it’s usage is truly hit or miss and the performance increase is pretty minimal. It is a good way to toast your engine real quick. Your better off without using it but if you do just know your on borrowed time and if you take the slightest hit your engine is done. 18. P-51 vs 109 72” was very historical and so was +25 boost. It’s a lot of info, but if your truly interested you can take a look at this page. Scroll to the bottom! It’s has tons of historical data about the P51 including the actual army air corps clearance from April 1944 releasing the Pony to use 150 octane fuel giving it up to 75” manifold in WEP. There’s also detailed accounts from actual flyers ranging from July 44- March 45 of using 72” manifold during combat. There’s also a few mentions of the 25+ boost used in the Spitfire. http://www.wwiiaircraftperformance.org/mustang/mustangtest.html Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  19. Hahaha OMG [emoji24][emoji24][emoji24] 109 flyers complaining about the P51, Seriously!!! The 109 has every advantage and is practically indestructible! It takes almost every bullet to bring down the K4. I fought one yesterday shot off half’s it’s elevators, took off one aileron, had his engine pouring black and white smoke and he flew away and returned home. The engine never ever fails, doesn’t matter how many bullets you put into it. It never slows down no matter how many holes you put in its wings, fuselage and elevator and it’s always 100% combat capable no matter the damage. The 109 can fart at the current P51 and the govern will blow (98% of the time) or instant pilot death. Not to mention the horrible unreliability of the Pony engine and it’s random failures. I killed a Spit with a 190 yesterday, one burst and it exploded. Nerf!!! Whatever.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  20. I agree, however I’ve been bouncing between 2d and VR this past week. Yes the dots are huge in VR (by product of VR scaling) but they are perfect size in 2d any smaller and they would be to small for 2d flyers. I think the only compromise is what Eekz has done by making the label spotting distance more equal. I recommend binding a button to turn the label off and on so you can remove it as needed. 21. Excellent!!! Enjoy yourself and have lots of fun! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  22. You will need to go into multiplayer, then at the bottom select the middle option “new server”. Then once the new server screen comes up, fill the info in on the top left side (that will be server name and you want a pass word, player limit and your public ip. etc... The right side of the screen is called the “mission list”. At the bottom of the right side select the + symbol, that will open a window for you to load the mission. So navigate to your created mission location, select it, then select ok. If done correctly you should see your custom mission added to the mission list (top right). Once you see that, then select “start” in the lower right corner. That will start your server, once it’s loaded up- Tell your team mates the server name, they should be able to go into multiplayer and see it in the list. Select it, join and have fun. If they don’t see it at first tell them to refresh a couple time. Also very important MAKE SURE YOUR RUNNING THE SAME RELEASE or OPEN BETA VERSION. You can check that on the main screen in the lower right corner after you first load. Hope all that helps! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  23. Ok, you will only need one computer running the mission as a host. The others will join the mission through normal internet connection. On the computer that is hosting go into your router and make sure you port forward using 10308 and the reserved IP address. Important, the static ip and the port forward ip has to be the same or the other computers won’t see the mission in multiplayer. Once thats setup, then you only need to host the mission on the host computer. You will have to start DCS and create a new server before they will be able to join it. I will post those instructions to follow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  24. Question? Are you trying to setup a dedicated server that anyone can join, or are you simply trying to host a multiplayer session so you and your group can fly together? Ones far more complex then the other Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  25. The Spits issue is that the reflections are still there with the canopy open. Why that wasn’t fixed is beyond @&$! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
