  2. I don’t have much experience with a dedicated server, but I do when it comes to hosting coop missions. Couple things to check that haven given me problems. 1) Verify that the DCS version your running on the host and the DCS version your trying to connect are the same release version. 2) your fire wall level is low, ok verify that 10308 is actually “Port Forwarded” on your router. My router actually has a selection called “Port Forwarding”. That should also allow you to set your IP address for the forward as well. 3) I setup a static IP on the hosting computer through windows. Some routers have a self protect feature that will scramble or change your IP address every time you connect to the internet. Creating a static Ip on your host computer will eliminate this issue. 4) Verify on your host computer that you have given the firewall exceptions to DCS.   3. I’m with Boris, sounds like something is wrong. I use a i7 with a 1080 and I’m getting excellent performance with a few minor ASW anomalies, running Rift S with 1.5 Pixel Density. I don’t push my graphics to the max, I use the VR default settings with a bump in pixel density, water and I remove any terrain shadows. (I find them to be ugly) just my opinion. Make sure your not running an increased Pixel Density and MSAA, use one or the other but not both. They pretty much do the same thing and in my experience they don’t play well together. Good luck!   4. This is a bit complex, but you need to “port forward” your router with the port number “10308”. I recommend combing through the forums or checking you tube for your particular router to learn how to do this. Second, I would create a static IP address on your computer. Again “you tube” is your friend. Lastly, make an exception with any firewall software you use to allow DCS access to your computer. This sounds complex and hard to do, but it’s really not. The most difficult part is actually finding the how to because so many routers are on the market and they all have their own way to do it. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  5. =BURNING SKIES= WWII Server Make sure your labels are turned on by default and set to “full” in your DCS settings. If there not turned on by default then the shift f10 for labels will not work at all on the server. The spotting mod for the server is on by default. Selecting shift F10 will select them off.   7. =BURNING SKIES= WWII Server Discord is independent of DCS so you can start discord and the sim in any order. You have a voice channel selected and you have a PTT setup, just make sure in your discord settings that you have the correct audio device selected.   8. I don’t think it should be required but I do think that it has its place and more guys should take advantage of any comms system available. That’s actually how the 362nd got started, It was through mutual meeting and flying on the old Burning Skies Team Speak. If more guys took advantage of server discord comms and developed mutual friendships then that leads to more squads and more community involvement which I think ultimately benefits everyone.   14. =BURNING SKIES= WWII Server You can switch planes at any time while your on the server, your not locked into any particular aircraft or side. There is no SRS for Burning Skies, I think there’s a Discord channel for comms??? but I’m not 100% sure about that. Lots of guys fly with no comms at all or wing up with a friend and us Discord to communicate. [emoji6] The only real issue with VR is (like posted earlier) the identification of friend or foe. It’s pretty difficult in VR but you will learn it over time. Just expect to be shot down a lot until you gain the skill.   16. =BURNING SKIES= WWII Server What are you talking about? I’ve never experienced this push pull and not lose energy bug? In my experience if you push or pull suddenly in the P51 you’ll snap roll or rip off a wing. I have seen many 109’s flyers do this and it’s annoying but that’s a different topic Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  17. This is not isolated to just me, multiple flyers are experiencing the same thing. I saw two P51 and a Spitfire tangle with a single 109 yesterday. All the planes hit with burst upon burst and even the Spitfires cannons couldn’t take it down. All three planes ran out of ammo and had to leave the fight. The Spitfire pilot even made a comment saying “why can’t I shoot these guys down?” As far as latency and packet loss etc...all I can judge by is what I see! When I see hundreds of rounds impacting and the guy starts to smoke or catch fire then I expect them to go down. I’m doing the same thing against A8’s and they go down. When flying the 190, I see Spitfires and P51’s go down. Currently what I’m seeing is that it takes no less then two P51 and nearly every bullet they have to take down a single 109. Also, this just started after the latest update, Prior to this update it was tough to take down the k4 but didn’t take nearly as much as it’s taking at the moment. I’ve been flying this server multiple times a week for over two years so it’s easy to notice changes. There has been issues in the past with other bugs such as the Spitfire bug that kept it off the server for months. So it is possible that the k4 is currently bugged. Nor did I state “inferiority” of the P51, No, I didn’t!!! “You did!” I simply posted my experience so that Eekz would know that something has changed from the last update and not for the better. The K4 has always been hard to kill but it is different now, something changed from the last update on this particular server and not for the better. It’s not just the P51 but also the Spitfire experiencing the same issue. I was posting my experience to make Eekz aware of it and just maybe he would look into it sense it is the forum for his server. So, maybe you should focus less on throwing around accusations and actually add something constructive, and yes plenty of 109 pilots have constantly whined about how hard it is to kill Spitfires and how the 190 MW50 is broken.   19. What is up with the K4? I caught one low and slow over the airfield. I unloaded everything I had into his cockpit. Not only did he fly away on fire, but he was easily climbing as he did it. I had to RTB I used every bullet. ????? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  20. P51D engine problems + other issues In the two years I’ve been flying the P51 regularly (about 12 hours a week), I have experienced all of those scenarios many times. If I use WEP (extremely rare) in a fight or to escape I immediately RTB because engine seizure is coming it’s only a matter of time. I can also confirm that the drop tanks are not working. I’ve tried them in single player campaign missions several times. Switch tanks to the drop tank and the engine will stop from fuel starvation. The most frustrating part is the random engine seizures while at a cruise settings with all gauges reading in the green. There’s no warning or change to the engine just bam instant stop. A real plane that experienced an engine seizure that suddenly would nearly rip it self apart. The automatic cooling always lags behind and it always over heats in the climb. I’ve adopted opening the radiator in the climb to help with cooling. (I shouldn’t have to do that with an automatic system)! If the real P51’s Merlin engine seized as often as this modules does, it would have been scraped and never seen combat because of its unreliability.

  22. [PERFORMS AS EXPECTED] She is sooo slow... Na, it’s not invulnerable, but it’s beefed up or something. Flew other servers and brought it down in two burst, easy peasy. On BS i shot at least 10 of them, hundreds of hits, empty the magazines and the majority of them carry on. Whole squad experienced the same thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  24. [PERFORMS AS EXPECTED] She is sooo slow... Don’t know about the flying part, but in MP it’s worse then the K4 when it comes to absorbing P51 50’s. I spent belts and belts today to watch them fly away. Even had one fly away in a big ball of fire. Didn’t even hurt it. The flashes of fire when you hit are great but it does no damage and only frustrates you to see hundreds of rounds hit and it do nothing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  25. I can second this, I’ve seen very strange stat issues recently. There’s been days where multiple kills never registered, this is after seeing them go in and explode and being the only plane around. I’ve also had stats show up showing team kills when those players weren’t anywhere near me at the time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
