  1. My knee pads are completely mixed up, intermingled with English/Russian, unlike the first mission where they are both separated. Non of my available knee pad pages had any indication of the parking location and I was never informed by traffic control where to go, just cleared to taxi. I had to taxi around one aircraft as it was blocking the taxi way. I only knew where to go when I selected the mission map prior to starting and in there was the indicated parking lot. As for the first artic mission, holy crap that engine surge went through the roof, killed the throttle and pulled a ton of pitch which controlled the RPM, then cut the fuel to the engine and performed a run on landing.
  2. I’ve been noticing in some of the Mi8 campaign mission, that when progressing into a hover from a stationary point on the ground, that no right pedal input is required. There are no heavy Head on winds that may Account for a reduction of pedal input, but for none at all, isn’t right. Anyone else noticed this? Tail rotor trim is off, so is auto pilot assist in the Mi8 specials menu.
  3. I’ve just completed that one, it’s awesome. I went on to do the next one, a maintenance flight. But I be dammed if I know which taxi ramp and location I’m supposed to go to. Because of this, I didn’t complete it and got kicked back to the previous mission again.
  4. Hey, I appreciate your time in working on this. If you have used the super carrier for the campaign, maybe mention that on the DCS purchase page, for potential issues for those who haven’t got it. I enjoy the complexities of the missions and the occasional sneaky hiccups, I love how the engine de- icing kicks in when your on final approach and close to losing translational lift on one of the missions.
  5. I’m normally in that area by 17:10, no later than 17:15.
  6. Yes, I’m well within the required time slots.
  7. Thanks for the quick reply. No, I do not own the super carrier module.
  8. Iv'e given up on trying to accomplish this mission, 10 tries over the past few days. Everything goes well, pick up the general at the airport, watch the Migs takeoff etc. I head to the training area and carrier. I enter the holding pattern, I receive clearance to approach the carrier and to fly directly to landing area No 6. I can see the passenger (pilot) waiting on the right. Upon landing there is no further communication, I wait for 5 mins, pilot outside on the right still standing there. I turn off the engines, open the rear cargo doors and the waiting pilot disappears, no audio/written confirmation. I ask for permission to start-up, its granted. I receive clearance to take off and head back to home plate. No communication whatsoever on the radios/cockpit/cabin crew. I'm unable to request landing permission and upon landing no, communication. I shut down and exit. Final score 27.

    Dust effect

To be honest, I would like to see an increase in density when landing in sandy arid conditions or snow. Brown/white out are real hazards of helicopter operations, it would be great to have that simulated or as an option in settings.
  10. Enroute to the first pick up, I was receiving all the radio transmissions, including the landing preparation. Upon landing however, there was no further instructions or input. I waited for a few minutes, then turned off the engines but still heard nothing. I then took off and headed to the oil rig. Approaching the oil rig, I received the aircraft preparation for landing and landed at the rig. No further instructions. I turned off the engines and approx. 5 minutes later, people boarded the helicopter. I then flew back to our final destination. Upon landing, I received a voice message from the general about a glass of water and my excellent flying skills and how he will inform my commander. It then said in a message, mission ended, your flying has been revoked. Upon ending the mission, it recorded as success and scored me 64. What is supposed to occur upon landing at each of those waypoints? Thanks
  11. I noticed in Mission 1, when restarting the engines up on the mountain, fuel ignition took longer than normal. I presume this will be due the temperature and elevation? It certainly isn’t a bug.
  12. Mission 1: For the past hour I’ve been taxing back and forth in front of the red flags etc. Stopping at various spots and applying the brakes..I was confused with the messages whilst taxing Before I’ve even taken off! So I’m to fly to the mountain first then return and taxi to the crowd?
  13. It was a right bank spiral approach with opposite rudder. At some point I reversed it and I think this may have caused the fuel starvation.
  14. I had an interesting experience whilst flying the Mi8. While at altitude, 9000ft, I decided to kick the aircraft out of trim for a rapid decent into a LZ. I rolled the aircraft to the right and applied opposite rudder, your rate of decent goes off the scale. At some point I lost visual reference to the LZ so I reversed the control inputs, it was shortly after this that I noticed both engines had flamed out. I was too low to attempt a restart and autorotated into a hard landing. Has anyone experienced a similar scenario?
  15. It’s the 19th August here in Australia, I want my Syria map
  16. Hi Guys I’ve just returned to DCS after a 14 month break and tried to update my beta version but failed. I then downloaded the lates Updater exe. and tried to update once again but that failed too. I keep getting a DCS Updater 2.10.1.38 Bad Exception message. I’ve even uninstalled the old DCS beta and tried a new install, but I still receive the same message, any ideas? Thanks
  17. It’s a no from me. We demand realism from the developers in every aspect of our aircraft modules, to “fly” such technical aircraft in an airy-fairy-world defeats the whole object of having realism in a simulator.
  18. Afghanistan will be an awesome map for helicopter missions. Deep valleys, turbulent mountain winds, hot and high altitude operating environments. It would be great if in the new maps they could implement brown out situations; even white out in mountain regions, this would add another critical dynamic to helicopter operations.
  19. I would like to have the blast fragmentation reviewed. I see plenty of video were ordnance is dropped/fired at low level within close proximity to the attacking aircraft and it doesn’t sustain any damage. This is scenario is certainly seen when helicopters are using rockets and are within close proximity of exploding rockets, some footage showing the helicopter flying through the explosion with all the bomb blast fragments flying through the air.
  20. AAA is an integral part of an air defence network. Even though high altitude AAA is not a common commodity in today’s wars, medium to low altitude is. I’ve viewed plenty of YouTube videos of online players undertaking missions with limited knowledge on air defence systems. Typically air defence systems is a mixture of different components that operate at different altitudes and ranges. The idea is to engage the attackers as far away as possible, this causes the aircraft to go defensive, burn more fuel, set in confusion but more importantly, it causes the attacking aircraft to descend during their evasive manoeuvres. This brings them into range of other air defence systems; again causing them to descend further into the range of Radar guided AAA, unguided AAA, manpads and a multitude of other missiles of greater agility and either radar guided and/or heat seeking. Plus every man and his dog with an AK :)
  21. Can someone maybe explain what is going on here. Apart from the English cockpit for the gazelle, the only other mod that works is the armed speed boat.
  22. It would be good to be able to experience sporadic white/brown outs. It adds another dynamic issue to flying a helicopter.
  23. Whole heartedly agree
  24. Thanks to everyone’s input in trying to improve the module, I’m looking forward to seeing the results of your work and dedication.
