On a server today, I got a little bit of damage from heavy ground fire. I noticed one of my fuel tanks was losing fuel, I can’t remember which. I flipped the cross feed switch on in the hope to keep fuel in that tank, I’ll explain why shortly. Just on touch down, the tank gauge showed empty and the No2 engine flamed out. Now, I’ve had this happen before but with the No1 engine, hence this time I switched the cross feed on, in the hope it would transfer enough fuel so my good engine would not flame out. Is the KA50 fuel system really wired in such a way that each engine is fueled by its own individual fuel tank? Surely that can’t be right?

Did anyone else notice that the engine temperature gauge on the front cockpit section were not working? Great tease video though, looking forward to it.

Hmmmm, an update in the middle of the week. Could this indicate a possible module release on Friday? I so love starting rumours

Confused? How about having a simulator within the game. Basically you with a buddy, can sit in the game whereby one of you flies the a/c and the other sits in front of a panel and can instigate emergencies. I realise we can set up certain emergency scenario in ME, but if you plan it, then you are anticipating it, as Sully says, the human factor has been removed.. The person monitoring would receive indications of the pilots actions by way of indicators of systems being turned off or activated etc. It would create great learning material as you would receive immediate feedback from your mate, or if you are an instructor for a sqn etc. especially with the complexities of the modules. It would enable the guy monitoring to reset the issue in flight rather than to have to exit the “ mission”. It could also allow the guy monitoring to spontaneously place AAA/SAM defences.

What would be nice for all modules, is the ability to slide down the sun visor on the helmet as and when it’s required.

I bought the campaign the other day, and this morning I completed mission 1 & 2 without any issues. Albeit, both Hinds couldn’t make their minds up whether to land or not at mission end.

Well I’m glad it makes sense to me. The DCS-Updater is version 2.11.1.83 Is that the correct one? Thanks

Unfortunately, I receive crashes most of the time, if I exit a server, without going via role selection, it causes a crash. I'm still unable to select the "send" button when a crash occurs, the alt + tab, brings the crash window to the front, but my mouse cursor does not appear on the open crash window/send report. dcs.log-20210508-000327.zip dcs.log-20210502-011058.zip dcs.20210508-224912.crash

I thought some may find this interesting........ I think I may have posted this within the wrong subfolder for the Hind, my bad.

I’m just a rotorhead, so I’m desperately waiting for the Hind to be released. In need of some stick time in something new

I think the green bar relates to the fact you are playing in arcade mode and not simulated.

I was on a server today and decided to take off from a mountain FARP. Outside temperature was -25c at an elevation of 9800 feet. I connected to ground power, turned on engine anti-ice, powered up the APU and waited for a few minutes. Engine spool up was really slow and only cranked to about 1700rpm, opened the fuel valve, but it did not ignite. I tried multiple ways, including not turning on de-icing, but to no avail. Is the elevation and temperature enough to inhibit an engine start, or am I missing something?

I've been experiencing crashes for the first time in DCS, typically when exiting one server to then go and join another. I get the option to send a crash report to DCS but I'm unable to select the send option. I'm in VR so the crash notification is only visible when I remove my headset, but how do I select the send button as my cursor is not visible of the crash notification window.

To put it simply for the non pilots, I’m sure most of you have a drivers license and drive a car regularly. Just take a moment and think about driving. All your actions are instinctive, based on experience and muscle memory. You feel the resistance in the car when you turn the wheel, change road surfaces, incline, wind, at the same time you subconsciously depress the accelerator to compensate. You don’t look at the steering wheel as you turn it, you don’t look where the gear stick is so you can manipulate it, you don’t look down at the pedal to see which one you are pressing and by how much, it is all instinctive. Now with that in mind, go and play a driving game and compare your realise experience and sitting in your room in front of a monitor. A simulator is good for real pilots for practicing procedures, following checklists, converting from one system to another, however, every real pilot will tell you that their military or civilian flight simulators give very little to no physical feed back in how that aircraft is flying, seat of the pants feed back.

Hmmmm, flying a gunship into harms way, with a cargo area full of munitions, sitting on top of a fuel cell. If we have any Russian aviators or any one with military experience in working with the hind, how long would it take a crew of two, to unpack boxes of rockets, attach warheads and insert them into the launches. I doubt loading ammunition for the cannon wouldn’t be feasible, for the same reason for the Cobra mini guns in Vietnam, it took too long. Soviet propaganda in its day was intimidating but sometimes comical, we were no different. The British Army Lynx would be portrayed as having the ability to rearm its tow missiles by the two flight crew, with boxed missiles in the cargo area. In reality, it was nothing more than cheap propaganda, the helicopter had the capacity to, but feasibility was zero. I think DCS should instigate realistic arming turnaround times, as currently it is far to quick. And by requesting the cannon to be rearmed, increase that time drastically. Times could vary from base to say a FARP, available manpower and equipment.

Has LTE been modelled or reported in the Mi8? The reason I ask is today in the SAR Server, I was returning with 11 pax, 3/4 fuel load. It was winter, -35 and I’m climbing through 3000m, at 120 knob, trying to keep the ground in view as a climbed up a mountain. At some point I lost sight of the ground and a tree loomed ahead, with more mountain behind it. I pulled in the remaining power and initiated a cyclic climb into IMC. Before I knew it, I had zeroed out on speed and I was still climbing at 3m per second. The heading indicator was rotating left, so I applied more right pedal, to the point, I’d reach the stops and I was still rotating to the left. All the de-icing was on, even reducing power to zero out the climb and enter a hover in IMC, I was still slowly rotating left.

Preordered, looking forward to this module.

If your DCS Open beta is up to date with latest patch, then it should be fixed.

Over the past week, the only multiplayer servers available are 3x 450 servers and on public server. All of which are the Caucasus map. The Syria map servers have completely disappeared. Is there something wrong with my settings or is there little interest in Australia? thanks

OH-58D Kiowa Warrior November News
Rabies replied to Polychop Simulations's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
I’d be surprised if the new modules will be released prior to the new DCS world upcoming update. But, I have no understand about software development, so I’m probably wrong. Either way, I’m going to be right though -
I will try to summarise the video, even though I don’t speak Russian. “ Me and my wingmen fly the Mi-24, sometimes my wingman is on the left or on the right, but either way, if you are not flying a white flag, we are going to f*** you up” ..........

Flew this mission today and completed it on the first go. Everything ran smoothly. Thanks for fixing it

Thank you. Yes mate, please give me a shout if you see me, same name 'Rabies'.

Thanks for the reply Flask, I’ll give those key suggestions a try. I love sneaking around in the KA-50 in the Syria map. Such an awesome map for helo’s. I fly so low that I have grass stains on the underside of the aircraft lol
