  3. I agree. In my tests (in the NTTR desert environment on a cloudless sunny day) the AGM 65 H Never got a lock when slaving it to the SPI I created on the TGP. But I did find if I gave the slew a little bump sometimes it would. But thats just a work around. I could , however get H to force correlate reliably. So something seems broken with AGM-65 H Mavs.
  4. Today I decided to run a repair on 2.5 and clean out the metashades and metafx folders. Ran the same tests as yesterday......in the NTTR desert environment. At 7 / 5 / 3 NM the AGM 65 D had no problem locking (with or without ground stabilization). At 7 / 5 / 3 NM the AGM 65 H would never get a lock. But SOMETIMES if I just gave the slew a little bump it sometimes locked. And I could ALWAYS get it to force correlate. Could be the repair and folder cleaning made a difference. Or maybe its Gremlins. :)
  5. They only Hard Instant Action in 2.5 that I see on my computer is Hard - Russian Lakes - Spring So I cant help you out on that one.

  7. I sure will. But based on my experience with the Easy Fast Action missions, I wouldnt be surprised if I had the same problems with the Mavs that you did.
  8. Nope. SPIs are dead on. Try flying the Nevada Weapons mission I mentioned above. Thanks for the tracking info!
  9. OK. I went to the DCS 2.5 Nevada Weapons Training mission by The Whale Mountain to trouble shoot this issue. I started with a target at about 7 miles. First I used the AGM-65 D then immediately after worked with the H version. Went thru the procedure I use for Mavs stated above. Even added ground stabilization which I havent used a lot in the past. I static paused the sim so I could get a consistant test situation with both Mavs. Couldnt get any locks at 7 NM. Then I flew to 5NM and paused. Again using the same TGP/Mav procedures. Sometimes I got a lock. most time I didnt. Finally flew to 3 miles. Same drill. Sometime I got a lock. Sometimes I didnt. Sometimes the cross hairs just up and disappeared only to come back if I slewed the Mav head. Definitely something wrong here. Feel free to replicate this test. If you get better results then I did I would love to hear what steps you took to achieve it,
  10. Good thought, but yes I am. As I said, never had this issue in 1.5, only in 2.5. Any suggestions as to something Im not doing that I should be?
  11. Since I have not done what you have requested before, please clarify what I need to do to provide you a track. The problem I had today in a few DCS 2.5 Easy Fast Missions is... 1. Use TGP to set target as SPI 2. Select either AGM-65-D or AGM-65-H on the HUD display (or DSMS). 3. Select Mav screen on MFCD and China Hat Forward long to slave to SPI set on TGP. 4. Usually the "cross hairs" (tracking gate) will be fixed on the SPI. Open at the center and not locked yet. 5. When in range (usually 8 miles) I TMS FWD SHORT to track (lock). 6. In 2.5 I get the Track (lock) 50% less then I did in 1.5. . Sometimes not at all. And sometimes the tracking gate disappears altogether. Never had that happen in 1.5. 7. Out of desperation I switch to AGM-65-H so I can at least Force Correlate and hope that factors are in my favor. This approach has worked well until 2.5. Now they are less reliable and more frustrating.   12. After flying the A10C for almost the last year (in both 1.5 and 2.2 and 2.5) my experience with the current Mavericks is depressing. They used to lock at around 7-8 miles. Now Im lucky if I get lock at all. Today I was practicing weapons use in Fast Missions and I had to stop flying and step away from DCS, which is pretty shocking since I usually fly about 6 hours a day (retired). Please fix this issue when fixing stuff in 2.5. They are a crucial part of the A10Cs arsenal. And without them performing as they did before, I wont be flying DCS much in the future (at least until they are fixed).

  15. Question....when selecting a landing destination (when flying the A10C in the 2.5 Caucuses) I sometimes run into a screen that gives me a very odd frequency (******** / 4.600) for the tower. Its one Ive never come across before. I tried entering it into VHF-AM/FM and UHF. None will accept it.   17. tried opening vaicom window with left control alt c and this comes up in VA 10:18:41 AM - UNABLE TO INVOKE PLUGIN. PLUGIN NOT VALID FOR THIS VERSION OF VOICEATTACK. Im running v.1.6.2 Well apparently I have to update VA to a newer version. And some folks are having issues doing that in Win 10 and have to uninstall it in Windows. which means I would lose my current DCS profile I spent a lot of time on. Sorry man but is turning out to be to much of a PITA. Its not worth the trouble to get the limited return I would experience. For the second time I am removing it from my system. Im glad it didnt cost me a lot of money ;)
  18. Thank you! I was not aware of that. Options could be a good way for me to teach myself the commands over time by "sneaking a peek" at the menu. Does Vaicom install itself thru Windows? It seems from what your video tutorial says, that I just move the unzipped folder of the program into a VA folder. I want to know this just in case in the future if I want to remove it from my system. Is there a quick easy way to turn it off ? Lastly, would you advise I train it to learn my voice commands with just a regular headset and mike. As I said earlier, trying to do it with the Rift is both awkward and frustrating .
  19. Hollywood, thanks for the suggestions. After watching your tutorial video Ive come to the realization of something crucial. I find the menus very helpful since they help guide me on my choice of appropriate commands to use. Without the menus, in some situations I would have no idea what to say. I do use VA for only basic functions so as to be somewhat realistic. And the menus allow me to see what my verbal options are. At 64 memory is not a strong suit with me. I really like the concept of what your software does, but in my case I think it would only serve to confuse or frustrate me when I might not know the next command I need to say.And if I somehow were able to leave the menus on (which I see I have the option in preferences) , what would be the point of using Vaicom? Currently I have Function 1 thru Function 10 programmed into VA so while flying in VR I can access a variety of menus and interact with them by saying, for example "Function 2". It gives me the ability to use the menus to communicate while just saying Function 1 thru 10 to trigger which ever command is appropriate to the task I want to achieve.
  20. I am a VA user and found its speech recognition works very well. I have worked in radio and tv and have very good speech articulation. I was intrigued by Vaicom 2.5 so I bought it and installed it. I found that trying to teach it some of the very simple basic provided commands (I fly DCS A10C) a study in frustration. After trying to teach it several of the hundreds of commands, without it accurately understanding me thru the Rift microphone. I gave up and went back to exclusive VA use. What a waste of money. Even trying to use Win 10 to uninstall it was a cluster ****.
  21. 2.5 A10C Fast Mission Caucuses Medium - Georgia Foothills - Summer WP 3 - Took out all vehicles and troops but no voice over confirmation or new orders for WP 4 WP 5 - Tanks - None there (among houses and trees) When I select Kuitaisi as a destination on the CDU, it lists ***********/4.5 as the radio freq. I have never seen a radio setting like this and neither the VHF-AM or FM or UHF will allow me to dial it in. (Apologies if this is just something I am ignorant of.) I love these fast missions as great mini training tools. In 2.5 the flying and scenery is SPECTACULAR!
  22. The Smerch never fired, but sounds like it wasnt supposed to. As to the 65D, I used it in other A10C SP missions so it is just bugged in this one. Will do my own loadout now I know that can be done. Sorry if Im distracting you from more important things, but I appreciate you giving the A10C in game missions some love. Im just one of millions of DCS customers that prefer SP A10C missions over MP experiences. These are all we have to enjoy DCS gameplay at the moment. Would you prefer I not report any other broken missions since I will be flying then all eventually? Cheers!
  23. Ian, I just flew revised Smerch Hunt. There is a problem with the second Smerch target that JTAC assigns at MN 355568. The requested Mav 65D will NOT lock and since its D I cant force correlate it. After trying this many times I decided to just gun it, I flew right up to it and it never fired. I think this part of the mission is still broken. Would it be possible to substitute a 65H instead? Maybe this vehicle isnt generating any heat for the D to heat seek. UPDATE - Other missions are fine. Its another bug with this 2.5 updated mission.
