  1. These days, if it aint in VR....I wont play it. Theres no substitute for being "IN the game".
  2. I use Voice Attack to center the screen as well as triggering function key dialog with Tower/JTAC. I also use the keyboard ONLY at the start of sessions to slide the A10C seat back so my nose isnt pressed up against the HUD. All other functions are mapped to my CH Fighter Stick / Pro Throttle and Pedals. And it is a joy flying in VR.
  3. I own the CH Fighter stick/Throttle and Pedals. I have never had issues with the Control Manager and I am running Win 10. The ONLY thing I use the CM for is calibration. Otherwise the HOTAS works so great in DCS. I have no need to use any other functions of the Control Manager.
  4. LOL! As someone who lives in Las Vegas I dislike flying in the Beta release of NTTR. But then again I hate the boring terrain of the desert where I live. As a relatively new (7 month) single player of DCS, I really like the scenic VR variety and performance of 1.5. Mountains, rivers and oceans are so much more interesting to me then endless boring sand and rocks. YMMV! ;)
  5. 1. JTAC sends info creating a Red Triangle on the TAD which is the Target. 2. Slew TAD cursor over the Target and TMS UP SHORT to Hook. 3. Then TMS UP LONG to make SPI. 4. CHINA HAT UP LONG to slew all (TGP/MAV/HUD cursor) to SPI. At this point there are 2 options 5A. Select weapon and deploy with appropriate procedure. But for when more accuracy is needed (if your troops are nearby) 5B. Select TGP and zoom in to more accurately ID target and make it SPI. Then select weapon and deploy with appropriate procedure.
  6. Untrue....I have. :P :) My CH setup flies the A10C with precision and reliability. (I help a little). YMMV. (I liked them so much I bought 2 sets. One for the computer running DCS and the other for the system running Elite Dangerous.)
  7. Sorry but that is not correct. In the many years using the CH Fighter stick /Pro Throttle /Pro Pedals I have never experienced any faults. Performance and reliability have been my experience. Never had to deal with stiction or bad buttons. Never had to completely disassemble it to repair it. :)
  8. One thing you might consider is getting it from Amazon. Then if you have the bad luck of getting one right out of the box with stiction, you can return it and ask for an exchange. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CBVHJ00/ref=s9u_simh_gw_i1?ie=UTF8&fpl=fresh&pd_rd_i=B00CBVHJ00&pd_rd_r=78788409-be7e-11e7-a78d-95e65c90c0fe&pd_rd_w=tAWs1&pd_rd_wg=6MY1K&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=&pf_rd_r=WPB64Q66CK0M26MVKEVD&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=1cf9d009-399c-49e1-901a-7b8786e59436&pf_rd_i=desktop https://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-Hotas-Warthog-Throttles-Control/dp/B00T5X3Z2S/ref=pd_sim_147_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=NRX2Z3MNVE115C2BXGBR
  9. Heres a comprehensive video from someone who really likes the Warthog and has developed a technique for fixing it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_1579589969&feature=iv&src_vid=w6LX4GMJIj4&v=OQOOoPdmRl8
  10. I prefer Vive for the fun I can have with room scale games like Doom BFG. I prefer Rift for flying in DCS. It has a slightly smaller SDE (screen door effect).
  11. I own them both and have no regrets. Every time I use them it is awesome. From flight sims to artistic experiences to Doom BFG. Dont listen to folks that either dont own them or dont know how to appreciate them. It continues to be a "WOW" experience for me.
  12. Until you get a TM product with stiction. Then all accuracy goes out the window. And you find yourself spending time fixing their shoddy design and build issues instead of having fun in DCS. Fly safe!
  13. Bottom Line: For anyone considering buying a HOTAS, do your research to avoid disappointment, anger and frustration. Caveat emptor. Fly safe. :)
  14. OR you can intelligently research the issues with products and make an informed choice based on what info is available. And based on my research there were exponentially more problematic posts relating to the WH then there were the CH Fighterstick. Play with words as much as you like. The truth of the matter was very clear to me ;)
  15. True. And when you have LOTS of customer complaints (as opposed to a few), its a good indication of a problem with the product. And believe me, there are LOTS regarding WH that turned up in my research. Thats why I didnt buy TMWH and did buy CH. ;)
  16. From the research I did before almost buying one...Thrustmaster no longer exists as a company. A French company named Guillemot Corporation Group is the new owner. Reports vary from OK to terrible. I just wonder why they havent taken action to correct the systemic problems (stiction, cheap buttons) that have been reported for years. I love the look of the WH, but know better then to judge a book....Hoping VKB and VIRPL step in to fill the void.
  17. I have had my CH Fighterstick / Pro Throttle / Pedals for 10 years. Never any problems. No stiction. No broken buttons. And to this day it allows me to control the A10C with precision and reliability. Fitness 88, you will hear from folks that have emotional attachments to their purchases and will doggedly rationalize their investment. Be wise and do your research before buying something you may regret in the future. Again, best of luck. Fly safe!
  18. Do more research before you buy the Thrustmaster Warthog. I also really wanted to buy this product. So I Googled "Warthog Joystick problems". There were lots of posts from unhappy owners complaining of stiction (which you noticed) and broken buttons. The outside looks great but the internals are inferior. Like they say....caveat emptor (let the buyer beware). Good luck!
  19. It is ON. :)
  20. Just adjusted the seat back (with Snapview ON) then hit RAlt /0 (on numpad). Then started up a new mission and it was NOT saved. Would appreciate if you could post the exact steps you did when you get access to your computer. Thanks!
  21. I really enjoyed the dialog, though the game crashed near the end. No big deal. Its a beta. Even though I prefer (and have memorized) Chucks Guides way of doing a cold startup, it was interesting to experience a different approach. And it was nice to know 90% of the steps that were done. Keep up the good work!
  22. What are the exact sequence of steps you do to achieve this?
  23. Any estimated date of release?
