NEXT LEVEL MOTION PLATFORM V3
lasvideo replied to lasvideo's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Will do. BTW, I will be using the Jetseat in conjunction with the NLR motion cockpit. It adds great nuances to the flight experience. Andre did a great job with the Jetseat software and hardware. -

Great testimonial! Confirms my instincts to buy it. Still waiting on the V3 to appear on our shores and make its way to my cockpit here in Vegas :) -
NEXT LEVEL MOTION PLATFORM V3
lasvideo replied to lasvideo's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
As I said earlier, I did consider the Russian DOF Reality product but rejected it due to.... 1. It took up to much space 2. There were lots of cases of US customers receiving damaged goods. 3. Its hard to return it if there are problems 4. Its extremely noisy 5. I had concerns about the durability of the wiper motors. 6. When you add shipping and US customs it cost almost as much as the NLR unit. The NLF is built by a Polish company who builds a large variety of motion platforms for business and industry worldwide. And it nicely integrates into the Next Level cockpits. DOF Reality is a glorified DIY product. So it really was not a product I felt was worth buying. YMMV. -
BFT (Basic Flight Training Qual) Mission How to go on?
lasvideo replied to rickberry49's topic in Problems and Bugs
The instructor is both surly and discouraging. I was really psyched to go thru the Basic training. His attitude and demeanor really ruined the learning process for me. There are good teachers and bad ones. This one stinks. I will never purchase anymore of this type of training. I have found others that are more positive and supportive in their communication styles. And have learned a lot from them. You guys missed the boat on this one. -
Never or I dont buy it.

Access in game dialog to learn brevity code
lasvideo replied to lasvideo's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
As it turns out what I need is the spontaneous brevity codes Im getting when Im getting attacked and such. So these are not scripted triggers but spontaneous warnings. Unfortunately they appear and disappear rather quickly and Pause doesnt keep them on screen :( -
After spending the last few months learning the ins and outs of the A10C various systems, I felt it was time to put it all together and try some missions. I downloaded some off the Internet and tried to fly them. As things got heated up, I quickly discovered that I had no idea what was being communicated to me by the in game voices. So my question is... is there any way I can access the various voice scripts in those missions so I can copy them and analyze what is being said? This is a quicker approach then going thru the whole game (in VR) and trying to write them down as I hear them.

Taking VR to the Next Level!
lasvideo replied to lasvideo's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I did look into Igors product but... 1. It was to big for my space. 2. To many reports of folks getting damage goods incurred by worldwide shipping. 3. Software requires to much tuning for my taste. 4. I can buy this on Amazon and very easily exchange it or get a refund if there are any issues. So its worth it to me to pay more for the NLR Motion System . YMMV ;) -
Taking VR to the Next Level!
lasvideo replied to lasvideo's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Actually it most likely goes from China to US, like everything else these days. Just designed in Poland and promoted by Australian company. ;) -
Ive been flying DCS in VR for the past year. At first I got 4 weeks of flight training (based on FAA Manual) in the L-39 by a fine teacher. Then I flew the F-5 Tiger for a while to get a feel for really flying (no fly by wire). After a while I craved working with more advanced avionic and computer systems so recently I started training in the A10C. Flying in VR is still a "HOLY S***" experience, But I was ready for more. So I added the Jetseat which added a lot. THEN... After extensive research Ive decided to really up the realism by getting a Motion System from Next Level Racing. It will consist of ...NEXT LEVEL RACING MOTION PLATFORM V3 which responds to DCS telemetry. http://www.nextlevelracing.com/products/next-level-racing-motion-platform-v3/ The NEXT LEVEL RACING SEAT which is light and easily installed. http://www.nextlevelracing.com/next-level-racing-seat-add-on/ And the NEXT LEVEL RACING FLIGHT PACK which will allow me to mount my CH HOTAS on the seat. So they will move along with me. http://www.nextlevelracing.com/next-level-racing-flight-pack/ The system supports DCS and tons of other flight and racing sims. Its based around the Motion Platform which is made for Next Level Racing by a Polish company that makes motion systems for business and industry. So far Ive read nothing but rave reviews of the V3 model by sim pilots and sim race car drivers. It is just a seat mover, but when I tried it out with the Rift and the DCS A10C, my brain was convinced I was flying in the real thing. Just waiting on the next shipmet tbefore the fun can start. SWEET! :pilotfly:

Next Level Racing Motion system and DCS?
lasvideo replied to lasvideo's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks for the detailed response! 6DOF at present prices is not even a possibility for me. Academically your thoughts may make sense. But believe me, I tried this system out in VR and the small movement cues easily fooled my brain into enjoying another layer of immersion. Is it like real flying? Of course not. Is flying a A10C desk like flying the real thing? Of course not. But is the VR flight experience enhanced...you bet your bippy :) (In my year of having crazy fun in VR I have never experienced the pukeys. So that isnt an issue for me). After lengthy research I found that other systems I can afford dont match up to the points Ive listed above (IMO) -

Next Level Racing Motion system and DCS?
lasvideo posted a topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Since this is a once in a lifetime purchase for me, I am closely looking at all alternatives. Has anyone use the Next Level Racing Motion system and DCS? http://www.nextlevelracing.com/products/next-level-racing-motion-platform-v3/ I am considering this as a possible alternative to the DOF Reality.Heres why... 1. Software and hardware are well designed and manufactured 2. Entire motion unit is hidden under chair 3. Great seat comes with... 4. Good in small space 5. DCS friendly with no need to figure out setting up Simtools 6. Seat mover, but HOTAS can connect to seat assembly 7. Available from Amazon so any returns or fixes are easy. Less chance of product damage since its not going from Ukraine to Vegas. Cost is ridiculous...but Im retired and can almost afford it (Not a DIY guy) ;) -
Thanks!

How much does your seat weigh so I can use that as a guide as I shop around.

I actually have a Play seat on my "static" flight chair. https://plus.google.com/photos/photo/102385542845985326590/6486899001952471042?icm=false&iso=true https://plus.google.com/photos/photo/102385542845985326590/6487687810645773458?icm=false&iso=true But its pretty crappy and uncomfortable as well. Hopefully between now and when I order in January (to avoid the imminent Xmas shipping rush when thing are lost and broken) I will luck out and find something like your RX7 chair.

Been searching for that seat here in the US. NADA. May have to settle for the one they recommended. http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/70200K1/10002/-1

Thanks man. Ive been looking here in the US for a comparable chair since the one DOF Reality suggests is just molded plastic. Bound to be hard on the butt after hours of ground pounding in the Hawg. Im holding off placing my order until I can find a relatively light and comfy one. Unfortunately 2 of my Jetseat motors died so I have to return that unit to Andre for repair or exchange.

I am about to place my order for DOF Reality P2 system. How do you like you seat? Is it comfortable on long flights? Did you use the rail sliders to provide DOF Reality with info on where to drill holes in the system? Do you use or need those racing seat belts ? Any other relevant info is appreciated. I want to get things right before I drop all that cash.
