  1. Im seeing the same "wet reflective frozen" spots all over NTTR. Looks more like a swamp then a desert. And living here in Vegas I KNOW thats not right ;)
  2. This! (A10C).
  3. In 2.5 I checked in Task Manager and I have 4 cores (8 logical processors). When DCS was activated ALL the processors jumped into action. Good to know Im not just working on one processor like some other folks have reported.
  4. I had 2.2 OA on my system until I DL 2.5 OB which also deleted 2.2. Now when I run the DCS 2 icon I get an error message since it cant see 2.2 anymore. Ive contacted NLM with a request to update the support for 2.5 which hasn't been implemented yet. Trees look fine after making further adjustments. (Shadows wasnt one of them.)
  5. 2.5 Performance - UPDATE UPDATE- After extensive trial and error testing in VR, I found a settings configuration that gives me a solid 45fps in 2.5 maps. With minimal if any judder. :) https://plus.google.com/photos/photo/102385542845985326590/6517215901217555250?authkey=CO3rw8fEmrDlPQ Win 10 I7 6700K @ 4.0 GHZ. 16 gig memory GTX 1070 SSD Rift CV1
  6. Just flew the A10C in DCS 2.5 VR. Then went right back to 1.5 VR. Why? I get no judders in 1.5 and lots of judders in 2.5. . Speed Trees look bad. Like inflated trees. The ones in 1.5 look textured and better. Oh yeah, and my Next Level Racing Motion Platform doesn't support 2.5 yet. Just 1.5. So Im sticking with 1.5 for a while longer ........
  7. Yes, I got the message option to uninstall Open Alpha as well. It be gone.
  8. I only use Control Manager for calibrating. Otherwise I just plug my Fighterstick, Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals into a USB hub and jump into DCS. No issues whatsoever.
  9. Heres a different 2DOF system from Next Level Racing. :) https://plus.google.com/photos/102385542845985326590/album/6503482035828004593/6503482041952152162?authkey=CMe3tMnk3IOjNg
  10. That "clunk" is something Ive never experienced with my Fighterstick. I also use just the calibration function of CH manager with Win 10 with no issues.
  11. I highly recommend CH products having owned the Fighterstick, Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals. They are well designed and constructed products (CH builds joysticks for business and industry so they know what they are doing).. And customer service is first rate as well. I fly the DCS A10C with the CH HOTAS and get great performance and reliability from them. Never need to use the CH Manager (except to calibrate infrequently) since I just plug all three into a USB hub and away I fly. I am very happy with their performance. If you cant fly well with these, it aint the equipments fault. Whatever you buy , do a lot of research before you do. I would avoid the Thrustmaster Wart Hog stuff at all costs. The gimbal is badly designed and for many develops stiction which you will spend a lot of time trying to fix. The throttle has bricked on lots of folks as well. It looks great on the outside but is crap on the inside. A word to the wise. ;)
  12. I did consider the Russian DOF Reality product but rejected it due to.... 1. It took up to much space 2. There were lots of cases of US customers receiving damaged goods. 3. Its hard to return it if there are problems 4. Its extremely noisy with provided fans. 5. I had concerns about the durability of the wiper motors. 6. When you add shipping and US customs it cost almost as much as the NLR unit. 7. Getting the software to do what you want reportedly took a lot of tweaking. 8. I had to buy my own chair that needed altering so it could be mounted on the motion platform. The NLF is built by a Polish company who builds a large variety of motion platforms for business and industry worldwide. And it nicely integrates into the Next Level cockpits. DOF Reality is a glorified DIY product. So it was not a product I felt was worth buying. YMMV.
  13. Try recalibrating the Rifts sensors.
  14. I was flying the Maple Flag A-10C Basic Flight Training Campaign and found some triggers were off or never happened.
  15. Thanks for the update folks!
  16. I bought all the DLC campaigns for the A10C and discovered that triggers and speech are bugged in all of them. I know that most were made many years ago and subsequent updates on DCS have broken them. Anybody know if Eagle Dynamics and third party vendors (Maple Flag / Baltic Dragon) intend to fix them so they function correctly in 2.5?
  17. I use the same 3 CH products as you with the A10C and have no problem. And I also dont use the CH software. :) https://plus.google.com/photos/photo/102385542845985326590/6507339302968430386?authkey=CPmjyJeJjpGq7QE
  18. I have the same problem and have never found a solution. I hope you do! :)
  19. Good thoughts but.....Been there , done that and lots of other training situations. They dont teach the scope and depth of the things that the A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC tests for.
  20. Well maybe with a little more forethought you folks would first have come up with a training series that would teach the skills that this series tests for. ;)
  21. I have some questions for other owners of NLR Motion Platform. In the Motion Manager software I have everything in default for DCS 1.5. When I gently pitch or roll the A10C, I feel the movement as a series of little "bumps" instead of smooth movement. Is this to be expected? Are there controls in the Manager to smooth out the linearity of the motion?
  22. I use the CH Fighterstick/Pro Throttle/Pedal with DCS and love how they perform. I highly recommend them for reliability and longevity of use.
  23. Pay no attention to above naysayers! The VR flight experience is so real, I took online flight lessons from an air force pilot based on training taught in the FAA manual. The lessons spanned 4 weeks and were in the L-39 Albatross jet trainer in DCS World, which has a high fidelity cockpit. The experience was so intense I was sweating profusely during my first several lessons. When I fly (now the A10C Warthog) I treat it as if it is the real thing, because it creates that kind of experience. I soon will be adding the Next Level Racing Motion Platform to my Rift / NLR cockpit and can only imagine how that will add to the immersion. Its great now and will only get better!
