Yep, as stated in my post a day or so ago in the Release date thread. It isn't happening until 3.20 - if then. Just another blunder around the "Cat".
-
Hype Train derailed for me a while back. I am at the point of egh about it. It is Sunday so we should get another innocuous and lackluster update from HB either posting another pic if artwork, or blah blah we are working hard with no real substance as usual. Most companies would be able to (and be required to - as with mine) speak to projects in terms of much more definitive timelines according the Business and IT development requirements (e.g. it is internal QA / UAT process - scheduled for xx days or weeks, and if passes next phase is scheduled for xx days or week(s), and at present launch date of xx is or isn't at risk.
-
LOL - yeah for a minute I was thinking we had a super modded A6 junior - lol
-
Thanks for the clarification - didn't realize that...but I still will believe it when I see it.
-
Yep - agreed except for maybe the months part - lol. Maybe month. And what have we gotten -4 maybe 5 videos in total - in ~ 6 weeks (didn't go back and actually count so relax with it was 6! responses) - a couple of which were very short - showing to your point the same thing over and over. As far startup procs and detailed reviews of the cockpit - it is only half done - RIO pit still not available. No manual or documentation from HB for the CCs to use - unless they want to read NATOPS and write the proc themselves - it just isn't there yet. But I agree - getting bored with same thing over and over. Give the CCs credit - I am sure they are delivering the best as can be expected with the current state of the module, docs, etc. It just isn't there yet as far as the module goes. Actually becoming quite anti-climatic for me. It's like they spent their hype capital too soon and too much of a gap between the hype and the results. While I admittedly will enjoy the module when it finally does come out, I am at the point of - egh - at this point.

Not to discredit Wags, but until I see it...…...it ain't happening. Wags could know, HB could have communicated it to him as a desire (later this month) or it could really be scheduled - who knows. Just like it was HB's desire for 2018. Doubtful it would already be scheduled and no formal announcement from HB. Wags could have gotten the month's crossed up (thinking it was March already - doubtful or he could have been answering a different question in the comments) What we do know is that it is now Feb, and as of Magz latest bombing content of today (while I enjoy any and all "Cat" content) which was nothing new and still no RIO pit along with who knows what else. We have heard very little in any form of real detail from HB lately. (Couple of statements about deciding on a release date - albeit internally, "we are working hard" statement and a picture of RIO pit artwork during the entire month of Jan. All very innocuous - by design. Nothing for me to be wowed about or hoping for a release beating the 3/20 deadline. - HB seems to be laying low - heads down - maybe even playing a bit of "Cat" and mouse if you ask me). Therefore, I am not banking on anything before 3/20 (and even that could get pushed - it is after all entirely possible - despite the guarantee - we have seen things like this in the past. So again, until it happens..... it ain't happening. I will believe it when it shows up in my available module downloads and not until.
-
With this being such a big deal module and given the work still needed to be done, coming into Feb and still haven't even seen the RIO put (other than a snapshot of artwork). So my guess is that is will break ED OB protocol HB will take / need all of the time, and release will be 3/20 (which is also a Wednesday)

** F-14 Development Update: December 2018 **

Credit Card disputes aren't as clean cut as you make them out. Outside of actual fraud, lost stolen cards, etc. Credit card disputes usually fall into (2) categories. 1 - Billing errors: - cardholder didn't authorize the charge - goods or services were not delivered or supplied - goods were not delivered in a timely manner - goods delivered were in the wrong quantity. In all cases above, the cardholder has (60) days to dispute the charge after billed on the statement. (Most likely more that 60 days would have elapsed between the EA purchase and your dispute - definitely has in my case as I purchased as soon as announced.) 2- Claims and defenses category - Quality of the goods or services were not as advertised or faulty as a result. The claims and defense category has several restrictions on most card agreements. -The claim doesn't apply to any portion of the charge (including the entire charge) if paid prior to filing the dispute. (If you are paying your credit card bill on time, you would have long since paid the charge for a module before filing a dispute in most cases. -Claims can only be made for purchases of $50 or more, where the purchase was made in the CH's state or within a 100 miles of their home. -The cardholder must also first make a "good faith" attempt to resolve the dispute with the retailer. Some banks will make exceptions to the billing error grace period or the geographical restrictions of the claims and defense category, but these are purely discretionary and should not be relied upon as a given. Bottom line being by the time most if any people would file a dispute with their credit card companies over a pre-order EA purchase for dissatisfaction with the release timing or purchase, the time limits would have expired or you would have already paid the bill. Making a dispute refund far less likely. Best case would be dealing with the retailer directly (which in the couple of instances (or 1) I have seen here, HB promptly accommodated with a refund. Not trying to add fuel to the fire, just qualifying the "file a dispute" thread -

Great videos guys. While I enjoy seeing her in action, noticed nothing showcased in the form of progress on development. ~ 7 weeks out and still no RIO pit? Hmmm. -
Awesome that the cockpit textures are being updated. Will fall in love with the Harrier all over again. Has any thought been given to updating the sounds similar to this link?
-
Now those cockpit textures are a million % better than today. WOW! Awesome. Is there any idea of when the upgrade will occur?

I hope you are not seriously annoyed and appalled. Again with the literation (Banal - Boring , Appalled - Annoyed) Assume you speak this way as well. Now that would become annoying. And nothing new age about me nor sensitive. All in good fun. Seriously, lighten up dude. Non of this is serious. On the other hand, if you truly are as you say - appalled - annoyed or offended. My apologies. Won't poke at you anymore.
-
Picking up on the trend here with Victory's insult attempts. Appears "Mr. NATOPS" also keeps WEBSTERS by his bed and is in the B section right now. "Banal, generic , boring" Given that boring is the definition of banal. So, NATOPS and WEBSTERS on the side table for ready reference. Who is banal? LOL. Since you are still in the Bs - try Bombastic on for size. Suits your personality well. Keep up the hard work though, and let me know when you get to the Ps - I have a couple more for you. :)

The thread is entitled Release Date Discussions for a reason. Between the fanboys who are worried about upsetting HB to the point they will no longer communicate with their customer base and the certain individuals who are just simply rude to everyone in multiple threads because they do not agree with a specific point of view - geez get over yourselves. Everyone is allowed an opinion and the permission to express the same whether it is complaining or praising. Otherwise - delete the threads, delete the forums and ban everyone one. That will solve it! Give me a break. It is all part of the hype of which HB is counting on (justifiably so) as would any company selling a product. There would be much to be concerned over if there were no discussion, hype, etc. DCS is entertainment of which all of this a part.
-
All are entitled to their individual opinions good or bad. Being self righteous in either direction and condemning the different points of views isn't being an adult. It is being narrow minded.

While I can appreciate the effort required to create content, the lack of the same around the F14 is not effort driven. Look back at the amount of content received when the F/A 18 was given to the CCs. We were flooded with content. The lack of content is being restricted by HB because they are still almost a full 3 months away from being ready (and probably crunching to even meet the 3.20.19 deadline) The module isn't ready enough to have anymore content released. Which goes back to their "hope for 2018" statement which has been reviled to have been a farce. No way they were close to a 2018 release and they knew much sooner than they let on given the amount of work and time they still requiring.
-
While Cobra's comments are appreciated and understood, my take, said differently, they still have a lot of work to do, and are not close. Still doesn't clearly answer Kengou's question. If HB maintained the hope of a 2018 release until late December 2018 (by not communicating otherwise until the week prior to Christmas), what gives with the additional 3 months? Back to my earlier point (prior post) and only complaint in the process. Poor communication. They would have had to of known how far off they were much earlier to late December as reinforced by their now requiring the additional 3 months to finish the module and workout bugs serious enough to prevent release, scarcity of content by folks who have the module, and virtually no updates since the late December bombshell. I know there are plenty that gush all over HB and will say they stated Winter 2019 as definite, but they also said "hoping" for 2018 at the same time, and in my opinion strung us along far too long before coming clean in late December. Would have been much more tolerable if they were ready to release say end of Jan 2019. One could then say, well they were close, but this is simply not the case. 3 months past not being close and are most likely facing a crunch to even meet the Mar 20, 2019 deadline. Given Cobra's statement about commitment to quality- I expect this module to be virtually bug free upon release then. Otherwise, the additional 3 months was a crunch to finish a lot of work remaining to be completed that they should have been upfront about much earlier than late December. Ok, I am done ranting and have given all the HB "fanboys" enough ammunition to feed off of supporting their beloved HB. It is what it is, and I have always been fine with the wait. Just not pleased with the communication.
-
+2. HB is obviously not even close to release given the lack of content and recent updates. Anyone who thinks that it is close delusional. Think back to the F/A18 and how much content was being dropped a month or so before release.
-
Wow. Seems some people are quite full of themselves. There are much better ways to respond / address questions or politely say no without being so terse.
-
There doesn't appear to be an on / off switch for counter measures in the Harrier. The counter measures continue to release even with the Exp switch to off. I realize Auto, etc determine which dispenser to use, but I would think off is off for countermeasures. Unless I am uninformed on the use of this switch.
-
All of this noise. The people who are unhappy with HB for not having the F14 ready, and the others who gush all over HB and run to trample the people expressing dissatisfaction. Both are as equally funny and somewhat annoying.

The length of time registered and number of posts made in the forums shouldn't be used to measure someone's right to express their opinion. I have been flying the Lock On then DCS series for years but on recently decided to register with the community (~May of 2017). However, everyone should just relax and know if will happen when it happens and not a day sooner. -

I usually just read these threads for the entertainment value, but in this instance I feel the need to weigh in bit. While I agree HB "guarantees" winter of 2019, IMO they do shoulder some responsibility in milking the Hope and Hype train by making statements around "Hoping for 2018" meaning December. My complaint involves the miss around communication. The disclosure announcement that we received circa mid December stating that a 2018 release was unlikely was the miss and untimely. Judging by the mid December update, amount of work left to be done, and the brevity and restriction around the couple of CC videos we have seen recently (e.q. no commentary in the video from Ralfi, the brevity of Mags videos, no backseat shots and so on) HB doesn't seem to be close to a release. - most likely will be very close the March 20th date if then which brings us back to full circle on the December 2018 tease by HB. They would have had to of known much earlier (and most likely did by there own admission - "wishing update statement had come earlier statement" in the Dec update post) that a 2018 release wasn't likely. Chose to instead let the hope and hype train continue to run off of the rails. That is my only complaint, and seems to be the source of some of the frustration seen in the forums. -
I also read Cobra's post which you are referring. Seems to me that HB's publishing of instructional videos to the public has little to do with what content creators are allowed or not allowed to post. The reason HB is being so restrictive on content (no backseat shots, plus who knows what else as well as no commentary is because these items are not completed. Which takes me back to my original statement, they are not as far as long as all seem to hope in these forums. They have committed to March 20 - which is a full quarter off from the initial statements of the false teasers of "hoping for Dec 2018" from HB - which in my opinion was a huge miss. Not a miss because they didn't release - a miss because they would have known that is was impossible for them to meet a Dec 2018 release long before the full disclosure update circa 12.16 the week prior to Christmas. Just milking the Hope and Hype train in my opinion. Not looking to be negative just realistic. As these tiny little "teaser" videos have been coming out. DCS enthusiasts, of which I am very much one - former military - love aviation and DCS, get all worked up thinking release is close. I am just stating the release will most likely be much closer to the March 20 date given than sooner as all the hope and hype that is being generated.
-
While I admit it is good to see some content, no commentary or backset shots. HB obviously being extremely restrictive in what cannot be said and shown which leads me to believe that they are not as close to release all would seem to hope. When is the last time you saw a Ralfi video without any commentary?
