Seems like a personal preference thing to me. I have no issues with the current look, and as you have stated, you have mod that now makes it work for you.

Is there any way to put throthle detent for the afterburner?
SandMan23 replied to secretcode's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
You can easily discern throttle ranges (especially) and the MIL / AB end of the range by the throttle sounds in the module. I do not have any throttle issues, and IMHO, I would like to keep the module as correct as possible. -
[BUG] Jester Speech Cutting Off - Since 3.22.19 update
SandMan23 posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
Noticed that any button input cuts Jester speech off. (e.g. Just alters "I've got nails 1:00) I switch from Cruse to AA mode his mid sentence and his speech stops as soon as I initiate the above mode change. Have noticed this occurs while manipulating any switches while Jester is talking. Did not occur prior to today's (3.22.19) update. -
Yep - Disabling Dust / Flog even with slider to 0 worked for me as well. Hopefully this will be adjusted, but at least I can use the Lantirn now. Thanks
-
Same Issue: SP, Lantirn setup, AG mode, etc. - slew to targets ~12k AGL - 10mi and under (Can see both visually and in Lantirn Screen, and I cannot get Area or Point Track to engage. Needless to say without Area or Point tract cannot lock targets or drop LGBs. Ugh - Am I missing something?

F14 Skinners thread (Paintkit in 1st post)

Awesome skin! I am really looking forward to downloading all the talented work from the community. Would love a version of this one without the nose art as well! :) -
Well after spending my first 2 days with new "Kitty", I must admit she is beyond amazing. Besides being gorgeous inside and out, took my first dusk flight in the desert tonight (internal lighting - night Hud and VDI filter on) and WOW! Just gorgeous! As far as flight characteristics go, quickly learned that you can't muscle her - and yank her around - the stick is not your ****. She is very predictable and communicates her moves well if you pay attention. I have found as with pushing any performance machine near the envelope - Smooth - coordinated inputs are key. I enjoy the raw power, acceleration, climb and turn rates (spoiled now for when I go back and fly my Bug - which stands out in her own right). The standoff capability of the radar and Phoenix are fun, but today I forced myself to iron out my settings on the new ThrustMaster TPR pedals and perform guns only fights. I am hooked - correct rudder inputs along with a light touch on the stick produce great turn rates and energy efficiency which combined with my ability to kick in the overdrive and extend a bit when necessary make me understand why this bird was built and feared. Loving every minute of it...quirks, creaks, rattles - analog and all!

All I can say thus far is WOW! WOW! and WOW! She is absolutely gorgeous in every way!!! Truly a grand slam HB!!

This is awesome. Thank you for taking the time to post such an informative thread! Looking forward to future posts!

I beg to differ. Every mission in I fly with the harrier I get a bottoming out of the frame rates when I turn on the TACAN and then select AA TACAN mode (it flashes the data as if I depressed the data button and whole thing freezes. If I wait for 1 minute until I get enough frame rate response to barely turn of the TACAN, FPS returns to normal. So for me it is not a medium priority bug as I cannot use AA TACON for refueling. The process above has nothing to do with me moving waypoints with the TDC. TDC isn't touched in the process

Ok - so I stand corrected on the BB sounds - needed to turn the ICS volume up (great improvement on BB sounds BTW!), but I still am unable to see any discernable differences in the MPCD backgrounds or cockpit lighting
-
AV8B updates per 3.1.19 changelog Weapon positions fixed MPCD Transparency background fix KC-135 MPRS wingtip vortices position fixed Bitching Betty sounds upgraded Cockpit internal lighting improved Ground Proximity Warning System enabled Do not see any difference in the MPCD backgrounds Bitching Betty sounds are completely silent (warning and caution alerts behave differently at APU start - and cannot seem to cancel them out with button clicks as before) Do not see any different in the internal cockpit lighting. Unless I am missing something

HB didn't guarantee RC to ED by 3.21.19. HB guaranteed release by 3.21.19 which should have included time frames for ED greenlight. If it is delayed, then it is HBs fault for not building enough time in for all processes to meet the 3.21.19 deadline. But...…..to StrikeEagle's point, HB knows what they are doing so hopefully no issues.
-
Lol....and the beat goes on... Yesterday...... Today...... Tomorrow...... Hopefully releases soon cause I think we are going to run out of dumpsters my 3.20
-
Yep and remember. Be very very careful
-
Really? OMG!! You have got to be kidding me. HB just like in any other business looks to provide a desired service for profit. But Oh! maybe your are right. They just might get their feelings hurt. Pickup their toys and go home while at the same time flushing all of the overhead invested in the project down the tubes, while having to refund all of the early purchase $ and forgo future income streams for the module. Yep - sounds like a sound business plan to me.

Now that you have given them your permission.....as if they required it. - That seems to be an entitled statement. Of all the posts here, whether you personally agree with them or not, some positive and some not so positive, yours is the one that resorts to name calling and personal insults using "idiocy" "loud mouths", etc. All, at least in the world I live, have the freedom to speak there minds and express there opinions. You seem to like to use the word entitled a lot. So let us take a loot at that. You TOO have the right to disagree and express your opinion as well - personal insults and all, but to be of the belief that others do not have the same right.....or are wrong for doing the same seems entitled.

Targeting December 2018 was not idiotic hype made up by the community
-
Good point. Thanks for the correction.
-
That is by design. They want to keep the community in a fervor. If they came right and said March 21 is the absolute release date, the hype would have died down until the date drew near. Instead they get much more mileage out of stringing it along while still having the safety net of falling back on "well we told you from the beginning" while teasing statements like "Targeting December" but guaranteeing Winter 2019 in the Cobra post last fall, and statements like "soon" and "right around the corner" I have said all along it will be ~March 20 (a Wednesday - OB update day) anything else is just pie in the sky fuel for the hype train

Oooooooh…..all the Oh HB num num num num num I love you HB - fanboys are gonna get you for that one...lol

The following control options are greyed out for the F18C sim since last update: Gun trigger - SECOND DETENT Throttle Designator Controller - Down Throttle Designator Controller - Left View Left Slow Checking or Unchecking the "Realistic TDC" option in the special tab has no effect on the above either way. I can live without the View Left Slow, but the Gun Trigger, and TDC left and down are critical. Mapped to my Warthog HOTAS stick and make the aircraft unusable at the moment. Anyone else seen this or have a fix?

"This week" Hmmm......now where have I heard that before?

For all who keep saying 2 weeks, 3 weeks. Check the last couple of posts on the F-14 Manual anytime soon (baby)? thread.
