  1. For anyone else that has this problem. just a heads up. This works, but you will be forced to re-do settings, including your control bindings. This one also fixes the issue, but without having to redo your settings.
  2. Watched F-15 documentary. Israeli pilot landed F-15 on one wing. Said after that had he seen the damage (masked by spraying fuel) he would have absolutely bailed. There may be a bug... but there might also be some truth to your real world pilots bailing too fast comment. Just human nature to assume a plane damaged that bad is unable to fly...
  3. dang! thats no good..hmmm....If your 1.5 works fine then the only thing I can think to do is adjust different 2.1 specific settings and see if one solves it. Some of the new lighting settings in 2.1 seem to mess with stuff.
  4. I had the same problem. If you have deferred shading enabled the AP lights will be reversed. In other words when they are active the light will be out, and when they are deactivated the light will be on. Turning off deferred shading returns it to normal. Hope this helps!
  5. I truly believe we don't have female voices yet simply because that bridge hasn't been crossed yet in the grand scheme of DCS's development. There's actually a surprising amount of female military pilots, even in fighter roles, so it's a perfectly reasonable wish-list item, but also a minor detail in the big picture. Even the male voice-overs (outside of some campaigns) in game right now aren't exactly up to par, so I wouldn't be surprised if this along with many other voice improvements will coincide with the eventual ATC revamp. You can take one look around the forums and understand there's a lot of things more pressing on these developers plate. PULL UP! PULL UP! OVER G! OVER G!....... OK Betty!:joystick:
  6. al531246- Unfortunately I didn't save the track file to this mission. The screenshot I took was "live" in mission and not from replaying the track. I double checked my track files just to be sure. Will make sure to save any similar incidents in the future.
  7. Had I known a thread like this existed I would have better documented this sortie. Good ol' A-10C held together long enough to get me back to base. Damaged gear drug me into the grass where I could finally pop out to an exterior view to see the damage. Had no idea of the full extent of damage until this point. Better lucky than good they say!

    What Map?

Straight of Hormuz is the ticket. Whether it's released before, simultaneously, or after the Hornet is a mystery at this point. I can't remember Wag's exact words, but he has mentioned SOH as a map catered towards carrier ops. I would imagine the updated Caucasus map will also be a prime candidate as well. Without knowing how close to the merge we are it's hard to say if we'll have the Hornet or the maps first. The AV-8B and F-14 will both be looking for a carrier ops home as well so I'm sure there will be a method to the madness release wise.
  9. Knowing the systems is expected in this campaign. There's nothing too crazy but you will be entering data to the CDU on the fly under pressure in most missions. Not having track IR, or some way to quickly look around may be an issue. There are times when things are happening on the ground where you simply don't have time or it is not practical to use the TGP. (You will be a lot more invested in what's on the ground in this campaign then you may have been in others.) With this being said I would absolutely get this campaign even if you have to work at it a bit to make it work. In my opinion it is the best A-10 campaign available, and you will notice the quality almost immediately. Difficulty wise I would put it a notch above others, but with a grasp on the systems you should be fine.
  10. Damage model testing has to be a peculiar phase to carry out. -"How'd your flight go?" --"Great! lost my right wing, fuselage got shredded, and I ejected as my plane plummeted to the ground in a ball of fire. Couldn't have gone any better!" Jokes aside, do you just keep going up until every system is eventually hit, or do you have a way to target certain systems each time through for testing purposes? Just curious.
  11. Nothing worse than hearing AAA rounds shredding your bird on an attack run! That's the name of the game in Air-to-Ground though. Gotta risk it to get the biscuit! haha Luckily it seems the AV-8B is a fuzz quicker than the A-10 which should help when you gotta get outta dodge!
  12. These are from 2012, but hey something to look at.
  13. You make a valid point. There are several spaces available on deck for aircraft to spawn, but it would be interesting to see how a full server of Hornets all trying to take off from the carrier would play out. May have to wait for open spots on the deck to spawn in. Or maybe your right and the hanger deck will come into play. I'm not trying to crush anybody's hopes and dreams of riding their bird up the elevator or being in the hanger here, I'm just going off the level of realism ED has provided in the past to get a better idea of what to expect from carrier ops. I hope the hanger and elevator are modeled and functioning, I just don't know if it will come into play with us pilots actually using it. I'm sure ED has had a similar discussion among themselves. Who's parked where? Who gets the catapult next? how do we make sure the decks clear for landings? etc. etc. I guess step one is just getting a look at the thing! haha
  14. I could be wrong on this so someone who knows definitely chime in, but I'm pretty sure the pilots don't ride with the plane up the elevator. I think the pilots actually meet the plane on the deck where it's been parked and armed by the crew. Any NAVY guys out there to clarify?
  15. I would have to agree. I really enjoy the missions in PF where you're providing CAS for special forces taking a compound, or capturing a target. The way it plays out makes it feel like your truly there to protect them while they complete their task, and not just killing enemies to fulfill a mission perimeter while some ground troops move around below you. I've honestly only made it a few missions into EW so I can't make any broad comments comparing the two. So far I'm enjoying it very much. Definitely a different vibe than PF but still high quality. Also pretty pumped to hear BD's future campaign plans. I'll take all the campaigns I can get!
  16. TM hasn't said anything about a full HOTAS system for the Hornet. Just a replica stick "add-on" that attaches to the Warthog base. In terms of what that means for release is hard to say. They had the stick there on display but not in use, or even to touch. I really doubt TM's release of the stick will determine ED's. Maybe look back and see how the Warthog HOTAS release was handled to get a better idea, but even then that was a full HOTAS setup and I'm pretty sure the first of it's kind so I'm not sure thats even a good indicator. As with all the speculation around the Hornet it's a crapshoot.
  17. I think the "several months" comment is referring to a general time frame to get all the systems integrated. The release, as I'm pretty sure Wags stated (paraphrasing here) will be when enough systems are integrated that they are comfortable releasing. Whether those two points are one in the same is a question only ED can answer. My bet is September...ish...... or 2 weeks... or when it's ready.. ;)
