  1. Devs kept hitting it so they took it out in what was called the "F >this< Pole Maneuver"
  2. I understand what happens if I don't touch my bindings, problem solved monday. I'm simply asking what happens if you DO. Will it stay? or be wiped after Hotfix? I've rebound one ac for the weekend, and would be willing to rebind a couple more, but would like to know if I'm causing myself more headaches down the road before doing so.
  3. If I were to rebind an aircraft to fly over the weekend, will these settings stick, or be wiped on Monday?
  4. Every once in awhile I'll do some valley cruisin' with no weapons and around 30% fuel. She'll scoot pretty good . She's a hog though..no doubt!
  5. Can't go wrong with either. You'll find that ANY module in VR is a pretty awesome experience.
  6. As far as the lighting is concerned, the lights in the BS have been a mess ever since deferred shading was introduced. A lot of lights (particularly w/ autopilot) are inverted, or in other words are on when the light is off/ off when light is on. Not how it is suppose to be.
  7. Keeping up with early access modules is very much a hands-on activity. A lot of searching and watching videos. Finished modules are a different story. (think A-10C manual) Use every resource you can find. Personally, user made videos help me out the most. For the hornet specifically, you'll get the manual your looking for on "release." Until then it's a lot of self-teaching, researching, and following this forum for the change logs and info from devs. Updates to manual are usually announced here, though being EA idk if your going to get an update to the hornet manual prior to release. Chuck's guide will probably update periodically though.
  8. It all starts with A2A in the Hornet (any fighter really)... If you can't stay in the sky and fend for yourself, then you'll never make it to A2G. This is especially true in MP where the Eagles like to hunt. I'm a ground pounder myself, and am dying for the rest of the goods in that dept. but understand the work that has been done. Plus, it's not like they're just working on A2A, LGB's will be coming soon.
  9. Haha! I'll give em some credit for trying, but good god this scene makes me cringe. DCS has broken me! Every movie I watch with fighter jets in them I pick apart. Scene in Behind Enemy Lines where they're running from the SAMs gets me every time... WTF kind of SAM acts that way!? lol! Good 'ol movie magic though. Gotta have the action.
  10. Just when I had given up on my Friday release day theory, they go and release a module on a Friday. I'll take it! Will also gladly throw Fridays in any future "release date speculation" threads lol. Will still get the typical Wednesday update/release lecture though haha. I know I know, Wednesday is the TYPICAL release day, but Fridays are back in the mix!
  11. Prayers go out to you Cap. Hang in there, stay positive!
  12. I dare say it... 2 weeks... Unless they decide to update Beta again next week.
  13. Thank you! exactly what I needed.
  14. Was looking for some help on what the line in the LUA should be for the HOT3 racks/pylons. I've found and edited the dds. just cant get the LUA right to show it. Thanks in advance
  15. I've had issues with tracks after carrier launches. Haven't had issues with land t/o or air starts but still not convinced that it is rock steady. I'll keep it at that, as this topic has been discussed for as long as I've been on this forum. Hopefully one day replays will be reliable.
  16. I can assure you, this news did not bum me out more! :)
  17. My mouth watered as I read this. You can keep your bird on the Stennis if you give me some of this!
  18. Dang... am I the only one who was wanting some new planes for the new FC (now MAC)? I mean this is fine, and will serve it's purpose well for new players. But nothing new. Like others have said though, ED has the hornet to finish and a laundry list of other things to handle with DCS. F-14's coming, F-4 etc. etc. Really not an issue at all, just a little bummed out. Can't have everything!:smilewink:
  19. 1. The check-trim warning always triggers when you don't have the trim set appropriately. Always check/set your trim based off the chart a few posts up on every carrier takeoff. Keep in mind that hot starts already have it set, but if you hot start, come back, land, and re-launch you will have to set it. 2. I don't know about this one. Are you perhaps holding down the disengage button? It also acts as the G-limit override when held down so that would cause issues... but even then that shouldn't result in what you described so idk.
  20. T/O trim always sets to 12 degrees. This is fine for normal runways, but it needs to be more on the carrier. In which case you have to manually add the rest after you push T/O trim button. There is a chart somewhere that states what trim is needed depending on weight. Personally I just put it to 16 and have no problem... gets rid of the check trim warning as well.
  21. happens to the best of us!
  22. No...Saying the Hornet should have jettisonable pylons is much different than saying it would be nice if the Hornet had jettisonable pylons. "Should" implies objectivity.
  23. Alphamale- are you saying hornet should be able to jettison the pylons to be accurate with the real life plane, or are you saying it would be nice to have? Considering it has already been stated that the pylons are bolted on, I'm assuming you meant the latter. In which case I think you'd have better luck in the wishlist section of this forum, and to be completely honest I think your argument will fall on deaf ears as it's just not accurate for the plane in question.
  24. Outside of getting 4 other players to fly with you, this isn't really doable. You can do a flight of 4 and put them in a finger four formation to get a "show" type close formation, but if your looking to recreate a blue angels show, the AI will lose it. Having a flight of 5 with AI is not possible. Escort will get another plane to follow your flight, but will not be a part of it, nor will it match your maneuvers other than what it has to do to "escort" you. If you really want to brute force it, you could set up 4 individual AI hornets, give them the path you want, and then fly with them, but you won't have any control over them, and there is still no guarantee the AI will cooperate.
  25. Many reasons...some still classified and some too demanding with current hardware. Also keep in mind a lot of it is upgrading things that have been around in the game for quite some time now (coded for old engine, etc), which is arguably harder than starting from scratch.
