Really? I changed up my controller curves a bit on Chuck's suggestion and got better at trimming her out, but maybe it was just placebo effect. She seemed to have gotten more stable over time especially take off and landing. I fly every version of the Spittie on PC, Mark I-IX on different sims. It starts to become a blur. Loving the Yak so far  I read so many silly comments on why DCS was doing another trainer that it almost became comical. The developer that publishes DCS: Cessna 172 is going to laugh all the way to the bank.

THIS, the module's been in the wild less than 24 hours, LOL Awesome feedback from the OP but coding and debugging takes time. I just went through the entire early access period for the Spitfire and the flight model is like night and day from the first week. She now behaves as described in the historical manuals and by real world pilots but it took over a year. My flight experience consists of a couple hours in a Cessna and glider but I sure had fun flying the Yak. It is nice to know she is being developed to a standard that will be useful for real world training. A Yak-52 and Christen Eagle are a much more realistic possibility for myself and most people to actually be able to fly IRL. There's a guy a couple hours from where I live who rents out a tandem Spitfire for rides but it will set you back several thousand dollars. A Yak or Eagle are actually "affordable".

Just took her for an inaugural spin on the instant action free flight. Had an absolute ball! Was able to land and take off in a field like a bush plane. You can fly low and slow through towns and almost match the speed of traffic. Made an emergency landing on a road with power lines and just started cruising around taxing through town. Very stable for aerobatics and stalls. Perfect plane for when you are burned out on radar, ecm, bvr, etc. Just stick and rudder.

Found the problem with the green glass..
Sn8ke_iis replied to toby23's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Use the clear glass texture from https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=216145 I didn't use a mod manager. I copied over the specific texture for the color in the windscreen to Toby's mod. A combo of both worked best for me. Less green, less reflection -
Yes thank you, you guys are awesome, account was reset in less than 4 hours. I just put 'error 409 offline reset' in the ticket title. I'll be much more aware of any hardware, firmware, OS changes while "offline" in the future, it makes sense that would corrupt an authorization key. thanks again.

Squeaky Wheel Gets the Grease? Hey, I broke my install by doing a BIOS and Graphic driver update while in Offline mode as now I'm getting error code 409. I have submitted a ticket. Any chance of it getting put to the top of the pile like some of the other people in this thread? Would be much appreciated. I promise I'll never do that again. edit: MotorEast fixed the problem in less than 4 hours. I put error 409 in the ticket title and they were on it first thing in the morning Moscow time. :pilotfly:

[FIXED] Green Tint and double reflections on front windscreen
Sn8ke_iis replied to Sn8ke_iis's topic in Bugs and Problems
Toby23's Mod is a good fix Thanks for the response NineLine and everyone else. The Spittie is my first and favorite module. I have solved my personal problem and have my Spittie back! :pilotfly: I replaced only the canopy reflection texture with Toby23's version and I couldn't be happier. Without the double reflection the green tint doesn't really bother me. The reflection effect is much more subtle and does not obscure your vision but you can still see it if you look for it. Your eyes are focused off in the distance instead of the glass. It's much better now. I would suggest adding this texture to the default stock textures. I've attached a few before and after screenshots. In the 'after' shots the reflections are not really visible, but you can see them in game just in a very subtle non intrusive way. edit: I've gone to a combo of Toby23's reflection texture and ams999 clear glass texture as Holbeach suggested below and will be sticking with that. I've yet to try MP but wil try with a mod manager for IC. -

Thanks Toby You're the man, I have my Spittie back! I got good results on my display panel by just replacing the canopy reflection texture with yours. The green didn't really bother me that much. WAY better, much more subtle. You can see it if you look for it, but it doesn't obscure your vision or cause your eyes to focus on the glass instead of off into the distance where they should be. [FIXED INTERNALLY] Canopy bug following Update 6 Hotfix.
Sn8ke_iis replied to bart's topic in Bugs and Problems
Same issue here. Did you guys notice the green tint and double reflections from the gunsight on the front windscreen? This is unplayable until it is fixed. I checked my other modules, it's just Spitfire. -
Yes, please notify me by PM and email when you can invoice me. I will PM my email as well. Thank you for the prompt response. Would it be possible to fit it specifically for my gaming chair? Playseat Airforce model in my signature. I can get you the dimensions and photos. Thank you Sn8ke

Andre, I would like to order an 8 motor jetseat with the black flight sim customization but I did not see it as an option on your website. I would like to place an order for one of those please. Sn8ke

With the upcoming Phantom module and the preexisting system in the Mig 21 module, it would be interesting to see an implementation of combat tree. I play SP, make scale models and am big on historical accuracy. It seems modeling something from the Vietnam era would negate most of the classification issues and information availability of modern IFF in currently flown aircraft. BG Ritchie talks about combat tree in his interview for the documentary series Dogfights. Would be fun to implement alongside the unreliable missiles of the era. Pilots of the era sometimes turned off or the volume down on some of the buzzers and sensors because they were overloaded. They relied on their eyeballs (Phantoms had a WSO), good comms, and the energy advantage of the Phantom in dogfights. Of course, in MP I'm not sure many MiG-21 pilots would want to fly against a combat tree equipped Phantom. I just saw a post on one of Wags' Hornet YT videos asking about IFF. I started to type out a long post about the difficulties of implementing IFF properly and accurately in modern front line fighters but he was just asking if it was on the agenda, he wasn't asking about the details of how it would be modeled. I think the OP has some interesting ideas for implementing at least a basic open source IFF on MP servers, it would add a level of realism and complexity I think most DCS fans would appreciate. No need to get into daily transponder code changes, encryption, and anything hush hush. Just "OK I got a good sqwawk back, that's a a good guy". The details of EW would just open up a can of worms. People could try and hack the code or get some kind of advantage in MP just like they would in real warfare as in combat tree in Vietnam. Israeli fighter pilots were known to speak Arabic on adversary radio comms. Once you get hyper realistic, I think that would start to take the fun out of MP real quick. It would be interesting for historically accurate scripted campaigns or Wild Weasel missions in the Vietnam era in SP.

http://www.airforcetimes.com/news/your-military/2017/08/15/air-force-capt-lands-a-10-with-no-canopy-no-gear/ How's that for an in flight emergency and landing? I wonder what exactly caused the bolts on the canopy to blow?
