Hi Guys, I'm only occasionally getting the sequence right to trigger the launch. Can someone please list the steps and actions once you are stationary over the cat point? In one video I saw the need for Shift-I Holdback bar - but I can't see this in the commands etc. Any advice most appreciated.

think the release notes mentioned they had tweaked ATC logic. I notice with Stennis I can get the approach call but I don't get a tower handoff - and if I recall it is the tower handoff that activated the lights....

Nice visual method Tiger II - how would you use this technique when starting downwind so you can assess 1.3nm separation from the boat?

I'm cheating and have an FFG on station on the port quarter at 1.3nm, makes an easy fly-over. There was a method of setting up the HSI with downwind offset indicator - can anyone remind me please? Other methods? Yes - I'm flying g=10% of CIAS on crosswind with wind adjustment - but this isn't as accurate (for me) as I'd like.....

How to get this? It is as simple as cranking up the surface level wind to 30kts??

yep - more anticipation needed for power reduction on roll-out. That was getting me for a bit.

190 in a turn fight with the M2K is slow - I'm mean in being able to use its advantages. Back at really slow speeds - if everyone back back that slow then it may have just been who was handling their beast well. If you were 110 in the M2K I'd love it. I fly the M2k most, but won't go that slow.

In the ME you can set an FFG7 at 1.2nm spacing and that makes a good visual guide to test your lineup. Also - I find 15 clicks of trim on D/W as the speed comes back gets me to a speed stable trimmed condition with no stick force.

UFP Selector buttons 1 through 5 with AP selected - silly me

I can bind the UFC option buttons - but then it appears that selecting a particular AP mode must be done with a mouse click. Am I wrong?

I use throttle idle in the break - that gets below 250 near 90 on the break

[ALREADY REPORTED] Aircraft Slide on Deck with High Winds I'm seeing some strange slip action on the deck - the tail end 'slipping' into wind when taxiing.... Am I imaging things?

Ok - it was me. Best technique is just to avoid chasing pitch changes and let auto trim hold alpha - however this is only valid as an accurate technique for relatively small variations - as soon as you have large changes you can easily get into pilot induced oscillations where you are chasing the changes across parameters. My initial feel is that the A/P gain may be a bit low and also that the trim change (per click) may be a bit small. Very subjective.

Ok - nice to see I', not going crazy! I'll try 1/2 flap for approach. And also note the need for T/O Trim button prior to launch. Bolter pitch control seems a bit weird as well.

thanks guys - I may need to keep tweaking my stick settings and trim method - techniques and accuracy with the M2000 (approach speed plus or minus 2kts when at reference alpha) are not translating to pitch stable flight on approach with FA18 for me at the moment.

I'm finding it quite difficult to hold a steady speed and attitude at approach speed. There seems to be a bit more pitch change with speed change and also pitch change with power change compared to what I'm used to. Anyone else notice this? Or it is just me? I'm also not finding the pitch trim much use in finding the stable speed/trimmed attitude on approach. Practising heaps, slowly getting better, but above points seem valid to me at the moment....

I can bind the AP switch - but I can't find a way to bind a key or stick button to any of the AP modes in the UFC. Anyone know how to do this?

If I'm just going to use the MIZ file and not the LAU file - where do I put it?

I made a manual 16GB paging file and that helped

I've just done a full PC rebuild and fresh install. The Mirage cannon now seems very very quiet. Can't really hear it. Anyone else have this?
