  1. Verry good job waterman ! Thank you, i really enjoy your work :) If your files is accepted in "users files" download part of ED web site, mean this mods will not break the integrity ? If it still break it, please...Razbam :D
  2. :D Yep he done good. And he his working or have a hobby about this kind of job (graphic) no ? Anyway, now Razbam need to do what he did for the Mirage to be able having this effect without breaking the integrity :) XD
  3. Guys ! I love you both ! Good job :) Nice Waterman...and...how you know you should pass the glass of M2KC_3T in white in case of the original gray shaded ?
  4. At my eyes also. And it's not only subjective. Over all, the Viggen enjoy of a verry strong details and finish, in diffuse textures and also effects textures. But not all module have that. After the Mirage is, at my eyes, in a good average, and in constant progress :)
  5. Yep i'am not sure that modifiying a roughmet will give that deep reflection. It affect reflection but don't "create" it. Look how the scratch shine on the Viggen : Almost sure it need to be managed through specular no ? after i will try to play with color (green and purple) in the roughmet map :)
  6. Ha yeah, ok :) Sorry, english is not my mother tong. Ok i understand, yes for sure it's little subjectiv. And that effect don't look the same on everyplane.* --- Also for Waterman and others, i did check, and it's cool that Razbam did fix the issue about the "pixel art map" ! That great ! After, reflection are little flat comparing to DCS 2.2, but they are super attentive and efficient. I'm happy to see that Razbam work hard on this Mirage. Here what i mean by "flat reflection". Here is 2.2 screenshot, it's not flat (look at the long slim reflection at the back of the cockpit) : Here is 2.5, and the reflection look more "candy style" or "smooth", it lack the little irregularity of the first screen. The plane look more perfect. The first screen show irregularity and more details and disformation of the plane in the reflection. I see you coming :) Yes, in my first screenshot i use a specular map moded. But we was able to see this kind of effects (irregular reflection) even with no mod installed, reflection was more "unperfect" in 2.2 (and was looking less "this is 3D!"), and it was giving a better realistic/photorealism rendering in 2.2 at my eyes. But i speak here only about the way reflection give cool unperfections and details. After, what i love, it's that : all the plane is in PBR, and it look cool :) ---- But also, i noticed that the lighting of DSC (over all) did change beetwin the 2.2 and 2.5 (in Nevada i mean, the only map we can compare beetwin this 2 version of DCS). In the 2.5, it look less powerfull...at my eyes i mean. Maybe cause it was really illuminated hard in the 2.2 (but i love more like how it was, after i can use filter, gamma, or screen setting to approach almost the same). ++
  7. Good job Waterman ! The only thing is that, for me the scratchs don't shine as it deserve (look at the Viggen in the same condition of lighting to see how the scratch look alive throught the shining). Maybe that is possible to do with some specular map that i spoke about, and is not managable actually (because not added as a possible/renderable layer on the mesh ?). Or i don't know :D But, out of that point, it's really well done ! :) I will not be able to creat my own today, i'm little buzy and i use my freetime for other deal XD But, i will try soon maybe. ps : your "Mirage 2000D like" skin is cool also ;) Why ? More it's realistic and beautiful, better it is :)* You speak maybe about the integrity check ? * After, i agree that what is the most important is the FM and the simulation/integration/finalisation of the embedded systems...yes totally. But why not the two ? And maybe it's not the same people who are working on the technical side and the design side.
  8. Yeah Waterman ! Thank you ! :) You made it, nicely, it just lack some scratchs at my eyes, but you made it properly :) I will try do do this tonight :) Will keep you updated. Cause this effect on the canopy is really good with the Viggen for exemple, because the scratchs. It will be anyway better if Razbam can do it, cause every mod from individual corrupt the integrity of the game (integrity check, to fly online)... And actualy the glass look too perfect. But, are you sure the issue with the bump map "pixel art style" is fixed ? I did notice it yesterday i think(?), and also i really noticed lot of noise (light) on reflection in some specific angle and power of light. Nop :) The cockpit from ouside view is not enlighted by instruments in night fly. As the A-10, the Ka-50, and others... The pilot (over all) miss speculars maps (i think ?) and maybe bump but i didn't check it since the 2 lastest update. They also must to fix the to much dark nozzle. It was better before the nozzle :) But changing it alone break the integrity. Also, the Mirage, comparativly to the Viggen for exemple, lack some texture managing and level of details (textures detail and how different kind of textures is managed and how it look in game, what ever it' is external or in cockpit view). Definitivly, all modules are not the same quality in DCS. And the Mirage is in the average at my eyes. After, it's a criticise, but not a bashing ! I love the Mirage and i love that Razbam don't forget to update it ! :) They can be prood and i love and want to know that we take pleasure to fly in theire planes, and even if it's not perfect, they are improving it !
  9. Yes the too dark noozle is fixable, i did it also, but it break the integrity... It will be better if Razbam do it hihi. Also, you look like someone who maybe can know :) : I tryed to create by myself the scratchs/dirt on the cockpit glass (exterior view), like the Viggen. But the specular map of the cockpit don't work at all (or look like it don't). I tryed to paint this map in every colors...i didn't notice any différence. I speak about it here (for more details, cause i don't wanna be OS here and speak about that here too much) : https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3394626&postcount=33 If you have any idea, don't hesitate to share it in the thread i linked :)
  10. Great work Timghetta/ Razbam team, thank you ! It really look better now ! I love it ! It's nice to see that Razbam continue to pamper the Mirage :) As other ppl said, it need some fix still : 1) the bump map (outside) need to be fixed (that give “pixel art style” visible with reflexion XD) As people already said and show in last posts here. You noticed it ;) But, it's present even with low lighting, and in fact it's present on all the surface of the plane : 2) the reactor nozzle is to much dark/black (comparatively to the true Mirage): In fact the reactor nozzle was more realistic before the last update :D 3) Some diffuse or spec textures are strange or bugged or missed: 4) the reflexion/specular on the mirage is little too diffused comparativly to the real one (the specular maps deserve little stronger greenish over all or just stronger contrast maybe) 5) Maybe, that can be cool, the canopy glass, from external view, deserve some scratchs and dirt when reflection comes on it, as we can see on the Viggen : https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=152489&d=1480360298 The actual specular/reflexion on the canopy of the Mirage look to much perfect and "new" ! But, anyway, thanks Razbam/team for your work and update that make this Mirage growing up and evolve ! :) ++
  11. Hi, sorry to up this thread. Iam looking for adding scratchs and irregularity on the glass canopy (external view) of the Mirage. I search to create a rendering like this (Viggen) : I tried to add scratchs by remplacing this map : M2KC_3Specular.dds And it does not change anything. I tryed to add blue, red, yellow, green, purple, etc...and nothing change at all. I tryed also to remplace other maps related to the glass, and it work, but in diffuse only (and i search to make it work on speculars and/or normals). It look like the "M2KC_3Specular.dds" map is not connected to the mesh. Any idea of what i missed ? Thanks. ++
  12. Nice post, thanks !
  13. Maybe little yes, after, the Mirage have a darker cockpit than the F-5E. Factually (IRL). The grey in both cockpit are not the same. It stay normal that the Mirage cokpit is darker than the F-5 cockpit so. Even with global illumination (dark colors do not make the light bounce as on light colors). After, maybe it deserv more enlightenment. I don't know. But it do not have to be the same than the F-5 (after i'm sure it's not what you wanted to say, but in case XD). What can be cool also, is to fix the IFF light, some other light that is not fonctioning. And the hand/pocket flashlight that is too weak even in the middle of the night hihi :) --- Thanks Timghetta to make the Mirage looking better and updated now :) This Mirage is great and is still growing up. Both : visually and, of course, about embedded systems, functionality and behavior. Theire is still some way to travel, and it's normal, but i'm happy to see that you do not forget the Mirage users! :)
  14. I don't know about energy, some ppl said it's to much powerfull now. I don't know. But with the upgrade, it becomed more interesting to land and fly with hard wind and turbulences. And yes, for sure about the AP, with the smokewinder, the flares and the eject seat, (and the external view to fly :( haha ) it's what he know how to use :D And also, he start to undertsand the effect of altitude on the plane. After, he gets bored fast, at this age that is normal. The trim itself (out of AP) stay complicated to use for a child that pass lot of time to change the direction, the altitude and the speed. It's pretty impossible for him to follow anything. Beeing more serious, he did succes to land 2 times, by luck (really), only when the plane is already in final approach. Now, the luck don't look enought. It's a personal experience that does not reflect what is factual about the new FM. But i saw that pretty fun to share the idea that the mirage was maybe to easy to pilot, and now, it look more realistic. Even if in deep, i don't have the knowedge. But by induction, i think the better FWB system can not make a plane land with a crosswind without any stress... After, the Mirage is known (what I heard) to be easy to fly, from real pilot, i think they almost all said it's easy and in the same time verry responsive.
  15. That's true ! I need to say, when a child can land a Mirage with a advanced flight model. Even if you know that you don't know anything about the Mirage comportment IRL, something like that come to your mind : "do this FM is really realistic ?" Now, he fail ! And iam happy :D But we can not say, even now, that the Mirage is hard to pilot...we can still feel the FBW is really good. After, it's also well known that the Mirage is "easy" to pilot IRL, if i can say what pilots in flightschool say everywhere (but to the point that a child can land ?! The f*** no ! :P)
  16. Iam still seeking help about the part of the canopy modification (see the end of my last message, just up) ;) But knowing that Razbam is working on the full model in PBR i will not make any other modification for now as i said, waiting to see how it will look. They have to rework on all the textures to switch in PBR. So. We will see.
  17. I'm not at all a specialist about aviation, i'm not a pilot, i'm not an enginer. But i see, feel and love much more the way that the Mirage evolve now. Now, my soon, 9 years old, can not land it as before like in Train Simulator with a full crosswing ! :joystick::D (i made it fun but it happened..). And i like to believe it's more coherent with reality :megalol:
  18. I feel the same. Personally, iam happy that the new FM is like this now. It was really to easy to make a perfect land before, what ever the wind. Mirage was like a train. Now, it stay like a train, easy to fly and land, but not crazy easy as before. I feel it's better now, and maybe more realistic probably. FBW is not a tool of God and do not make the wind, turbulences, and lack of precision and optimal speed disappear.
  19. Ho yeah ! Shame on me to speak before to know. Good news :)
  20. I totally understand and agree with you waterman. The Mirage start slowly to look « old » graphicaly. The cockpit yes, material, textures... But also the exterior. Look in close details at the Viggen to see the differences. Mirage will need a new lifting. I see it normal and coherent to wait such improvement and update for an hardore module. After, its not the most important, as a post here already did list it :) and in this area Razbam is present ! After, why not asking the two, hihi ;)
  21. Hi everyones ! Finally, i tried to make this speculars maps using the lastest original .DDS maps of the Mirage. You can download it here, if you see it nice: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/13Cqj0DR0d_WLp2EXnawscU1D7-swZwsD Thanks Sedenion to helped me to make it by my own like you, even if iam pretty sure you could make it in a better way ;) This is how it looks actually: Not sure it will according to your taste...but...i mean, i tried ! :) Now : i need to fix the speculars for the fuels tanks and maybe the specular and the dirt of the cockpit, that is actually not looking equivalent to some others planes. But i'm really not trusting that i can manage such work ! I will see, but, don't wait from me XD I need help also !: I wanna add on the specular map of the canopy (from external view) some scratchs and irregularities, on the glass. The Mirage canopy look absolty new and clean. It's not the case for the Viggen (reflexion on the canopy show beautifull details in glass specular), Migs, L-39, etc... So i did take the canopy specular texture from the Viggen to add it on the specular DDS of the canopy of the Mirage. That change absolulty nothing in game ! Even with other textures, adding colors, playing with transparency...etc...it change nothing at all. It look like the canopy specular map of the Mirage (M2KC_3Specular) don't work, but iam pretty sure it's me who fail something... I need you here. Thanks for your help ! :) ++
  22. Meshs of pilots in DCS are not that complexe, but i agree your point in deep. We need a verry complexe HD mesh to create a good normal map to apply on a lowpoly mesh. After, it's stay possible to create a normal map from a diffuse painting, but i agree that's not the better way. Depending how it's done, it can also be better than nothing. Anyway, adding specular and maybe normal maps in the cockpit and pilot/helmet will not be a luxuary from Razbam knowing that : concurrency do it, and the new engine EDGE will entirely give a sens to it ! I mean, i just see that the aesthetic of this Mirage can be better (specially inside). And since some years now, gamedesigner know how to use that textures easly, and i don't find any reason why designer from Razbam does not. Now that we have a flightmodel more managable and realistic and that almost all systems are simulated... And when the Harrier will be finished... why not make the work consistent with the concurrency present in the same game and same engine, and consistent with what is done today in gamedesign ?
  23. I'm surprised to see that the Mirage 2000 does not have any specular maps (and bumb/normal maps) for the cockpit and also for the pilot clothes and his helmet (and a hard spec of reflection on the helmet visor) as lot of of advanced aircraft have (Viggen, L-39, Mig15...) :( This Mirage (especialy the cockpit) deserve an aesthetic update (texture layers) to be adapted and enjoy to the new 2.5 engine. It's not that hard, i think, to create for exemple a normal map of the pilot's clothes from the basical cockpit diffuse maps. But theire is no way for such files to be managed in game actually even if a "fan" create it. It's surely harder to create speculars and normal maps for the inside cockpit, but really, it will increase the rendering without asking such ressources...especialy with the incoming 2.5 !
  24. Woo ! You started from a flat image ? That's skilled, you managed to keep some verry smalls areas on the plane out of specular map (lines and bolts). You made you own layer i think ? I will make my own version, but not sure that i will success to make it efficient as your version :joystick: Thank you for your answer :) --- Heuu mais tes Français XD ?
  25. Hi, i need to say this specular fix is a must to have for a more realistic Mirage 2000 ! Thank you :) But the textures of the Mirage did change recently with the update from Razbam, and the actual specular map is little different now. The result is some straggered textures (in game) between the actual diffuse and this "old" specular fix. I mean, not sure it's because of that, but i think it is maybe because of this. I wanna work on the actual new specular maps, to fix it again. But i think I will need the full layered files sources, the specular maps with all layers inside (.PSD). It's possible to add specular power with the actual flat DDS/PNG by “playing” with Photoshop, but details suffer from this method. Where can i find the sources (layered files) of the new specular maps for the Mirage ? I find layered sources for diffuse maps, skins, etc..but not the specular maps. Thanks you :) ++
