Hey i maybe have a issue ? I said on my last post that clouds are very "flat" and grey when the sun is low, and it must be much darker in shadow casted parts, lighty in exposed parts etc...And it is a knowed "issue" from ED (it was in the changelog). But... I did see this screen recently and it is really good ! : The question is to know if this screenshot was taken from the 2.7 that we have or not (it look like no). But maybe did i miss something in my graphical settings ? In case of, i ask XD ED 2.7 : I don't have at all the same result (i tried different time and preset, and can not get the same)... XD : For sure it is maybe just because our clouds are less advanced that the ED internal version (for sure even). But maybe i missed something. Thanks ! EDIT : Ok i did see multiple video online, i think this is "normal" ! ED have probably a more advanced version. Anyway, clouds are already great, and will be greater.

+1 (and sure it is asked since so long). It will be nice. But i think if this kind of option is not already done, it's for a deep reason. Not that much game don't permit to change the setting in game. Maybe it's something heavy to make in DCS. For any reason.

I agree totally with this post. What i see is needed : - More sharped edges and details overall, even with the small clouds (really they are too blurry, it's almost ugly sometimes) - More colors maybe? (shades of cold and hot grays) that will give dimension to shapes - More clear exposed parts (enlightned) and more darker self shadow-casted parts (must be little more darker ... clouds are too "flat", it need to be more "naturally" contrasted trought shadows casting and self shadow casting [it's already done but not enought and deserve more precision). - I can add here that the clouds are too "flat and uncolored" and stay almost white-gray when the sun is really low, it give a wrong constrat/colors comparated to the ground enlightment (but about that ED is aware and it is a WIP ! They are working on it). Anyway, clouds is adding so much on DCS, even with this first version. It give sens to IFR, strategy and immersion...Big thanks ED

DCS Syria - Mod Requets - terrain noise
Mav783 replied to Goa's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Hi, do the actual .lua mod for Syrian is also improving the quality of the textures (i d'ont speak about the repetition stripes, but about the textures sharpness and quality) as for PG ? The .lua are not the same name and not the same folders. Not clear in fact for me :D Sorry :s Because, the "terrainoptions41.lua" is touching all the maps (it's an unique file for all terrains)...no ? EDIT ANSWER : Ok, yes, the original "terrainoptions41.lua" from this link : https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3513717&postcount=3 Is perfectly working with Syrian as for others maps :) I just needed to don't touch anything :) I again can not believe how this modification in this .lua file is not still implemented in DCS "officially". It multiply the quality of the texture, and ask almost no ressources...The original Syrian and PG map look "blurry" without this mod. Really ! -
DCS Persian Gulf - terrain noise tiles fix.
Mav783 replied to Mustang's topic in Texture/Map Mods for DCS World
EDIT : i found the answer here : https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=284204 Thanks Mustang ! :) -
Superbe Jojo ! ;)

Thanks guys :) Britchot, what you mean by the IC issue ? If you mean that the plane don't load the texture (all black), yes and no, the only way founded to fix it is to set up the textures to the max setting. ++

Slew aiming control DL pod don't recenter automatically
Mav783 replied to Mav783's topic in JF-17 Thunder
Ha ok, i puted this on the joystick TDC buttons. I will maybe put it in the minijoy axes as you Tiger. Waiting the feature to come. Thank for you help guys ! :) -
Hello, I meet a trouble with the JF and the DLPod with the AKG cruise missile in MAN (man in the loop). My slew control of the aiming cross don't re-center automatically after correction and mooving the alidade (cross/aiming). I need to moove it all the time and center it by myself. My special option (in menus) "KYBD Pitch Control" is set to "Auto Re-Center" (i tried also "accumulative" and "blender" with no results...). The "DL Pod Slew Rate" option change nothing else but the speed of aiming. It's like my auto-re-center option don't work (maybe the wrong keybind ? I use the "formal"T5 TDC" bind"). An idea ? ++

Hi, Thank for your kind words Conroy :) The "wrong" thing with the UEA livery is that : it's not a 2000C but a -9 (a special version, much more close to the -5F than the C, even if also different from the -5F). I wanted to do first the actual existing export versions of the "C" as the Egyptian EM and Greek EG. But, but... "because" of Persian Gulf i maybe need to do the UEA, yes :D The 1/2 Cigognes are not using the C version no more (only the "2/5 Ile-de-France" are still using the C version IRL, all other squadrons goes on -5F), but can be good to do, yep. I may do the 1/30 Alsace also (with it black radome). But all that will not be done before long time. I simply don't have the time now, but maybe later. I will keep you udpated if that happen for sure.

Very good job ! :) You also dirted the diffuse map no ?
-
Thank to you :)

Hi ! Sory for my latency, i was not home. Not for now, but maybe later (i don't guaranty but i will try. E think about the UEA skin first, and also other French skin from others squadrons);)

Hi :) , Since the last update (DCS OpenBeta), the mod no longer passes the integrity check (greenshield) :( I tried 3 ways. - The direct install in "_Mods" folder, in DCS folder, with or without JSGME. - The installation in the folder "liveries" in the "user" folder (C: ) - The undirect install, with a "entry.lua" file un the user folder (C: ), but with the liverie in an folder that is not even related to DCS. Nothing work :s Serveurs with the greenshield will not accept this mod. For now. It's maybe caused by the definition of the .DD files (8K), or any other reasons, i don't know. If any idea to fix that come to you, don't hesitate ;) ++

We are saying in male. "Le Mirage", or "Un Mirage". Same for the Rafale ;) About the subject, i never saw a Mirage without it refueling probe (what ever the version), and i think that even finding a photo online without it will be hard (not impossible maybe, but rare out of Greek planes). I think Razbam really have other things to do with this 2000C than proposing this option, that is not used IRL more than for exeptional moments or testing events. Even if i can understand better for the Greek plane (that sometimes take it off).

DCS Persian Gulf - terrain noise tiles fix.
Mav783 replied to Mustang's topic in Texture/Map Mods for DCS World
Hey, i have a methaphisics question. Why ED don't modificate the "terrainoptions41.lua" file as Mustang did ? It really increase nicely the textures quality and it don't take any FPS... It seem easy to modifiate. -
Thanks guys ! Merci :)
-
Thanks DonJosh ;) I plan to update this one when needed, and upload the PSD layered files. Also, making 2 or 3 liveries. For now, i don't plan to retexturate other modules. But why not in the futur.
