New Just got Black Shark and need help with bindings
FistofZen replied to retired_old_sarge's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
haha, let me say it, do it and learn on your own, jokes aside. I have done the binding all by myself on my TM T16000M HOTAS. Well, I had the Ka50 for a while before buying the HOTAS so I knew what I needed to bind. Now I don't have the time to talk about the necessary bindings, but I will come later and tell you all you need to fly it, without lifting your hands from the HOTAS. Cheers -
Thank you guys.

What do you mean by "missile's onboard seeker acquires the target by picking up the target returns of the radar energy emitted by the aircraft radar"? So, the R27R is picking up the energy emitted by the Su27 which is then reflected by the target?
-
So how the R27R works is pretty simple in explanation, but something still confuses me. Namely, semi-active radar guided, which is explained as "guided by launcher's radar" to the target. So what I have seen many times in the simulator, is what made me question how does it really work. In the simulator, after the R27R is launched, it then flies to the target, but if the target dispenses chaffs and flanks avoid the missile, then the missile gives up prior to flying past the target and flies straight. (It doesn't fly straight from the start, it does try to intercept the target). If it is guided by the radar, then the radar should also be tricked by the chaffs and the maneuver and it should brake the lock. The question is - If the missiles is guided by the radar, how comes it gets lured by chaffs while the radar still keeps the target locked? That's if it works like this. I would like to know how exactly to these SARH missiles work and communicate with the launcher's radar.

More work for the modders.

Is anyone of the readers not hurt by my post? It seems that you understood this post as a request to remove the tint, which is not what I requested and I didn't request anything at all, it is just something what we observed and I wanted to share the thoughts. I apologize, I should have know its the angles. This is something new to add on the "list of excuses".
-
Yeah, the models are different, but the point is the same. With current Deferred shader, it is really dark. http://voodoo-world.cz/hornet/info.html - On this website you can find the a picture of the HUD. Edit - It seems that "angles" play a major role in deciding whether something is realistic or not.
-
Someone else was flying the Harrier.

Me and my friend analyzed the HUD purple tint after seeing the latest video of the Hornet, by Magz. We came to the conclusion that the HUD purple tint too dark is and not very realistic. A couple of documents below. On the first video, when the background is bright, the purple tint is almost gone, but when the background is darker, the purple tint is a bit more present, but still not dark as in game.

so which SA-2 variant will we get?
FistofZen replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: Combined Arms
Crewable or not, it would be nice to control it like the Tor, Tunguska and others with the simple radar screen (rCtrl+F10). -
Ha, never thought of finding it there. Thanks. I thought more of a control, hide and show while flying.

For example, the Ka-50 has shkval settings behind the cyclic, laser settings and a couple of other things. Mig21Bis has also some knobs and buttons behind the joystick. In the case of the A10C, there is nothing that is necessary to click on behind the joystick. The F18C will come with a third display, and some gauges which are behind the joystick. Can you make the joysticks/cyclic hidable, to have an easier access to some parts behind them?| I know, having a headtrack device makes it easy, just shift left or right and viola. I would still like to see this feature, after all most of the joysticks aren't clickable.

Please bring back object size settings!

Can we get ammo crate cargos that work, not just as a decoration. It would be really nice to be able to transport ammo crates that can be used to rearm ground units, and it would add more work and realism for helicopter pilots. From bullets to ATGM ammo, and maybe tank rounds. Pilot enters a helicopter, requests ammo from the warehouse and then takes it to the field where it is needed. Thanks
-
I have to say that now, after the 2.5.1 the game uses a lot less of virtual ram. Pagefile usage is almost 90% less, from 25+gb to some 2gb now, with preload radius set to max. Great achievement in this field.

[REPORTED]TGP and Ka-50 Shkval bug
FistofZen replied to FistofZen's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Adjusting the shvkal makes it even worse. -
1. Ground units behavior - very, very unrealistic and simply bad. Damaging a vehicle or a soldier, is just wasting bombs and gun ammo. Health points model needs to be removed, it is simply an embarrassment for this "simulation". 2. Anti-collision lights penetrating solid material and illuminating the cockpit. 3. Search light on the Mi8 is penetrating solid material and can illuminate the cockpit. 4. Flares on the A10C when deployed, illuminate some rear parts of the cockpit. 5. Flares in general are too bright and glow too much and are transparent like. 6. Tankers should notify pilots when they are about to enter a turn, left or right. 7. AWACS should be more precise if the enemy is from right to left or left to right, from right to left they can say "flanking left" and vice versa. 8. Add some communications, ask they guys to give you the SRS, give them credits or pay them, whatever. Soon the F18 will come out, already the A10C in game and some other advanced planes, still unable to have radio communication integrated in the simulator. Some of the stuff above are "bugs", but not officially. The other wishes aren't just my whims, but simply a necessity in DCS. Thanks.

No more russian aircrafts as FC3 or FC4. Forget it.
-
Thats present since I got it, from 1.5.6. This seems to be intended, since it is only the case when you pop out your head to check the cargo. Otherwise, in F2, F3 etc it is there, the wheels are visible.
-
I am in the same position, buying FC3 for the Mig29 is just too much.
-
Started the game today, now it works and the control slot isnt red as on the picture.
