Looking for a squad in the US -Centeral time zone
ChuckIV replied to upyr1's topic in Squadron Recruiting
If you have the Spitfire module, number 41 squadron is looking for recruits. We have a couple of guys in the central U.S. We practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays 7-9PM Pacific time. In a fun, relaxed way we practice together so we can do multiplayer PVP occasionally sometimes on the weekends as well if enough of us can get together. If this sounds good to you private message me. If you have the Spitfire module, number 41 squadron is looking for recruits. We are laid-back and relaxed bunch of guys that like to train together to go online against other players. Private message me if this interests you. ChuckIV

Hi Jixer, spitfire No. Squadron 41 is looking for pilots to join the fun. We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays 7-9PM Pacific time. We practice as a squadron working on strategies and tactics, but we keep it fun light and not too serious. We also do multiplayer PVP sometimes on those days and occasionally on weekends for those that can get online. We use Discord for our comms. We welcome you if you would like to join. Private message me and I will get you the Discord information for this coming Thursday. ChuckIV

OK, so I can be seen as a server to some, but not others. While I'm online as a server (not a dedicated server), I can have a friend make sure I'm visible and get that confirmed. At the exact same time, another friend does NOT see me on the multiplayer server list. What can cause this problem?? Any advice you have would be helpful. Thank you, ChuckIV

Looking for Spitfire Pilots to form a new team!
ChuckIV replied to BugsBunny's topic in Squadron Recruiting
We are forming up a RAF No. 41 Squadron based out of Funtington and Ford AB. PM BugsBunny for more information on how to join up!!! -
I'm hoping someone that hosts a lot can help me. When I host a SIMPLE session (not a dedicated server), all my controls do not work. I just sit there on the tarmac without any controls working. What am I missing? Please help! ChuckIV

Looking for Spitfire Pilots to form a new team!
ChuckIV replied to BugsBunny's topic in Squadron Recruiting
ChuckIV is in !!!!!!!!! ChuckIV is in!!! OK guys, it's time to create a Fighter Command 11 RAF Spitfire group!!! I've got a couple more guys that will most likely join us. WE NEED YOU!!! Join our brand new growing squadron! We are looking to have FUN - that is our main goal; to have a good time, not take it too seriously, fly a flexible schedule, and take this simulator to the next level. Pull the trigger guys! You're ready!! ChuckIV -
bump - yes, this still happens with the WWII aircraft as well. I've gotten to where when a group RTB's, I just delete them once they get to the base instead of the merry-go-round until they all eject.

Strage AI climb behavior
ChuckIV replied to Reflected's topic in Aircraft AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
I'm with FunkyFranky I also would like it if the planes would gain altitude in a LINEAR fashion from one WP to the next WP. This way, as mission designers, we can "tell" the AI aircraft to climb as aggressive or as casual as we want. ChuckIV -
Yes, however... Your setup is VERY similar to my set up I just updated. Your system will run DCS in MEDIUM mode. If you put all settings to HIGH, it will get a little jumpy (FPS - frame rates) especially low to the ground or in a fur ball with too many aircraft at the same time. If you go to 3 monitors, it will need to be in LOW graphics mode (which is still pretty amazing). Hope this info helps. ChuckIV

Use a flag 1 and flag 2 as a timer (counter) Set flag 1 to zero at mission start. Set flag 2 to a random value between the minimum and maximum number of seconds you want the spawn to happen. Add 1 to flag 1 every second, and when flag 1 hits the same value of flag 2 (i.e. flag 1 equals flag 2), then start the spawn. Also, you can reset flag 1 to zero and flag 2 to another random number of seconds again as this spawn occurs - if you want to spawn another repeatedly. Hope this idea helps. ChuckIV

Make B-17 available for other countries?? What I'm trying to do is make the B-17 available for OTHER countries. I don't want to force the USA to be the red coalition because I want the USA P-51 go up against the German B17 for example. If I force the USA over to the red coalition so the red can use the B17, then won't that make ALL the USA planes red as well ??? I just want to make the B17 available for the Third Reich for example - How do I do that??? ChuckIV
-
How? How do I... "add the "USAF Agressors" to the same faction as "Third Reich" ??
-
Hi Guys, I'm in the process of making a "German" bomber using the B17 bomber in disquise. I'm almost done with the skin, but I don't know how to make this plane selectable for the Germans or Third Reich. In other words, when in the editor, the B17 does not show up as an option/type for the Germans or Third Reich. Also, selecting "Ground Attack" or "Runway Attack" for the Third Reich doesn't show the B17 as a choice. In the description file, at the bottom, I put the following lines thinking this might do it... name = "Dornier Do-217 Bomber" countries = {"GER", "NZG",} ... but still no luck. Does anyone know how to make a plane selectable for a certain faction?? ChuckIV

P-51 vs Bf109K - TavView track - ask for debriefing
ChuckIV replied to tapi's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Couple of ideas... I didn't read everyone's responses, so I apologize if these ideas were already mentioned... 1. Set the fuel to "regular" for all the Bf109's; not the high octane stuff 2. Make sure your fuel load is 50% instead of 100%. Just a couple of ideas to even things out a bit. ChuckIV -
The most uncomfortable pitchup issues
ChuckIV replied to Cintra's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Game Flight Mode?? Are you ABSOLUTELY SURE you don't have the "Game Flight Mode" box checked??? This is EXACTLY what happened to me about a week ago. I reinstalled DCS stable version. I had to redo all my flight controls. Found out I had the little boxed checked for "Game Flight Mode". Unchecked it, and all was good!! ChuckIV -
BIGNEWY Get a load of this, it was all caused by reloading DCS stable version. Reloading all my modules. Then NOT realizing that I was stuck in GAME FLIGHT MODE !!! That's all it was. Unclick this little box, and all trims work fine. Good one to remember. ChuckIV

[NEED LOGS / TRACK REPLAY]Debrief & Logbook Problems - Not Counting Kills
ChuckIV replied to Bambino's topic in General Bugs
MOOSE The only time I've ever noticed this is when I spawn enemy aircraft using MOOSE .lua scripts. In MOOSE, spawned aircraft will not give you any credit for the kills. Since you just joined DCS in December, I'm betting you are not writing MOOSE .lua code as of yet. ChuckIV -
Using NVIDIA's Surround with DCS? How?
ChuckIV replied to ChuckIV's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
OK, so I set SSAA to zero and that allowed DCS to start up again. Having my center monitor be a little larger than the two on the sides I think is causing my problem with the weird shadows moving across my main screen. Setting all resolutions to 1920x1080, the only thing I can do with a 3Camera setup is adjust the viewDx and viewDy settings as well as the x and y values to try matching up the 3 screens the best I can. It's not perfect, but it will have to do for now. If all 3 monitors are exactly the same monitors, and using 3Camera.lua file, that provides the best overall experience I think. Of course, your computer would have to be able to handle the extra pixels. (3 times the load!!) ChuckIV -
Thanks SkateZilla - I turned off SSAA and that allowed it to work again. I still get very strange shadow movement across the screen if I try to adjust my resolution of my side monitors. My center monitor is a little larger than my side monitors. If I stick with 1920x1080 on all 3, it works but I have to live with the poor alignment. ChuckIV

Still No Luck w/Trims Tried uninstalling my Desktop Aviator trim wheels and reinstalling them on the computer. Tried clearing the adjust controls settings for the trim wheels and reassigning them. Tried mapping different keys to the elevator and rudder trims - did not work - trim wheels in cockpit do turn - but no effect. Tried to reinstall Spitfire and Mustang modules - did not work. Mustang aileron trims don't work either. Everything works EXCEPT trims. Any ideas anyone???
-
Using STABLE version. Been a DCS customer for 5 years now. After a REPAIR and CLEAN today to try fixing a 3-monitor issue, I noticed my elevator and rudder trims no longer work. Everything else seems to work fine. They show as working in the adjust controls section as well as in flight (trim wheels rotate in cockpit). They also show the trim tabs moving on the elevators and rudder in chase view. However, they do not effect the actual aircraft in any way. I'm stuck in a state of too much up-trim. The plane climbs continuously. This happens to both my Spitfire and Mustang by the way. Anyone have this ever happen to them??? If so, what was the fix?? I await your replies, and thanks!! ChuckIV
