  1. It’s funny though because clearly they have touched it, since the RWR knows what a J-11 is and displays it differently from the Su-27, Su-33, and MiG-29... they just don’t want to acknowledge their issue
  2. It was reported several months ago, all we got back was “show us documents about the RWR or else we don’t have to do anything” followed by “we’re too busy working on a new project to fix the gazelle.” Don’t forget the sound bug for the shitstral seeker has been around for multiple months now too. Don’t expect things to change, they haven’t in the past 6+ months.
  3. Bump, still not resolved or acknowledged by ED
  4. I mean you asked for a reason why people don't use the dots. There you have one. Sure, for formation flying and aerobatics, relaxed flying you can use them all you want. It doesn't change the issues with them in PvP or the general non-realism of being able to see things through clouds or your own cockpit. The dot stands out plenty through gray cockpit panels and white clouds. We do appreciate you working toward changing it but for now it's just not viable for PvP or serious flying.
  5. The dot system and labels in general have other issues which have been reported, such as labels appearing through clouds, terrain, and cockpit panels. That means even if it gives better spotting ability in perfect conditions, it often gives very unrealistically good spotting abilities in poor conditions. AFAIK, it's for that reason most servers avoid the dots. Also,I think it requires some level of modification if you don't want it to show red or blue but just grey (so it doesn't IFF for you). All of these might be fine for SP or Coop multiplayer, but for any kind of PvP it really doesn't work
  6. We did some testing and from 5-7nm the TOF is about 3 seconds longer with the loft on than with it off, which can actually be quite significant.
  7. I've gotten it to work with the radio tuned to 251.000 manually on the tanker practice. Make sure you're using the specific radio keybind for the radio you tuned (e.g. COM1 or COM2) not just the standard radio button ("" for me at least). Alternatively there is an option somewhere in the game settings called "Easy Communications" where you can just use the generic radio button and your radios will auto-configure themselves.
  8. I have low hopes of them doing anything about it, but maybe
  9. I looked at it in the mission editor, the tanker is on 251.000 so use that. There's just nothing in the briefing that tells you that
  10. In the regular mission on Caucasus for practicing AAR, there is no radio frequency mentioned for the tanker in the briefing, neither is it a preset radio frequency, so without loading the mission into the editor to check the frequency there is no way to contact the tanker. This only affects people who don't use the "Easy Communication" option, but that setting is not enforced on in the mission either.
  11. From what I've heard (not necessarily reliable sources), IRL there's some kind of option on the MFD to enable/disable similar to the hornet's. Not sure if there's a way to do it through the hotas like the cage/uncage on the hornet, but logically since it's configurable in the hornet, it should be on the eagle too.
  12. I've been playing extensively on Blue Flag Caucasus which has only AIM-7s and I can gaurantee you they are incredibly easy to defeat when they loft, not to mention it takes almost twice as long to reach the target. Nose on at 6-7 miles? If yours lofts and theirs doesn't, you're dead. A quick S-turn bleeds the energy super easily, and even if not their missiles will reach you a good 5-10 seconds faster than yours will reach them. As long as things are balanced and you're not trying to fight AMRAAMs or R-27ERs with them, you really don't need/want loft to do well.
  13. Well that would be great but even so a simple keybind would seemingly be a quick easy temporary fix for a very frustrating and common problem
  14. As of right now, both versions of the AIM-7 always loft in the F-15C currently (outside of the auto loft-disable range, I think it's 5nm?). This makes it very difficult to use in a lot of scenarios where you really don't want loft. Many people have reverted to carrying AIM-7Fs in weapons-restricted missions without AMRAAMs because they don't loft. Please either make it so that sparrows don't loft by default on the eagle or add a bindable control to enable/disable lofting such as the cage/uncage button in the hornet.
  15. It is possible to overG the INS which would cause it to accumulate a lot of extra error. Also things like repeatedly taking off and landing could do it, I remember during the livestream HB talked about how one of them had an INS failure on takeoff because of how bumpy it is. Any of these could definitely cause the VV to be incorrect
  16. The ADM-141A and B TALD are guided gliders, the ADM-141C Improved TALD has a turbojet for extended range
  17. I had this happen a couple times too, my RIO joined my plane without needing me to approve him at least 4 or 5 times. Also, he apparently still had the menu for Iceman AI, so it could be that there was some issue with the way the game was telling if he was command or not and thinking he was the pilot?
  18. When trying to AAR, “Use the force, Luke!”
  19. Yeah, it was on (it was an air start and I also checked to make sure, it was working with the SA page). It just doesn't appear that the two systems are linked in any way. The diamond/square has never been 100% reliable, but I was hoping that now that the airplane has a better way of determining friend or foe the HUD and HMD should just always reflect whatever the rest of the plane knows. It definitely seems like not though.
  20. Just wondering, has anything been touched with the old IFF system (Diamond vs. Square on the HUD)? I did some testing and practice with the Datalink stuff, but as far as I could tell, it's still the same not very reliable diamond and square system, with nothing to do with the SA page's data. For example I locked a target that I had previously interrogated and on my SA page showed as hostile, but on my HUD, until I put the contact in the center, it showed as a square. Pressing interrogate with a hostile contact locked up and showing as friendly did nothing.
  21. I know what you’re talking about, and I find it annoying, although only in a couple modules. Specifically, it’s very noticeable in the Su-25T when you overspeed. Instead of shaking the cockpit and keeping your view stable relative to the world, such as we’ve seen in the tomcat, and other modules like the F-5 and MiG-21, it shakes your actual viewpoint. It’s incredibly annoying, especially in VR, and you can’t read or focus on anything. The F-15’s viewpoint does also seem much more “loose” than in other planes, when you roll hard your head wobbles all over the place even with “Head movement from G Forces” disabled in the settings.
  22. External tanks are definitely refueled in AAR (infact they are refueled at the same time as internal, you can see this with the fuel page), and you can pretty much leave everything in auto/norm, the plane should handle everything. Dunno about engine start, though I assume it involves starting with internal fuel, and then pumping ET fuel to the internal tanks, just like how it works the rest of the time. ORIDE afaik is a setting that either forces them on or off, probably off (don’t take my word on that)
  23. As far as I could tell, standby means ready but inactive, once you select the missile, it should take one out of standby and let you target
  24. Nah. First came the AIM-9L, after which the seeker was added to the AIM-9P3 making it the AIM-9P4. The P5 just added better CCM systems. AFAIK the AIM-9P5 was mostly intended to be an export version of the sidewinder, but the US used it too.
  25. Hello all, I today went on the Polychop discord with several questions to ask, since I know a lot of people with questions about the module (mostly possible bugs/inaccuracies) that they pretty widely regard as broken. Here is a transcript of the questions I asked and the responses from PolyChop Sven. I thought I'd share this here since I see lots of these same kind of questions asked all over the place, such as other discords and even here on the forums, and these provide (some) answers. Note that this isn't trying to bring attention to the bugs or question responses, it's just so people can see the questions and they don't have to write out the answers again, and I think most of the answers are pretty clear and sufficient. Back to retreating blade stall, I was wondering about gyroscopic procession since I've seen multiple physics videos about how retreating blade stall by itself is a self correcting situation (the loss of lift takes effect 90 degrees from the stall which would be the rear, meaning the helo pitches back and loses speed until the retreating blades cease to stall): Back to VRS: Later on talking to someone else: I hope this helps people with questions about the gazelle in these areas and thanks to Sven for being willing to help me out and answer all my questions!
