Talking about balancing, the fa18 (and f-16) are much more capable planes with next generation avionics. The top players are often fa18 for exemple. It's sometimes hard with the f14 withing 25nm because the radar struggle to lock and have an iff is a nightmare. Hopefully de have the TV camera but de need to get 8nm from enmy to iff visually. That is why I rather have 2 mk60 than 4 mk47. (Also that is an other topic but I Wonder which team will get the oh58D kiowa :D)

The smarter move would be to release it nearly finish, but still in early access (to get the bugs) Or say what will be included at day 1 EA and what will be available next. if they need money they can start the pre-sell 1 or 2 month before the relase of EA.

Here is my assumption of why they release the F-16 with no domage model/IFF (witch is the 2 main complain): 1/ They need money: obviously they need money because it's a company with 100+ people to pay every month. Because there is no paid subscription they need to make money in order to keep runing. 2/ Maybe they need extra money to pay something (tax, unexpected stuff). 3/ They want to release the F-16 before the JF-17 with is a similar aircraft (so they people buy the viper first). But we are not ED and these are just assumption. Maybe we will have an explanation some day, for now, let's enjoy the viper in SP mission ;)
