For the last 3-4 days, whilst playing offline, upon start-up I've been getting messages asking me to input serial codes for F-15, which is part of FC3, which I have had successfully installed for a very long time. Also got same on another build for another aircraft which was previously bought and paid for and previously OK. I just click cancel and the aircraft work anyway?

Hi Tumbler, thank didn't work but it did lead me to looking into it further and finding the solution. So, my sincere thanks for taking the time to respond. I used some lateral thinking i.e. my other full version install v2.5.5 was working as it should, so I copied over the Saved Games>Options.LUA to the same location within the OpenBeta version and it worked. So, all sorted, thanks again for taking an interest. Mike

Hi, I am unable to take screenshots at present as default key binding for screenshots is SysRqs(?) which is not an option on my reduced keyboard. I have gone into key assignments in at attempt to assign either a different key or a controller button but it will not let me, I double click upon the default keyboard assignment and nothing happens i.e. normal sub-assignment menu doesn't appear. So, I am unable to assign an alternative. Can anybody advise how I navigate around this issue please? Thanks in advance Mike P

Hi there, have had 2.5.3, 2.5.4 & 2.5.5 installed and running in 3-screen mode for a long while now. I have, however, recently attempted to install the 2.5.6 Open Beta but when it starts up it does so with a truncated view which does not show or allow me to enter into the settings menu to setup my screens. Can anybody help me with how I get around this please and perhaps tell me why this is happening? Getting a normal start-up screen would be great as I can setups screens myself from there but f not possible what file do I edit please. Thanks in advance guys Mike P

Having taken a break from DCS for a month or so and having left it all working well, I have returned to find that my Eisenhower and G. Bush CAG's have gone stealthy i.e. they are invisible. You can see the carriers wake but nothing else. Flying on the deck through where the carrier should be, also produced no collision, so definitely only the wake there. I have regressed to earlier DCS installations with no improvement and I have re-installed the G. Bush CAG but problem remains. This is occurring on the latest full release, the previous and v2.5.3, all of which were working fine before my little break. Can anybody shed any light on the matter please? Thanks in advance. Definitely the Huey, once mastered you can then fly them all. VRS too much on Mi-8 you need to learn how to avoid it on the Huey first as easier to recover.

I use bendy MDF for glair shields etc

It’s very early days for the AV-8 but I’ve built many different simpits in the past both fast jet and heavies but all in conjunction with FSX. So, this will be my first DCS related build. Also it is termed as applying up or positive collective, which, as you correctly say increases th pitch of the rotors and with increased power manual or auto creates increased upwards lift.

Hi there yes I will try' firstly you need to assign trim function to you joystick, I am away on hols right now so can't check exact setting but from memory whist on the ground press escape and the go to settings at top of menu select search then in box type trim. I believed from memory with K50 there with be only two pitch trim setting but others will no doubt confirm being aurora trim and trim off perhaps. So you set those and then when you initially hover 10ft or so just play with collective to steady her an then close click auto-trim once it should now hold that pitch it not correct do it again until you are happy. After a while you will automatically put the stick in the right place the click the a/trim and think no more of it. Same in real helps I have flown just practice. Hope this helps.

I used to have a 50% share in one of the best maintained airframes in the country until I sold out my share to my best mate but still have access to it and the cockpit. She’s a lovely T5 so if anybody want access for a DCS build just drop me a line. Love the Aerosoft FSX version. Also I have a friend who performs fast taxi runs in F6 at Bruntingthorpe who I am love love to assist. Any interest let me know. They are an iconic aircraft so It would indeed be a great addition to DCS.

Go for the GR4 update then and get auto sweep. Better than ADV for DCS as more weaponry to cause havoc with.

I did so using the DCS Utility GUI and performed the Advance Update role back to version you initially rolled back to and all is now good in my World again. So, time to get some flying in before my weeks cold Turkey or should I say Hot Greece away from the sim. As you stated that the second update worked for you diskwalker, I will attempt update again once I get back from my hols and if same happens I am now confident that I can put things right again. HI Rudel, OK, so I renamed my Saved Games DCS folder as you said and it didn't work. What happens is that when I start the game now I get the initial DCS screen then I get a window with DCS in the top header bar and the rest of it completely black, even left overnight. Tried roots etc nothing worked. So renamed my original back and back to same situation i.e. handing at the Terrain Graphics Init : 97 caucasus.ng5 point. I appreciate what you are saying that rolling back won't resolve the issue and to ever upgrade again I assume I will have to bite the bullet and fix this, however, I go on holiday in 3 days and right not I just want some playtime before I have to go cold turkey for a week. So, for now, can you please just adviser how I roll back as everything was perfect before I accepted the update. Also, I don't think I am on an openbeta but latest full version and now with problem showing 2.5.5. Your assistance in rolling back, for now, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Mike

Hi Guys, I am quite new to this and left FSX for DCS as it was always having technical issues. To date DCS has been stable and great for me and only once previously have I ever had to use the DCS GUI Utility to repair it, successfully, until today. To be clear having read other threads DCS is not crashing just hanging at the 97 Caucasus.ng5 map as per other user quote below. I see others have experienced the exact same as me but I don't see anybody responding with a solution, I have the exact same issue as user REM27 as follows: Just update my Open beta and my screen freez when loading a misson at the point of: Terrain Graphics Init : 97 caucasus.ng5 I ran the GUI repair utility, it states all is repaired but exact same thing happens and I really wish I'd kept ignoring that update prompt as I had been for a couple of weeks or so. Ran it and, what can I say, completely ruined my evening. How can this be fixed please or how can I roll back I am on 2.5.??? and updated to latest. Thanks in advance. Mike P Callsign: Zippy PS: I note user Diskwalker appears to have resolved the issue by rolling back to 2.5.4.30386 which solved map initialization crash, can anyone advise how I do this please?

Hi, I had WWII Assets installed and working great but then something corrupted so I want to reinstall it. As the install manager believes it to be installed OK it won't let me reinstall. Being relativelynew to DCS architecture how does one re-set instsall manage to allow this to be done please? I've lost most if not all of my assets and Missions I made using it won't run now as they are looking for WWII Assets. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
