  1. "so we could maybe get a d tomcat"... Flight simming turns people into monsters, it seems. (I'm not saying I'm any different)
  2. I just described an option I'd like to have. This would allow me to refuel during longer missions without getting frustrated. Before somebody says "git gud" I want to say that I don't have a lot of free time to practice AAR because there's job, family, exercise, etc. and spending hours learning to refuel for refueling's sake is just plain boring to me.
  3. I think a good compromise would be juest to adjust the fuel flow rate, so that you'd at least have to make contact and be fully refueled after a few seconds, but as we know... won't happen.
  4. Just give me the Sparrowhawk HUD already!
  5. (Heart) breaking news for some
  6. So it actually happened or is it disinformation? Wikipedia: "On the MiG-27 "Flogger" the GSh-6-30 had to be mounted obliquely to absorb recoil. The gun was noted for its high (often uncomfortable) vibration and extreme noise. The airframe vibration led to fatigue cracks in fuel tanks, numerous radio and avionics failures, the necessity of using runways with floodlights for night flights (as the landing lights would often be destroyed), tearing or jamming of the forward landing gear doors (leading to at least three crash landings), cracking of the reflector gunsight, an accidental jettisoning of the cockpit canopy and at least one case of the instrument panel falling off in flight. The weapons also dealt extensive collateral damage, as the sheer numbers of fragments from detonating shells was sufficient to damage aircraft flying within a 200-meter radius from the impact center, including the aircraft firing." I understand that it might apply to the earlier versions of the aircraft/cannon, but it was still a problem.
  7. Why, don't you want to brrrrt? Or trrrryk?
  8. Will plane desintegration when firing the cannon be simulated? See:
  9. How much playtime with Svetlana can you get for 56 dollars? An hour?
  10. Yeah, the Phantom is an interesting module, challenging as well. I'm just learning to fly it, don't have much time, but I'll play a bit with the Shrikes as well.
  11. In the context of the recent India-Pakistan "tensions" I was looking for some info and found an interesting article: https://secondtonone.com.pk/2024/06/05/a-kill-without-a-price/
  12. Well, I guess as a workaround I'll carry a Shrike to get the tone, and the rest of the missiles will be HARMs
  13. I see. Thanks, good to know. So, now please add the tone to HARMs and the matter is settled
  14. I installed the mod a few days ago, but tried HARMs only yesterday, never got the tone. The video I mentioned is this one:
  15. I see, thanks for the explanation. So it seems it used to work better, now there's no tone. The missile still destroys radars, but has to be fired kind of blind. Too bad.
  16. I don't remember where I downloaded it from, but somebody mentioned that it was provided by Heatblur. Anyway, there's a video by Growling Sidewinder in which he uses HARMs and gets a good tone with no problems. But it was published almost a year ago, so maybe something has changed since then.
  17. All right, so I set up a simple Wild Weasel mission against an SA-2. I carried both HARMs and Shrikes. When I was flying towards the radar and armed Shrikes, I could hear the high-pitched tone, but when I armed HARMs, the tone was gone. I use the "official" (I guess it was made available by Heatblur) F-4E.lue file in the F-4E Entry folder. Am I doing something wrong?
  18. I think we need better DCS AI for these campaigns to make sense in Single Player.
  19. Oh, I forgot to mention the almighty Dynamic Campaign! Of course I'm kidding.
  20. I hope this feature is still WIP and as Colonels, we'll get better planes, graphics and performance!
  21. Come on, does it even matter? (I'm a "colonel" BTW). With every promotion, we should get a module for free!
  22. They're playing big!
  23. I guess that's why somebody called a carrier "a self-licking ice cream cone"
  24. Yeah, and I don't even fly the Tomcat but Phantom, whose radar is... not so good Maybe it's a maintenance problem? Do a slow repair
  25. No problem.
