DML - Mission Creation Toolbox [no Lua required]

Have you tried loading sounds as sound to country and choosing a country which is not a coalition being used in the mission when loading files? -
Now that we have the excellent massun92 assets I spent some time laying down hesco perimeters to a FOB static template on the Afghanistan map. Just placing the perimeter without anything else took hours and I had to keep jumping into the mission to check placement. In the end I didn't use it because of the fps hit. The only arial picture I have of FOB Price shows it was a very large base. Even the unit count option in the statics page doesn't seem to work for anything except FARPs. It's not available to most assets and if it did it would place them with a fair distance between units. I have begun using the excellent templates others are adding to the user downloads but we are all in the same boat when we are trying to add life to our missions. What would be perfect is the ability to lay them down according to a drawn line. I realise people have created scripts and hacks to do this but not everyone is comfortable with scripts. As a compromise could more templates be added for groups. Maybe patrol groups, sections etc and for more countries than just USA and Russia. Anything to speed up mission creation. Are there any plans to add FOBs to the Afghanistan map based on dates in the future? I think there would be far more user missions created if the editor was more friendly for placing groups. Our fantastic campaign creators are having to plan a years+ amount of work to create saleable campaigns. Finally can afghanistan be added to the countries list and more countries have their infantry units represented (camouflage patterns).

I really wish ED would include you in their discussions along with the other script developers. DML is such a brilliant kit. It's such a shame a patch has caused so many issues for script/mod developers. @cfrag we appreciate all your efforts. -
fixed Bug - Authorization Failed - DLCs disabled Afghanistan and Normandy
Iceviper replied to oCMANo's topic in General Bugs
I only use Windows AV, my folders are already added to the exceptions lists. I've tried a few repairs. I also tried turning off the few FC3 aircraft I have and a few mods. It hasn't worked so I submitted a support ticket. They confirmed on Discord that they were aware of the problem. It's really frustrating as I've been building a template for hours on Afghanistan. These last two patches seem to have introduced loads of issues. -

Same here and I've been flying it for the past 3 hours. I restarted DCS to sort my TrackIr and suddenly Afghanistan disabled not authorised. I'm in the middle of building a large static template. I don't own FC£/4. I do have a couple of FC3 aircraft. -

Have a look at this thread. You can use cockpit param equal to, to capture the frequency and then trigger actions to play a radio transmission or fire a flag, create a menu or whatever. Im pretty sure that with a combination of triggers you can also determine which button was used to tune which radio, it's been a while since I did it. Your solution would be more elegant but it is possible to do it now. Hooe this helps until a better solution is implemented.

Just as the title says it would be great to be able to insert a sound files to the briefing page. A play button would allow the player to decide if they want to hear the file or not. Some of the campaigns have very long back story intros (setting the scene) and whilst I appreciate the time designers put into this, some of them are massive. I'd like to be able to listen to them rather than read them. That way I can have the option to read the mission activity brief and listen to the back story.

Sorry don't have a track. Is INS gnd alignment broken? Tried to align last night. EHSD>DATA>AC but odu stays dark so unable to select position. Flipped it to IFA and it lit up and allowed coordinates but didn't start alignment however after a few minutes route showed. Guessing its a bug and hopefully can be looked at when things with Razbam go back to normal. I have the option set to require alignment so its not a settings issue.

DML - Mission Creation Toolbox [no Lua required]

Quick question. I'm using valet zones on a mission to play a sound when the player passes through them. The zones work fine for me but when I'm hosting to play with a couple of mates they don't get the sounds. Eg have a small zone in front of aircraft that play a 'squid 1, rolling' sound. I get mine but they don't get theirs despite the zones being set for their units. Is this a multilayer thing, is valet only designed to play sounds to player aircraft rather than client? Is it something I've done wrong? I have other zones and again working fine for me but not them. Any ideas? -

Yeah that's the way I usually do it. Tbf there are only ever three of us flying in the missiin so it's not a huge issue for take of actions or hard decks. There are other functions in DML that are a God send. I just wanted to clarify what was available in DML. DML so far is playing very nicely alongside other traditional methods and scripts although I did have an issue with MOOSE atis and I'm not sure that is a dml thing. I'll need to double check. -

Thank you for the quick reply. I'm only just dipping my toes into DML and it's very impressive so thank you for creating such a great system. The manual is substantial and I am busy working my way through it, I just wanted to check if the things I mentioned where available in some way. I can continue to do it the way I've done it in the past and DML still helps to vastly speed up my mission creation. Thanks. -

Is it possible, and if so which modules should I be looking at, to monitor in game events and output a sound file based on a clients agl. Scenarios I'm thinking of player x has taken off and once height above x feet a soundfile for wheels up or creating a hard deck for acm, player x has gone below x feet and sound file for knock it off. I'm also thinking about other events such as hit, shot etc. Can they be monitored and utilised?. Thanks in advance.
