Is your INS aligned and set to nav? I had an incident with autopilot last night when during a flight I forgot that INS is now modelled and i never let it alogn. So when I set Balt AP, it continually was climbing right out of autopilot. Honestly not sure if autopilot depends on INS but I would assume so.

Sounds like you've answered your own question
-
It does have a very very small amount right now but if you watch some videos of F18s pulling Gs, the cockpit gets shaking pretty good. I do agree f14 overdid it a little but I think the sounds/shaking add a ton of feel to it.
-
I think it would be really cool if ED modelled in some cockpit shaking when you're pulling G's like in the F14. Maybe not as aggresive as it is on the F14 since hornet has FCS but a little would be a nice touch.
-
That would be interesting! However I don't believe it is planned.

Just to clarify Danny, Ive been well aware the plan has been for the HARM engineer to then go to TGP. I feel my question and point was pretty straight forward. I didnt ask when it was coming, I asked for clarification on reasons for going Litening first...
-
Would make alot of sense if what you guys are saying is right. I suppose if it really is mostly a cut and paste deal from the A10-C then it would save alot of time. I think it's a pretty reasonable question to ask about. Thank you for you're constructive input on the matter though

I understand that it has been stated wags. I should rephrase my question to why? I understand the answer will probably be that it is to get us a TGP faster. But honestly how different is the ATFLIR from Litening? I dont see how modeling a different version of a TGP saving a significant amount of time over another. And if that is the case. I for one would vote not to waste time on a quick substitute versus getting started on the actual pod the Navy used. Maybe thats just me though?
-
So over the past few OB updates I've noticed the Litening pod has been pushed back a bit it seems. My question is, are we just going to be getting ATFLIR first now? After HARM is complete we really just need things like JSOWs, Harpoons, AG radar/AA radar modes and Tpod. I've been very happy with the rate of updates for the Hornet lately. But what's the point of putting off ATFLIR for litening when there honestly isn't much left systems wise.

Are you trimming to on speed?

Thats great but does not explain why my thread was moved to "Wish List" for a feauture that according to you will be added. Pretty non sense if you ask me...
-
Also not sure how this is a "wish list". It was a question about the features of the Hornet ED is currently selling... Where in my statement did i state I hope or want them to include FD mode?!
-
Im assuming since this was moved to wish list it is not going to be modeled? Not sure how this isnt considered a Hornet relevant question...
-
Does anyone know if this is specific to the Superhornet or if legacy hornets had this feature as well? "Flight Director (FD) Mode - Functions similarly to AUTO mode, but allows the autopilot to couple to the required bank angle necessary to fly through the ASL. In addition, it provides steering to establish the aircraft on a preselected course prior to first weapon release and maintains the selected course throughout the weapon release sequence. It computes the same weapon delivery solutions as the AUTO mode"

Link 16 is a sort of datalink where you and other aircraft/awacs/ground forces share a sort of digital representation of whats going on around you(enemies, ground target, friendlies, ect)
-
Link 16 and SA will for sure be game changers.

Would be nice to get a look

I understand that we are waiting for the FLIR overhaul for DCS before we will see the ATLFIR for the F18. After many months of the general response "Its in the works" was hoping maybe Wags or ED would enlighten us with a bit more detail? Kind of like in the mini updates maybe get a glimpse into what's actually being worked on. (screenshots, more info,) This maybe a farcry but thought it was worth asking. In my opinion this is the single biggest update the Hornet is waiting on to really make our bird a true strike aircraft. On a side note, I am not all trying to whine or complain about release times. I fully understand this is a ways off. Just wish we had some more insight on the new system is all.

The difference about the gbu-24 laser guided bomb?
Nospin44 replied to kaoqumba's topic in Military and Aviation
From wiki "Compared to the GBU-10 family, or the Paveway II family, the GBU-24 glides farther as a result of more efficient guidance technology" -
"Situational" Sorry I had to.

I too would like an option to adjust JHMCS offset. Doesnt feel comfortable for me at most angles. I also wish it was more zoomed in by default (aka bigger circle) I seem to have to zoom in to really read any of the tapes yet doing that im then too close to everything else in the cockpit.
-
Not yet. TWS is still in the works for now.

I'm not talking about DCS info. I meant real data on the AGM-65G all seems to state the f16/ airforce used it. Cannot find any form of data stating the Navy used the G version.
-
I'm also curious about this. All info I have found on the G model seems to point toward F16s. I'm assuming ED just has info from sources we don't?
