+1 , Agreed Even though I know most US weapons from memory, historical and some Russian stuff I am not as well versed on so this could be very helpful.

AGM-45 / AGM-122 custom weapons load out for F-5E
Bad_Karma-701 replied to Bad_Karma-701's topic in How To Mod for DCS World
it should be able to fire the sidearm its a radar seeking sidewinder.. using the seeker and fire.. the avionics are the same for the sidewinder irrespective to the model. "The Sidewinder was also the basis for the AGM-122A Sidearm anti-radiation missile utilizing an AIM-9C guidance section modified to detect and track a radiating ground-based air defense system radar. The target-detecting device is modified for air-to-surface use, employing forward hemisphere acquisition capability." -
Im setting up a personal mission to fly with friends Mercs with the F-5E / mirage kinda like the private company TacAir and would like to figure out how to get a couple things working if possible AGM-122 Sidearm on outboard station Gun pods either the L-39ZA or the Mig-21's if at all possible. I found the weapons in the LUA but getting them to show up in the loadout for the F-5 is another thing. any insight or help greatly appreciated thanks..

I really hope HB's, F-14 hits the fleet before the F/A-18

F-5E Armament Upgrade Mod
Bad_Karma-701 replied to Hook47's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I know the thread is old but i dont see any info showing if you. Were you ever able to get the Outboard station to display and use A2A correctly ? havent found any info in dcs showing it working or if someone else did thanks. -
It would be Nice if we Could get the F-5E upgraded to the Chilean version the F-5E III id love to try to A2A refuel in this little fighter. Or they could go the Private route as american contractors fly the adversary / aggressor role. TacAir F-5s are upgraded with HUD/HOTAS, open architecture mission computers and tailored Operational Flight Programs that enable integration of advanced radar systems, IRST [infrared Search and Track], EA [Electronic Attack], RWR [Radar Warning Receiver], datalinks, and HOBS weapons employment. The main upgrade that would make these aircraft able to perform 4th generation fighter threat replication would be the inclusion of a modern radar system. TacAir's website associates their aircraft with both the Grifo-200 and APG-66 pulse doppler radars, although it is unclear if these sets have actually replaced the AN/APG-153/159 radars originally installed in most F-5s or if new radar systems like the ones mentioned will be integrated into their F-5 fleet if the company wins a major adversary support contract. The company's ex-Jordanian F-5E/Fs have been totally refreshed by Northrop Grumman. Other radar options for the F-5 exist as well, such as Israel's modular and highly capable Elta EL/M-2032 radar set.

Does this mean the Mig-21's Tumansky R-25-300 will see some love in the future as well? or other USSR/Russian aircraft.
-
Honestly ID like to see the A-6 A-6E Or they could actually make the proposed F version to save development time since it was going to use the Same radar and F404's without the burners as the F/A-18C. which if I was ED id go that route and use the same assets for the Intruder. the aircraft sits on the deck of the intrepid museum so access to the cockpit is there i would think.

Persian Gulf ground assets?
Bad_Karma-701 replied to Stratos's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Where can i get said Mod... this is awesome!!! -
CFIT yea what I exactly was trying to avoid and it exacerbated in game because your eyes cannot adjust to the lighting. external light sources are too dim in the environment ex stars, moon. even early morning the sun just creeping on the horizon is way to dark in relation to instrument lighting in VR and no way to adjust makes it a pain in the behind. as well as object lighting should have an adjustment. especially since you cant adjust in FC3 aircraft. This really needs to be a thing, and its kinda odd they don't have lighting/ brightness adjustments in the options menu along side the sound.

Yes... Low fast and following the Terrain to mask the strike package ! Exactly, like a Static Object would be great. or If someone is Savy enough one that moves and sets up and preps for launch, you could have a unit that moves to a waypoint "to get into range" and then a "timer" starts for launch setup, fueling, etc. it then launches and you have a "AceC" type event where you have a minimal time to blast it out the sky before is disappears which btw is the least favorable type of scenario. or it launches and you have a mission failed missile launch detected. they could also drastically cut its range and use it like a artillery pieces already in the game. ex GRAD, m270. but with a larger damage radius in regards to effectiveness. either way it stinks that its missing and fingers crossed they add one of the systems or all of them:D but if i had to choose the most well known is the SCUD 300 km (190 mi) is the Scud B's range the R-17 (SS-1C Scud-B), renamed R-300 in the 1970s, was the most prolific of the series, with a production run estimated at 7,000. It served in 32 countries and four countries besides the Soviet Union. and the Caucasus map is i believe 400km x 400km so if they cut the range in half it would be perfect.

its really not as there is aircraft that can already fit that role "TF-51" and with the YAK coming out its covered. honestly i dont think there will ever truely be a place for unarmed aircraft In dcs you also have to take in consideration who ED/FC's main customers are look at the TBS page and you can see where the revenue is Everything In DCS correlates to Products offered in TBS and vis versa. whats created here is used there and whats created there is used here. Now if you tweak your request from unarmed civilian trainers to Light attack / Trainers you have something as even the large air forces are starting to notice the usefulness and cost effectiveness of low and slow turboprops. Ex. AT-6B Wolverine, A-29 Super Tacano. As well as being an initial trainer,:pilotfly: the multi role AT-6, and A-29 are capable of performing missions including: light attack, combat search and rescue (CSAR), close air support, forward air control and convoy escort, homeland defense (border security), port security, counter-narcotics operations and civil missions such as disaster area reconnaissance, search and rescue and firefighting. combined with long loiter time as compared to turbine powered aircraft at a low cost per flight hr. they can be armed w 50. cals, mini guns, lazer guided rockets, smart or dummy bombs, AIM-9, AGM-65, AGM-114 or other weapon systems based on avionics fitted western or others. and as I mentioned before the A-29 is already on the road map so only additional craft to add for more flavor and near the A-29 performance is the wolverine with a basic flight campaign and a COIN campaign tied to the NTTR map your covered and that map would then fit really well with the aircraft since the name implies :smartass: Training. and for mission planners you have a perfect mix for High/ Low fixed wing attack. with the addition of light attack turbo- prop without using rotary wing

Syrian and Afghan theatre of operations confirmed!
Bad_Karma-701 replied to WHOGX5's topic in Bugs and Problems
"New theaters in development: Syria, Crimea, and Afghanistan" The current theaters included in TBS are the Caucasus region, the Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR), and the Strait of Hormuz region. As we develop additional theaters such as Afghanistan and the Ukraine/Crimea, we continue to update and add to these current theaters (such as the National Training Center). Other aircraft are in development such as the F-16, F/A-18, and AH-64. - Quotes from TBS page Hells yea.. TBS/DCS in 2018-2019 is going to be alot of fun. -
Agreed... ED, I think could Release a MIG-29SMT or MIG-29UPG on the same quality of the F/A-18C there is a few Ex Moldovan Migs on display In the US, as well as in the Ukraine and India. with documentation available they could have a Russian fighter in game on Par with the harrier, M2K,and Hornet.

Its separate from the FC3. I've ramp'd up the gamma as a work around not perfect but at least gets me through it I am taking a guess that its a unforeseen issue with the 2.5 beta.
-
Sorry meant if ?? Not many major theaters concerning air battles comes to mind except Crimea and its a shame if they didn't use the caucuses map and extend it to Crimea there was many battles fought there and I swore I read somewhere that it used to be on the map back in lock on days but was removed. so they have some framework already in place so I would think it would make the most business sense to use a map already in place with tweaks similar to them updating the map to 2.5 It also seems Logical to focus on the battle of Sevastopol or the fighting around Crimea in 1944 but that would also mean we would need a Soviet Fighter on equal footing like the La-5 or La7. and AI like the Stuka and Sturmkovik. But thats if they want to do a Russian theme they still have the Iconic battle of Britain, North Africa theater or Numerous battles in the Pacific they could choose from. But it would be a shame from a western stand point not to do a Soviet based theater since we don't see that side of the war too much being over shadowed by the rest. But again we would also need a Premier soviet fighter to go along with it. :pilotfly:
-
Problem is the Baltic dragon campaign mission starts at 0430 :pilotfly: so I've cranked the gamma for a interm solution. which sucks it should be dark but damn it would be nice to tweak the lighting settings cockpit is just a little too bright and ambient lighting just a little too dark. the fact that its soo close that its annoying. that and the lack of NVG's.

2.5 and GTX970, how does it run?
Bad_Karma-701 replied to OnlyforDCS's topic in Game Performance Bugs
4790k, 12GB RAM GTX970 Rift CV1. Here... Getting 45-55 FPS consistently. so not horrible but nothing spectacular.. -
Trying to fly at night is nearly impossible in the F-15c The cockpit lighting nearly washes out everything else and the terrain and horizon are nearly non existent anyone know how to turn down the brightness of the cockpit and or turn up the brightness of map ? this is horrendous like flying into a black wall in 2.5 unlike 1.5 which was manageable:cry: but dark.

Anyone know if the Russian WW2 map is going to be based there. cant find any info and I mean it would make the most sense. Battle of Sevastopol and all the fierce fighting that happened there and the terrain being similar to the Caucasus map. I see and easy pipeline after soviet fighters being released having aces in the skies battling it out matching with records showing the historical counterparts were for the most part evenly matched in skill especially JG77 and 6th guards naval aviation. I think it would be a great Eastern battle field for the WW2 players.
