  1. I think your name says it all !
  2. I get your point. That's why the P51 no longer defends the nation. Useless in combat now. My point made.
  3. Flew first combat cluster ... in the F-5E-3 last night. The aircraft had no power, maneuverability, or situational awareness. Weapons went dry fast. The F5's were cannon fodder. Since then, I have learned a few things that may help next time out. ____________________________________ I wish the F-5E-3 could be retrofitted it with a few modern electronics, but I realize that will never happen. ________________________________________ I do like flying it though. And yes, thanks to a suggestion, learned how to squeeze more horsepower out of the old bird.

    DCS: F-5E!

Yes, have managed several carrier landings in the F-5E II...busted nose gear, bend main gear, popped right tire. More practice is needed.
  5. OK then, does anyone know if the map (F10) can be put in a box that can be activated by the kneeboard. I know a moving map is not realistic for the 60's, but come on, even the old F-15s are being outfitted with the LATEST armament and navigation technology. The F5 is wiry to fly, and with no autopilot, every time you go off visual with Map F10, your navigation goes to pot.
  6. Can anyone tell me if the DCS: NS 430 moving map navigation system module is compatible with the F-5E II ?
  7. Thank you Rudel
  8. I recently downloaded a skin and installed it according to directions. Can anyone tell me where in DCS I can change to that skin? Thanks.
  9. Finally got this to work by putting the files in this path: C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\DCS\Kneeboard\F-5E-3 Must be in the airplane. RShift + K [ or ] to scroll through Have fun.
  10. I really do not understand what happened. I went back into PayPal and the error has been corrected. This might have been user error. I thank you all for your assistance. All is well now.
  11. I have A-10C that works fine - both throttles. Just purchased F-15C. Cannot get right engine to respond - at all - keyboard commands or joystick. Any help would be appreciated, but I suspect it is in the F-15C's code.
  12. Just bought this model recently. One small glitch, now corrected. Looking forward to flying it.
  13. I moved from steam VR to NON STEAM VR, because you have to wait longer for aircraft to come out in steam (pre-purchased F/A 18C non steam for VR setup) only to find with F-15C that DCS (non steam) CRASHES in VR 100% of the time. Removed open alpha 2.2 and installed 1.5. DCS non steam VR now works without crashing. Will my pre-ordered FA 18C work with 1.5? or better yet, will my VR work with 2.5?
  14. Deleted. Found my own answer
  15. At checkout it said I could use 15 of my current 16 bonus dollars for the purchase making it a total of $34.99. After paypal checkout, the receipt showed 49.99 not 34.99. Please assist with reducing this back to $34.99 for me please. Let me know if you need further info do do this. Thank you.
  16. Fred00, I know what you mean. That is why I moved from the 777 to the A-10C. Both realistic models, but the air combat gives an extra depth to it. I just wish all the model makers would get over the obsession with ancient war birds. Even the A-10 is over 40 YEARS OLD. The F18 is OVER 39 YEARS OLD. I have not seen a realistic F22 or F35 modeled. Just game replicas. There....I feel much better now.... LOL.
  17. nikitatattoo, I have 9000+ hours in the real military, high altitude, jet. You will not learn easily by jumping into a complex jet, if the jet is simulated correctly. Go to Microsoft Flight Simulator - FSX - there is a learn to fly section on this. It is very good for understanding the basics of flight. Choose the C150 or C172 after some practice. If more were to do this, there would be fewer performance, stall, etc questions I would think. Remember flying is about eye / hand coordination with the brain. You have to first put the information (book reading / theory ) into your brain - THEN go to the aircraft and practice. Otherwise you are just playing a game, guessing, and hoping for the right outcome. Some have done this in the real jet, and died... Good luck to you.
