Was discussing with a friend this morning, as we haven't figured out a good use for the CAS page. You can drop markpoints on a map, across multiple jets, and import them, but there is no way to differentiate one point from another on the CAS page other than the time stamp that it was added to F10 map. You can't see targets on the F10 map unless this is mission enabled, which it almost never is You can't import coordinates into the F10 map from a TPOD or DMT point, nor can you type coords into the CAS page. So you've gotta find the target on the ground using TPOD or DMT, then write those coords down, then go to F10 and slew around until you find those coords, and drop a mark there. Am I missing something here, or is more functionality planned? It would be great to be able to import a Tpod or DMT target, or just type coords into the CAS page to be shared among the flight.

Not true. Never was true.

I can't believe this is still a bug on an aircraft that's primary mission involves launch from an LHA. tried tonight to get in a jet 30 times while 2 other flights on a CV waited so we could all make TOT. I finally gave up. It's ridiculous that this hasn't been fixed yet. If it happened on the F18 or F14 there would have been a hot fix in 2 days.
-
So obviously there is no advanced option to change WPs for ships. Any scripting to implement this? I'm trying to create a radio command that can slow down the CV to 5 kts during flight ops, then speed it back up to 25 kts for recovery. Ideas? TIA

JTF-1 has been running campaign missions every Sunday night, around 3 hours long. Seems that about halfway through the TACANs shut down. I did put multiple WPs resetting it, but it didn't work. I'll test later, but could I just create triggered action to start the TACAN, then set it to loop using "time more" and flags?

Request: Please add a FARP trigger zone in ME
moespeeds replied to Warmbrak's topic in Mission Editor
This would be great! -
Great group of guys, like I said. Fly any airframe you want, you are just limited to your squad aircraft on training and mission nights. We have a couple of training servers, so you always have guys to fly with. I think it's almost as much a social club as it is a squadron. The people are what make it great.

Joint Task Force 1. A combined group of Naval and AF squads that train together. We maintain a few servers, and train together as a group. This allows us to build and run campaigns that use multiple airframes. Last Sunday we had 51 guys working together in a single mission. Here's our discord: https://discord.gg/2mn3296

So what's a good resolution in steam vr settings to use? Then from there just adjust dcs pd to get acceptable performance?
-
Yeah with your settings, and my slider at 50%, I get 2264x1860. Changing that number in profile.json has zero effect.
-
One of our guys was a maintainer out in Yuma, we have 5 USMC vets in the squad currently. We aren't rigid about attendance, but we do ask that you attend regularly to stay current. There is no mandatory or minimum requirement. We would like to see one night a week, but we understand that real life does get in the way. Sunday night we do some sort of mission or campaign, and Tuesdays are for training. Here's a video of our campaign mission today, I got hammered by an SA15...

There is no "override" box, only "Enable Custom Resolution", which you have to have checked in order to adjust the slider. I do not use the Steam version of DCS either, you have to have DCS running in order to make adjustments to DCS in the "Applications" tab. If DCS is not running, it will not show. I have the correct profile.json, but editing it no longer seems to have any effect. When did you last try this? If it's recent, can you post the exact contents of your file? @Haukka81 so the Steam VR sliders no longer have any effect? Because increasing them definitely increases in-game resolution with a corresponding drop in frame rate. My mission here is to get to a native Pimax 5K resolution. I used to have this working, but after taking 3 months off from the 5K I can't seem to get it working again...

Ok so no matter what I set in my profile.json, it has no effect on the Steam VR resolution slider. Also, do I want to adjust the steam VR DCS settings, or the "Video" settings, or both? Below is my profile.json, read only. Tried -2.32 all the way up to 4.5, all the way down to -4.5, no effect on the steam VR slider? { "Pimax P2 5K Formal" : { "color_brightness_0_rgb" : { "x" : 0.01999999955296516, "y" : 0.01999999955296516, "z" : 0.01999999955296516 }, "color_brightness_1_rgb" : { "x" : 0.01999999955296516, "y" : 0.01999999955296516, "z" : 0.01999999955296516 }, "lens_separation" : 0.09180799871683121 }, "FOV_outer_adjust_degree" : 4.5, "dbg_asw_enable" : 0, "dbg_hidden_area_enable" : 0, "enable_pvr_home" : 0, "ipd" : 0.06584677845239639, "pixels_per_display_pixel_rate" : 1 }

I tried it, but no effect. Moving pitool render to 1.25 did give me less shimmer, but with what I think is "tearing"? If I move my head quickly, I get some stutter, and black artifacts on the edges of my vision. I use the same scene to test, takeoff from Al Dhafra and fly over the city doing a lot of rolls and such to see how it feels. Frame rate in fraps is high 20s to low 30s, GPU frame times in the low 30s. I did try cranking the brightness up in pitool, then running the gamma in DCS down, and that looks to help with the shimmering effect.

Ok thanks I'll try tonight. My goal here is to get steam vr to the native resolution, which is 2550x1440, then use dcs pd to increase clarity, right?
-
Thank you for your hard work on this, it was badly needed for the pimax. On my 5K+ normal fov I get the cross eyes effect while the num* zoom is "transitioning" from zoomed in or zoomed out. Is this normal? Once fully zoomed in or out is fine, it's only while the view is moving between the two. I have adjusted the convergence as per instructions.

Need some help "Deactivating" an AI CAP flight
moespeeds replied to moespeeds's topic in Mission Editor
Hey guys, sorry forgot to follow up. I deleted the flight and remade it, and it works fine now. -
I'm struggling to get the prescribed settings by -voight- on page 135 of this thread. What am I missing? Pimax 5k Plus Latest beta of PiTool installed as linked a few pages back. 1.0.1.197 Firmware v2.1.255.244 Steam VR 1.8.20 Render set at 1.0 Everything else off Apply/save Open Steam VR, close PiTool Under tab Applications/DCS (DCS running) I see 1432x1176 at 100% Under tab Video I see 1920x1580 at 36%, 3200x2632 at 100% I used to use the profile.json file mod, but now when I open it there's just this in there: (I did read that editing this is no longer needed with the latest Steam VR.) { "Pimax P2 5K Formal" : { "color_brightness_0_rgb" : { "x" : 0.01999999955296516, "y" : 0.01999999955296516, "z" : 0.01999999955296516 }, "color_brightness_1_rgb" : { "x" : 0.01999999955296516, "y" : 0.01999999955296516, "z" : 0.01999999955296516 }, "lens_separation" : 0.085736483335495 }, "dbg_asw_enable" : 0, "dbg_hidden_area_enable" : 0, "enable_pvr_home" : 0, "ipd" : 0.05995561182498932, "pixels_per_display_pixel_rate" : 1 } Any ideas?

As part of a larger CAP scheme, I want the previous CAP flight to deactivate when it goes BINGO and lands. I had this working in the past by doing the following: -CAP flight is activated via a blue unit entering a zone, flag 53 is set to ON -CAP is deactivated when either CAP unit goes slower than 30 kts, and time since Flag is more than 600 sec This no longer works. I set a message to trigger when time since flag 53 = 600 sec to test, and it's not triggering the message, so the issue seems to be "time since flag". I tried this with both "Flag 53 ON" and "Flag 53 increase 1" with no results. Is time since flag just broken now? TIA

Can I put a smoke/fire effect on a moving ship/unit?
moespeeds replied to moespeeds's topic in Mission Editor
That's beat -
Tried "unit inside moving zone" but the smoke stays where I triggered it. Is there any way using ME to make a ship underway smoke/fire using the effect?

Even weight doesn't always slow them down. I recently tested an AI harrier by giving him 4 full tanks. In formation he was able to put climb my clean harrier.
