  1. I looked at the MIST directions, but when I put the group name in the script line I only get "searching for target". If I use all or troop it works fine, but the group name doesn't work. Does this function work?
  2. This worked great, thank you guys!
  3. can you set a flag for whatever function is activated by the zone?
  4. I tested some out yesterday and dropped them on a line of tanks, trucks, and APCs. Looked at the data in TacView and they scored tons of hits, no kills. Not even on the trucks.
  5. I got this working without mods. Not pretty but gets the job done.
  6. I made this work without a mod, but it's not pretty.
  7. I'm building a mission where a convoy of tanks is moving to attack a FARP. Once they are attacked, they stop moving, pull off the road and hunker down. Is there a way to get them to ignore incoming fire and continue moving? TIA
  8. What's the deal with Rockeyes? I could swear when I was in the Marines in the 90s they were dropped on tanks. In DCS they don't seem to be effective against anything but the lightest APCs and such?
  9. I managed to make this work, but it ain't pretty. Basically you need to find a road that is sloping up, and place the farp so that the takeoff direction is towards the upslope. This will minimize the bump as you transition from farp to road. The farp has to block the road, so it's best to find a dead end. Think exclamation point (!) With the "point" being the farp. You start off on the grass portion of the farp and point down the road and floor it. The faster you can go off the transition the better. I'll post pictures tomorrow and sent you the mission file if you'd like.
  10. When I say 'enemy' I mean the opposite coalition. Whatever human units are flying there would get the message. Here's why a trigger zone doesn't work: The helo is enroute to evac the primary target group. I have a trigger zone setup to warn the opposite coalition that there is an evac helo inbound to the primary. If the primary is destroyed before the helo arrives, it switches waypoints and flies to another base. The issue is that a small percentage of the time, it flies through the trigger zone between evading enemy units and such, and triggers a radio message to the opposite coalition that there is a helo inbound to evac the primary, even though the primary has already been destroyed. I'm trying to eliminate the trigger zone, or somehow disable it once the primary is destroyed. Any ideas on how to do this are appreciated.
  11. This seems like it should be simple but I'm having trouble figuring it out. I know I can use a trigger zone, but besides that, how would I trigger a message to the enemy coalition when a vehicle reaches a specific waypoint? TIA!
  12. How did you make out with this? I've built a mission with an E2D AWACS and he isn't automatically calling out bandits. It's working fine if I call him myself, but how can I get it to call pop up groups and such?
  13. I did get it working by changing the file names. Thank you guys. For future reference, what is the audio file trigger? I'm a noob here. Also, any suggestions for a good radio voice sound editor? My radio messages are super cheesy.
  14. I actually did just that. I recorded a whole new file, as an ogg. Went into the mission editor, and deleted the old sound trigger, saved mission, then added the new sound trigger using the ogg file. Still plays a completely unrelated sound file on trigger. This is so frustrating!
  15. Hey guys, I'm having an issue changing audio files within the mission editor. I initally threw in come audio files for radio messages on certain triggers. They all worked fine, but later I went back and made some custom audio files using audacity, in wav format. I went into mission editor and changed the sound files for these triggers, but they wont change in the mission, it still uses the original files. I tried deleting the "play sound to coalition" trigger, saving, exiting DCS, then coming back in and adding the new sound, but it still plays the old sound. I even tried changing the trigger to "play sound to country" but it still plays that original sound. I went into the miz file, and the sound I'm trying to use is correct, and file names all look fine. Do I have to delete the entire trigger event when I change the sound file? Any suggestions?
  16. I too am struggling to get consistent results with JTAC lase. What I'm trying to do is force the JTAC (Humvee TOW) to automatically lase a building for a surgical strike. I created a single infantryman and put him on the roof, then use the 'FAC - Assign Task' command to LASE him. LOS looks good, and gives me no errors, but results seem to be inconsistent. I also would like to add the condition that they would start the LASE 8 min into the mission, but this doesn't seem to have any effect as they immediately start lasing at mission start, or not at all. To solve this I start the jtac unit 8 min into the mission, but like I said results vary from nothing, to having to use the F9 radio menu to start them lasing. Like I said, I want them to automatically lase a specific unit at a specific time. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
  17. Ok so it looks like this issue has been covered in another thread. Turned off deferred shading and it solved the problem. It's too bad because it really makes a difference in the terrain. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=188161&page=4
  18. Just downloaded Red Flag, running DCS 2 alpha/Nevada. Whether I succeed or fail, on the 1st mission debrief, if I move the mouse cursor over any of the buttons along the bottom, DCS crashes. This happens every time. I uninstalled DCS completely, and deleted all folders, then did a fresh download and install, same problem Running in VR (OR) with a Prosimu Motion Rig (Simtools), and the TM HOTAS stick/throttle and CH USB pedals, Windows 10, Pentium i7, 16GB, MSI NVIDIA 1080ti with latest drivers. Any help is appreciated.
