I see they recommend i5 3+ghz cpu my laptop is a i7 not sure of the ghz atm but would I do better with the fastest i5 or a slower i7?

Some squads use SRS while others use UniversRadio plus the later Works with lotatc. What are the differences between the two other than coding. Iirc one tries to resemble real life radio comms I’m not sure if both of them do. What are the major differences between the two apps that work similar?

I would like to see the 476th’s trains setup for my squad which is new ans Small I’m wanting to get them started right. In the real world my. Last military designation was Air Force resource manager. Among the flight records duties, scheduling duties and other squadron tasking I was responsible for tracking the aircrew training. We had a computer system we entered the aircrew tasks in to. How this works was the aircrew filled out a sheet with the training tasks on them they annotated the number of each task the completed during the sortie ie flight. We then put this in to the computer and once a week, month, quarter, semi annual and annual print out a series of reports showing the aircrews recurring training accomplishments. That’s how fmq trains is handled. The other phases are basic and mission qualification. They usually have syllabus and predetermined flights with the tastings laid out . Ok my question. Is how many use the three level/phases of training. For a) new pilots to the unit or 2) new sircraft are accepted to the unit? Do you just fake it. And. Fly gaining experience here and there or do you do structured training maybe skipping the lower two phases if you know the pilot from online flights or do you have a basic test if the pass the next check ride is the mission level flight and if they pass that they go to fmq and fly missions and occasional training missions. Or. If the fail the basic check ride you run them through an intial trading phase just like the basic school house training then after the training is complete will appropriate grades they move on to the mission training course before becoming a line pilot. I’m sure some squads never worry about formal training while others select certain tasks they feel are important and have the pilot do a series of check rides to show compency with these tasks. Are they any sqauds that training new pilots from the ground up formally? How many units track recurring training tasks for there line pilots? If so how. I. Of the opinion that a goood squad will train or ensure each pilot can complete the mag or tasks for that airframe before allowing them to be active in all missions.

I’m going to be building a computer in the 6 months for dcs use mainly xp-11 secondary. I’ll be using one monitor and an Oculus Rift hmd. I’ll be using CaptoGloves and hotas setup. I would like to know the minimum, average and maximum system requirements for dcs over the next two years at a minimum. Could someone please respond with what they are designing dcs around. I recently read where they mentioned coding for multiple cores and Vulcan api for GPU. Do we need intel I9 or will the upper tier I7 be sufficient? Also will the NVIDIA god-1080ti be adequate or do we need the 1180ti or another line of GPU processors would be the way to go. Also, how much memory both main and GPU . Im Sure others would benefit from this info. As far as I know the system requirements posted for dcs are outdated like moth other documentation. I read that ed is updating the user manual finallybut unless it’s a living document like the military tech manual system with changes released as errors and new information occurs then any printed documentation will be obsolete shortly after it’s released since ed is constantly updating and improving dcs world. Imo the best way to do it is release a new base manual with every major version update and updates quarterly after that.

I’m getting ready to replac both my current m.2 and set hdd with m.2 nvme 2tb drives one in an adapter. My plan unless I’m told of a better way is to clone the c drive straight over to c drive then move the ed flderto the root of the d drive. Xplane will also be moved to d drive. The drive will be mounted in to a USB adapter and ran from there since the current d drive is basically a library folder anyway then I’ll probably copy it to a m.2 drive in a usb adpter. What do you think? Will I need to un authorize with ed then reapply after the move? Any suggestions?

VoiceAttack isn’t for communication with other humans. Most use srs which when setup properly is transparent you tune freqs using the aircrafts radio and you setup a ptt button and your good to go srs has its own server and password plus configuration. But once everything is configured it’s transparent. TeamSpeak and discord are like the water cooler at the office and used for preflight breifing some still use it for comms but srs is better.
